15. Charity Drive

Professional hockey players are among the luckiest members of a community and of all players, Drew McIntyre knows that very well. There have been many incredible people who have helped him along his journey to where he is now and if it were not for them, he would probably not be living his dream of becoming a star hockey player with aspirations of the SHL right now. From the very first time he laced up a pair of skates, he knew he was getting a very privileged opportunity and was determined to make the most of it every chance he got.

But above all, he knows that not everybody got these sorts of opportunities, in fact the majority of people did not get the opportunities that he had. He made a promise to himself that no matter how big he got, no matter how successful, he would always give back to the local communities who came to support him and gave their time and energy to him when he was on the ice. He made sure to thank and do whatever he could for his loyal following in Scotland who would rent out buses to come watch his games in the British Isles and he carries the same attitude with him to Nevada.

There were a lot of opportunities for him to do these sorts of things in Nevada, even as a junior player. He donated not only part of his salary to the annual Nevada stuffed toy drive, he would invite the organisers of the drive to one of the Nevada games after talking with the managers about having an organised event during a game which became the “Toy Drive Game”. The game and its charitable work were such a success that the Nevada charity and the team were now organising a regular game for this to happen to further integrate more with the Nevada community.

There were a lot of charitable events to get involved with in Nevada, including the food drive which as someone who knew how much he ate, McIntyre absolutely got involved with but if there was one event that McIntyre made a personal point to getting heavily involve with. The Ball Hockey for Kids lessons. We all have to start somewhere in our hockey journey and for many people, it was going to be with ball hockey without skates and thus, this was many kids first opportunity to really learn something about hockey. Drew always made it a point to be available for these hockey clinics and sessions in order to encourage the next generation of hockey players to get involved or even just to encourage kids to be more active and feel better about themselves. People were not born with the muscles and size that McIntyre had but they could work towards them with enough time and hard work.

He also gave his time to go beyond ball hockey and to teach kids beginners ice hockey alongside youth coaches. An upcoming hockey hotbed like Nevada actually had a lot of talent that could change the perception of the state if given enough time to flourish and enough good coaches in order to help it flourish to perfection. In many ways it reminded Drew of what his first coaches saw in him in regards to being a diamond in the rough and needed a lot of time, effort and training in order to become a true diamond. Drew taught the young kids everything he could about the fundamentals of ice hockey, all the basic works. Everything from their first glides on skates, how to increase their speed and how to turn (something that drew admitted to struggling with when he first started) and how to hold a stick during skating. Doing these charitable events really put into context how important the Battleborn were to Nevada and how proud Drew was to be a part of it

Milestones (3 TPE)

1. This season for the St. Louis Scarecrows didn’t quite end the way that we all had hoped - doubly so after the PR team asked Chungledown Bim to design something that the team could use to give back to the fantastic fans that stood with us throughout the year.

That’s not to say that Chungledown Bim didn’t take this task seriously. Quite the contrary in fact. He stayed up for days slaving over his desk, drawing up blueprints, schematics, outlines and concepts. He toiled over it, because what, if anything, would be worthy enough for our fans? They are the best in the SMJHL and the entire reason why we even do this at all.

Now, some will say that days of no sleep and the autocad course that Bim took at the local community college may have effected his play in the playoffs negatively, and those few may even be on to something. But when put to task Bim is the type to put his whole self behind it.

When all was said and done, and when the dust settled, I think we can all say that it was worth it, because now every single fan has the chance to be Bim for a day. With a lifelike, Sesame Street quality Chungledown bim mask, made by hand  from the finest materials available - complete with a mechanical mouth and fecal tubing. All of us, every single St. Louis super fan, can shit in each others mouth.

This is his legacy, god willing.

250 Words.

3. I think it goes without saying that to play at the level required by the SHL  you must be at peak physical form, and Chungledown Bim is absolutely no exception to that rule. Bim has an extremely rigid workout plan, it ain’t much, but it’s enough to edge out the competition, hopefully, at least.

Rather than waking up super early, Bim employs the rare yet effect training technique of just straight up not sleeping. What can I say? He’s a freak. For six days he wanders and limps around Leviathan in an ultra focused stupor - he really toes the line of extreme physical training and going outright insane. Whose to say what the difference is, really.

That, coupled with a strict diet of a mix of raw and heavily salted bait fish, moonshine whisky and raw Spanish onion, Bim has found a way to achieve perfect male form. Is this the best that a human body can possibly be? Yes. Without a shadow of a doubt. Is it worth the inevitable decades its shaving off of his life? Also yes. He gets to play hockey for a living.

This also doesn’t include the fact that cheating is not only acceptable to Bim, it is a right of passage. Steroids, performance enhancing drugs, rocket skates, razor blades in his gloves… Literally anything to outperform or straight up maim the competition. And there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it until the SHL starts drug testing. Eat it, nerd.

250 Words.

4. At this point I don’t think that you can blame Chungledown Bim for what happens. You all know exactly what he is at this point, yet somehow he finds himself appointed as the brand new funtimes director? You are getting exactly what you hoped for.

Well, I hope the other Scarecrows like sharp and shiny things, because to Bim, there is nothing more fun than swords. Sword fighting. Stabbing your friends with swords. Running with swords. Throwing swords. Sharpening swords. Stealing swords. Thrusting swords… The list could literally go on forever. In fact, I think he may be stuck in an endless loop a la Bubba Gump rambling on about what he loves most to do with swords. Maybe that could be the new team funtime activity, they can all gather around and watch Bim become increasingly more glazy eyed as he rambles further on about swords. And that’s jut his favourite weapon, don’t even get him started on muskets and flintlocks.

Otherwise, perhaps he can take the team on a  rope swinging, high flying adventure through the streets of Leviathan. Anything who makes it out the other end is definitely worthy of skating on a Four Star Cup competing team.

Fan Appreciation Day: 3 TPE

Finding the perfect item isn’t easy, so we created a set of items to give out to players. We have a set of bobble heads that we were giving away for free with a meet and greet. Vancouver didn’t have the strongest season so we really wanted to show our sincere appreciation to our fans. We also sold the entire bobble head collection in our gift store for those interested in collecting them. This was done during our last home game of the season and we announced it for all of our fans to know. We sold out the arena and the players ended up having to stay at the arena for hours as they handed out all the bobbleheads. A fan favourite was the Trent Mackenzie bobblehead since the fans came to love the effort they put forward in the net as they covered for their team's interesting defensive style. (151 words)

Looking Towards the Future: 3 TPE

It would honestly be easier to talk about what this team doesn’t need. A key player got called up, our other players were retiring and our team decided to go all in on the rebuild, selling the rest of the team leaving only the rookie core. With a handful of forwards, defenders, and a keeper, we are lacking in ALL areas. A priority is obviously offense since we got lucky drafting some amazing defenders previously but really we just need some active players who will help push us to another win. If everything goes well, in 3 seasons Vancouver will be the top dog and will be STAYING there. Vancouver is in high hopes going into next season and nothing will extinguish the connection and bonds of this team. What started as a spark has grown to a steady flame that will burn bright and long. To sum it up, a lot of offense and a bit of defense is all we need. (163 words)

Secret Plans: 3 TPE

At the request of team management, Aaron Noxus is not allowed to comment on the situation. He is strongly against sleazy actions such as sabotaging the enemy team.

Ok now that the GMs stopped reading, Aaron Noxus will do anything to win. To start off he’d hire someone to get into a car accident with the opposing team's bus as they are traveling to the game. This should significantly delay their arrival and prevent them from properly warming up. Then, once the other team does get here, they’ll find that all their jerseys didn’t get dry cleaned properly and all shrunk a size! The players will look like they’re wearing hand me downs and will be extremely uncomfortable. Additionally, all of the other teams' sticks will go “missing” right before the game starts. They’ll be forced to play with generic sticks that we cut small notches into so they will experience a large amount of broken sticks when shooting. Aaron Noxus will also spray fart spray in the locker room so when the other team finally gets there, they will be tormented by a disgusting stench. (158 words)

Funtimes: 1 TPE
You have been designated as the team's official Fun Director! Now, everyone is looking for some sort of fun activity where you all can spend an afternoon or day to chill, hang out and build some team spirit. Especially after a long and stressful season, what are your plans to ensure everyone has a great time?

In Vancouver, our favourite way to unwind is by playing games. It seems like our go to game right now is Rocket League. A bunch of us have it and it’s genuinely been fun to play together. Some of us aren’t the best so it’s extremely entertaining to see a certain somebody on the team wizz past the ball then blame his teammates for the ball going in.  (68 words)

Superlatives
Every team will always have that really funny/annoying/quirky player and personality. However, usually they can be the ones that really make sure the team gels together nicely. Come up with yearbook style superlatives to describe some of your fellow teammates.

Goals: (5 TPE)

I have quite a few goals currently. I’ll start with my prospects in the SMJHL, I hope to lead my draft class in scoring in all 4 seasons I’m here and lead the league in scoring in my 3rd and 4th season. I also want to win the cup in my 4th season with Vancouver.

Now, in the WJC, I hope that I will be able to continue to be the GM of Canada Black and eventually win a cup as a manager/ player. This is giving me much needed experience in FHM as I start to understand it’s different quirks and features to maybe GM an actual team one day.

Moving on to the SHL, I hope to have a long career with Chicago and win multiple cups with them. I would also like to become a top player in the SHL in some time and make the HOF eventually. I want to continue my goal scoring in the SHL and lead my draft class once again and continue to contribute offensively.

As for site jobs, I’ve already started to accomplish some of the goals I set for myself. I am a simmer and WJC GM. This will get me familiar with the inner workings of the league. I also co-hosted this recent SMJHL draft with BadWolf. I’ve been really enjoying learning about the league and participating in making it better. Right now my goal is to join HO to learn more about the inner workings of the SHL and hopefully contribute to making the rules more fair for players. (261 Words)

Hamilton steelhawk is one of the most skilled players in the smjhl draft class this season. his ability to make plays out of nothing with he puck is insane and its something that a lot of shl teams could use in the future. he hopes to be one of the most skilled players ever to play the game and be someone that will create a lot of plays out of nothing in the smjhl and the shl. His ability to get shots on the net shows that he has great hockey IQ, which he is trying to work on as a winger in the smjhl. He might not be the best defensive player or someone that will lay the body a lot but he has size that makes him unicorn in this sport. The things he can do with the puck on his stick are insane, and he will be a difference-maker at the next level. I feel like he has some bad areas of his game, like he might take too many shots and might not be that engaged defensively but the guy has some handles and can shoot the puck a lot. I think shl teams will be very interested in trying to draft hamilton steelhawk as he is one of the most skilled players in the smjhl, who will get a lot of shots on the net and moving forward. I think he has a lot of raw talent and within a couple of seasons he will be leading the smjhl in scoring and then eventually leading the shl in scoring.

14 I will be spending this offseason trying to improve my passing abilities as I struggled with that this season and its going to be something that I will put a lot of work on this season. I also want to work on my shot, I love how many shots on net I am getting but I need to start finishing them more at a better rate so I can increase my goals scored but I do think I am getting to the right areas to score and I have the hands to score some goals. I just need to make sure I could hit the net and beat the goalie at the end of the day as my role is going to be the primary offensive weapon either on the pp or 5 on 5. I think I could do that this season and be a better player for the yukon mamalutues so we can go deeper in the playoffs. R&R is for the weak at the end of the day. And if I am going to succeed in this league I will have to put in the work like finishing this pt for once in my life before the deadline in 27 minutes.

16. After the post season, Hamilton Steel Hawk didn't take in any R&R and just focused on trying to be a better hockey player this offseason nd refine his skills so he could be one of the top point-getters if the smjhl league this season, we are expecting a sophomore bounce in production from this highly talented winger and he has been putting in the work this offseason to be a better passer and try to reduce the giveaways this season, he leads the team in giveaways and he needs to be better if the yukon malamutes are going to try and be a better-producing team moving forward next season. I think it could be a risky approach to his offseason, but he wasn't happy with many parts of his game and he know ows he has all the talent in the world and needs to continue to work on his game. His goal for the upcoming season will be to score 30+ goals and 40+ assists and be a point per game player this season. and he wants to be able to have a chance to win a championship this season.

17. It feels like the same cw that we have been doing for years personally, but it kinda sucks for me because I did have a break from it for awhile as aI did have a gm pass and that was amazing. Kinda regret stepping down because I really don't want to do this every season. It feels like homework and I think maybe doing something different than the cw will be a good idea, I have no idea what but just typing out words just because to earn tpe isn't really all that fun or challenging for me. Bu ti do get people that want to create lore for their shl player that this is something that they want to do. maybe give more options would be something that is better. For me I am simply trying to get to the word count and maybe that's my issue.

1. Fan Appreciation Day - 1 TPE (63 words)
The Kraken marketing department had quite the budget for Fan Appreciation Night. They were able to get the fans rally towels at every seat, alternating between white and orange. However, that is just the start of the festivities. There would also be small posters of different players included when fans first enter, as well as a bobblehead of none other than Swedish Chef.

2. Looking Towards The Future - 2 TPE (103 words)
I don't want to give away too many of the Kraken's secrets for next season, but in my opinion, we do not have a single weak point at any position. Despite losing some players to aging out, this Kraken roster is as strong as it has ever been. Kim Chaewon, Greyson Willis, and Goostavo are going to continue to tear it up, and the new rookies are going to make an immediate impact as well. Our biggest area of strength? Everywhere. Our biggest need? The need to win. We are simply the greatest to ever do it, in every aspect of the game.

3. Secret Plans - 1 TPE (79 words)
We will do whatever it takes to win. Our current plan is to unleash a series of Mario Kart-esque items onto the ice for each of our home games. Imagine going into a game and expecting to get hit with a clean hip check but getting absolutely demolished by a red shell instead. I think this is a great way to spice up the competition a little bit, and give us the upper hand in some of our matchups.

4. Funtimes - 3 TPE (166 words)
First of all, the team made a serious mistake promoting me to the position of "Fun Director." I'm going to make sure everybody on the team goes absolutely crazy. First stop? Mini golf. And this isn't just for fun mini golf. I'm playing to win. After that, I'm taking everyone to the zoo. We are gonna go look at every single animal that has ever existed on this planet, including the extinct ones. I'm talking polar bears, giraffes, lions, giraffes, zebras, giraffes, and the other ones. I'm gonna keep bringing them back to the giraffe exhibit because I freak with the giraffes. Finally, we will play a new game that I invented. I call it: "Golf Cart Racing in the Walmart Parking Lot." Basically, everyone gets a golf cart, and we all race each other around the Walmart parking lot. The winner is whoever can complete the most laps before someone calls the police. After that we will all go and have a nice bonfire together.

9. What's In A Name? - 3 TPE (152 words)
There are some absolutely legendary names in this league. I don't know if I could possibly list all of my favorites in this task, but I'll try to pick out a select few and why I like them. Starting off, Pohler Beargeron. This is a very clever play on "polar bear" and "Bergeron" and one of the first names I saw when I joined the league that I was like "yeah, that's good." We also have great ones such as The Puck and Hockey Player, which are right to the point. Can't argue with that. And of course, how could we leave out two of my absolute favorites, Grindle Waters-Johnson and Aloysius Hoglord III. I have brought these names up to my friends outside of the SHL community, and they think they are incredible. These two sound like they are right out of Key and Peele's East-West Bowl, and I love it.

11. A 6 Star Show - 5 TPE (280 words)
Here we go. My ideal starting line consists solely of players who came here from Slapshot Rebound and the SPL. Obviously, I will be starting with myself, Greyson Willis, at the wing. I bring to the roster the ability to play the winger position, which not many other players who came from the Slapshot signup wave can do. I will also likely play in more of a scoring role, because that is what wingers do. Our center will be none other than Vancouver's Aaron Noxus, who had very respectable stats this season in the J. He will be the backbone of the offense, hopefully winning lots of faceoffs and setting us up for at least a few scoring chances. Our other winger will be another player from Vancouver, none other than Jamal Freaky himself. With an extremely impressive plus minus of -69 this season (nice), Mr. Freaky will aid Willis and Noxus in attempting to score. Our defensive pair will be led by Colorado's Tiny Princess, one of the biggest bums in league history, fresh off a conference championship and finals loss. He will be our shutdown guy, until he decides he doesn't want to be anymore, and then he will play offense instead. Alongside Princess is Jaquavion Tavius, truly the most washed player of all time, who will hopefully play at least a little bit of defense out there. Rounding out the roster is none other than "elite" goaltender DarthDaevin, who certainly put up stats this season. I believe this roster could win at least one game, but we could even get lucky and win two! Not in Slapshot, though. I think this team in SPL is going defeated.
