Maybe im off my rocker and making wild assumptions, but I do assume that HO has the ability to do mass ping/notification league wide. If that isn't a capability then that does suck. I dont know, maybe HO at least just messages the team GMs do disseminate the info into the discord LRs. The only reason I even found out about this was seeing some SHLers on Twitter saying they were happy they didn't have to tweet anymore....

The purpose of an announcements forum is to make announcements for the whole league to read. We can't force people to read the things we post. We do have the ability to send a mass email to everyone who's ever signed up for an account here, but we would really prefer not to email blast people who've been inactive for five years (and I'm not sure where you'd draw the line there anyway. Do we email blast for every announcement? Just SOTU? Just significant rule changes?)

That said, every topic posted in this forum does get scraped by the RSS feed bot that many teams have in their locker room (I personally saw the announcement in Winnipeg and every single rookie server I've been a part of since S53), and Finn also posted a link to this thread in the management server on the 11th to make sure GMs saw it. We have a combined total of 34 teams between the SHL and the SMJHL. If we went out of our way to hound every GM to make sure they got all their players to read a specific thread, I don't think we would get much else done. My best advice here is to check in on the announcements subforum every now and then so you don't miss anything important, but if you're like me and you tend to forget stuff, you can also go to the subforum itself, hit the little gear icon, and click "subscribe to this forum"

I have since subscribed to the announcements thread on the page since this morning when I found out. All I was saying, was as a user of this site for a while now, and am in multiple SHL discords this was the first I had heard about it. I thought maybe there was a better way, but I was making assumptions. My B.
All I know is I saw many many twitter posts today that were still tagging #SHLhockey... so im not the only one.
