Tracking Spreadsheet SHL S48 Game 355 - MIN @ HAM SHL Game 355 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Terrance Nova @sarmo Team: Minnesota Chiefs Victim: Finn Kruger @adamantium Team: Hamilton Steelhawks Time: 3:53 of 1st period Total possession time: 3:53 Hot po-take-to: Terrance Nova was in quite the hurry to ditch the Hot Potato. I think he was feeling like it would be a good night, so he decided to dump the Potato to get the best opportunities he could. And boy did he work during this game. He made 3 more hits, won all his face-offs, posted 8 shots on goal, and had a goal and assist in the 3rd period. After he got rid of his possession, he put out quite a performance for the Chiefs. It's a shame the Chiefs lost, but Nova certainly did his part to give them a chance. SHL Game 355 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Finn Kruger @adamantium Team: Hamilton Steelhawks Victim: Kire Yelkrab @emBARK Team: Minnesota Chiefs Time: 9:25 of 2nd period Total possession time: 25:32 Hot po-take-to: Finn Kurger is a 2nd-line defenseman for the Hamilton Steelhawks. He's a very good skater and scorer, but his game isn't very physical. This makes it surprising that he was able to pass along the Potato after only 1 period of possession. There were more physical players that held on to the Hot Potato for much longer, so he did well for himself to ditch the Potato so quickly. He didn't play for long so we didn't get to see if the Hot Potato affected his gameplay at all, which is likely a good thing for the Steelhawks: wouldn't want to risk keeping the Potato around longer to get passed on to the team some more. SHL Game 355 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Kire Yelkrab @emBARK Team: Minnesota Chiefs Victim: N/A Team: Hamilton Steelhawks Time: N/A Total possession time: 30:35 Hot po-take-to: Kire Yelkrab is a 3rd-line winger for the Minnesota Chiefs. He's a non-physical, pass-first playmaker. He made a few shots and was hit a few times with no retaliation. It was unfortunate for him that one of those hits was by the Hot Potato possessor, so he was given the Potato. He has a moderate amount of play time, so even with his non-physical game he still has some opportunity to pass the Hot Potato on. He did not in the remainder of this game, so the Chiefs once again had to carry the Potato on to the next game. SHL S48 Game 361 - WIN @ MIN SHL Game 361 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Kire Yelkrab @emBARK Team: Minnesota Chiefs Victim: Noah Gallagher @fever95 Team: Winnipeg Jets Time: 1:39 of 1st period Total possession time: 1:39 Hot po-take-to: Kire, a 3rd-line winger, jettisoned the Potato very quickly into the game, passing it along to Noah Gallagher, a counterpart 3rd-line winger for the Jets. Kire then went on to shoot 14 times, with 7 of them being on goal. He dumped the Hot Potato just in time to put tons of pressure on the Jets goalie, which likely helped with the Chiefs's victory and helped wear down the goalie enough to win the shootout. He averaged more than 1 shot per minute of play time. SHL Game 361 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Noah Gallagher @fever95 Team: Winnipeg Jets Victim: Conor McGregor @Winter is Coming Team: Minnesota Chiefs Time: 5:28 of 1st period Total possession time: 3:49 Hot po-take-to: Noah Gallagher is a 3rd-line winger for the Jets with a decently physical game. Quickly into the 1st, he showed off his physicality with a hit to Luisa Koller, but this backfired as he was targeted for Hot Potato possession 7 seconds later. However, Noah was having none of it and hit Conor McGregor about 4 minutes later, dumping the Potato on to him. Noah went on to hit, get hit, and take some shots throughout the rest of the game, but put up no points. This possession was short and sweet. SHL Game 361 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Conor McGregor @Winter is Coming Team: Minnesota Chiefs Victim: N/A Team: Winnipeg Jets Time: N/A Total possession time: 59:32 Hot po-take-to: Conor McGregor is the 3rd-line center for the Chiefs and linemate to very-recent possessor Kire Yelkrab. He was likely targeted for possession by Noah Gallagher because of his exposure to Noah's 3rd line. Conor's game is not physical but he does have a threatening shoot-first, two-way playstyle. Conor was burdened with the Hot Potato early in the game, but while possessing he took about 15 shots with 8 on goal, putting lots of pressure on the Jets goalie himself along with Noah. The Chiefs 3rd line overall put a lot of pressure on the Jets, which is surprising considering how long the Hot Potato was in the possession of that line in this game. Conor also had a good time in the face-off circle, winning 2/3rds of the face-offs he had. He had no luck ditching the Hot Potato, but this was likely because he was too focused on winning the game. We'll see where and when he passes it next. |
