Q: What is your favourite part about being a member of the Baltimore Platoon?

A: Probably the chemistry in the locker room. The camaraderie is fantastic and I am already feeling at home with my new colleagues.

Q: Who are some of your favourite people you've played with in the SMJHL?

A: I guess in a way, the entire Timber Roster. I especially enjoyed playing with Valentin Kalashnikov. He is a very entertaining individual and an exceptional player. I also enjoyed playing with Olli Saarinen Jr, he taught me a lot and his presence in Maine will be sorely missed.

Q:How soon until you win 5 gold medals as an Irishman like did with my goalie?

A: *chuckles*. Chance would be a fine thing.

Q: How many hotdogs?

A: 3.

Q:What does Team Ireland need to do in order to return to dominance?

A: We would probably have to poke around on the Transfer Market and hope that many young talented Irishman enter the SHL. I have learned a lot in my first tournament as Ireland Head and I'm hoping to carry this nation to more International success.

Q: With the Platoon now residing in Baltimore which Baltimore food do you prefer, crab cakes or pit beef? Why?

A: The beef. I had several traumatizing childhood experiences involving crab cakes. *shudders*

Q: with the season about to get started for you in Maine, how comfortable are you taking over the starter role with Saarinen called up?

A: I'm very confident. I had some excellent learning opportunities last season and I've got a very talented team around me. I'm sure that I will be able to do my job, whilst the rest of the team does there's.

Q: were you surprised at all to see Baltimore draft you?

A: Yes. I had no prior understanding of Baltimore's situation, apart from the relocation. But I'm convinced that I couldn't have ended up with a better team.

Q:what excites you the most about the future in Baltimore?

A: The vast array of opportunities. We are a team looking for a fresh start and I believe that it will also be a very promising start.

Q: -if you had to lead any other nation other than Ireland, which would it be and why?

A: Probably GB. It is my home team and has a roster filled to the brim with talented players.

Q:what have you learned so far about IIHF GMing in your short stint so far as fed head?

A: That it's very stressfull. I learned how to lead a team of my own and how to successfully manage the people around me. I also have a newfound respect for GMs. It's bloody though out there.

Q:What is your favorite type of bread?

A: Garlic Bread. Goes with everything.

Q:Guilty food pleasure?

A: Fish & Chips. Good old unhealthy British food.

Q:How good does it feel to be left off the British Isles WJC roster then win a medal with UCORCAL after BRI got bounced in the quarters?

A;: I must admit, it does bring a smile to my face. A guilty, treasonous, but also quite satisfying and broad smile.

Q: I know you were worried about the potential of going undrafted in this draft. What was your reaction when your name was called?

A: Well, to give you the most honest answer, I was very relieved. This class was stacked with fantastic goalies with only a handful of teams looking to draft a netminder. It was like a boulder falling of my shoulders when I saw my name on the board.

Q:Assuming you stay with the platoon, you will be in a backup /1a, 1b situation similar to last season in Maine for the first few seasons you are up. What are your thoughts on that situation?

A: I think I'm going to have to look into it a little more, maybe talk it over with the team management, but I'm very excited about that prospect. I think what happened in Maine during my first season was brilliant and if I have an option to do that again, I think I will take it.

Q: Did any team specifically catch your eye before the draft?

A: I would probably have to say Baltimore and Texas. I thoroughly enjoyed Baltimore's rebrand, you know with the whole BAP! thing *laughs* and Texas was the first team to contact me before the draft.

Q:You are already a fed head after your rookies season! What do you think is the next job you might go after?

A: I reeealy don't know mate. *chuckles* My hands are already quite full, so it depends on whether my current responsibilities change at all.

Q:What do you like most about the SHL? Least?

A: I really enjoy the the friendship and sense of community, not just within a certain team, but also within the entire league. I honestly think that there is nothing that I don't like about the SHL.

Q:Biggest thing you want to change about the WJC and IIHF?

A: Probably the number of transfers out for nations like Canada and the USA. I am well aware that there are plenty of talented players from both nations who don't get to play International hockey. And because transfers from those nations are very limited, they rarely get to take there talents elsewhere.

Q:Best breakfast food?

A: Baked Beans on Toast.
