The Simulated Dance

After the success of "The Last Dance" on Netflix all of Hollywood is looking for the next big sports documentary. Most of the big leagues have been written and spoken about at length that there isn't many hidden stories left to tell. Until now, as a team at Netflix has stumbled across a very interesting league that has somehow yet to draw any attention from the major media. The SHL or Simulation Hockey League is an online community of real humans pretending to be virtual hockey stars. The whole league is run from top to bottom by volunteers, sort of like Big Cat Rescue from Tiger King. They spend hours upon hours dedicated to trying to have their letter and numbers do better than other peoples letters and numbers in virtual battle. The league itself is interesting enough but there has been many scandals over the seasons, some that will blow your mind. Netflix will dig deep into the history of this league and uncover it all. There has been everything from virtual sex allegations to cheating at the highest level including the rigging of the simulation. Come on this journey with us as we uncover never before seen webcam footage from the basements of homes across the world as league "General Managers" prepare to draft the next group of "Prospects". What's really going on here with this league/cult? Is it as innocent as it appears or is there something much deeper and darker going on?

Here at Netflix we have paired up with the NHL and NHLPA. This time we have really gone all out and we are casting the entire S53 top 100 scorers of the SMJHL with real NHL players!

Episode 1 will be released on Netflix August 1st, 2020 so mark your calendar. There will be many special cameos from ex-NHLers as they represent SHL players of the past that have vanished never to be simmed again.

(To get this list I simmed a file in FHM to get the top scorers and paired our top 100 SHL players with their equivalent NHLer. Example if you were the 4th highest scoring left winger in the SHL last year, you got the 4th highest scoring NHLer from FHM to play as you. This was just for fun and I got the list from the SHL index so if your position is wrong I am sorry. I hope you either like or despise the player you got! Thanks for reading.)
