S79 SMJHL PT #5 - Playoff Dreams

The Newfoundland Berserkers prepared for playoffs by reviewing tapes of our own games. We specifically focused on the matches against teams we struggled against in the regular season. The tapes gave us insight to adjust our game for playoffs. Particularly, we had struggled against QCC during the regular season. We are facing the Kelowna Knights in the first round of the playoffs. We reviewed tapes of the games against the Knights as well. We have to make sure to play a hard game where we drive the play and keep a hard forecheck to smother the opponents. Also, we did some team bonding events and exercises to boost moral and increase our teamwork by playing some recreational games such as poker, table tennis, and spikeball. We were hoping to go all the way to finals. However, we fell short falling to the Anchorage Armadas in game 7 in the second round of the finals. We clearly didn't prepare enough to face the Armadas. We reviewed the game tapes after winning the first series but we couldn't play our best game. We hope to be back next season to prepare for playoffs once again in after having a good regular season.

Colorado playoff hype is real. We all had to get into a playoff mindset. The first thing we do is all listen to the great music from Sam Volta. On repeat. It is truly pump up jams. We all also start the trend of dyeing our hair Blue to match our uniforms. The team will all split into our respective groups Line pairings and do everything together. being on line 3 Rocky Gislason, Enlightened Centrist, and Normand Marineau will eat all meals together, train together, and do film sessions together. This is to increase the chemisty between linemates. So far the playoff tactics have been working really well in previous seasons. So we will continue this in Colorado. Each season we add one more thing. So this season we are making the addition of watching a movie before every series. Each series the movie gets more romantic. The movie is picked by the GMs. It will be a heartfelt time
