Can you believe it's the last week of S76 already?!
The SHL All-Star Committee has been, working extra hard this season to bring some new changes to the All-Star Game format (more on that later). That being said, the host city and logo contest are usually announced in week 2 of the season, I TOTALLY did not forget, was just working too hard <3 This season the All-Star game is going back to the SHL Western Conference Your host for the S76 All-Star Game is the..........  NEW ORLEANS SPECTERS As is tradition, the host GMs (@JKortesi81 & @Pythonic) will be hosting a GM sleepover party at the Smoothie King Center. Don't forget your sleeping bags, BYOB, and there will be games (like but not limited to) ectoplasm collection, ghost stories, Cajun cookouts, tamper role-playing, and much more! The All-Star game is not complete without a new set of sweet logos... ![[Image: shl-emote.png]](https://simulationhockey.com/images/smilies/shl-emote.png) All-Star Logo Contest Here are the requirements : The logo submissions include two (2) variations: One (1) for SHL and one (1) for the SMJHL. The logo must be the same in every other way except for the league abbreviation. While not necessary, we strongly recommend incorporating the host team's colours and overall theme into the logo (NOL team info can be found here) The committee will vote on the logo submissions and the total of the votes will determine the winner(s). In case of any tie, the committee from the host team will have the tiebreaker. If the tie persists, the committee head will select the winner of the tie. The money prizes for this contest are as follow : $4,000,000 for 1st place, $2,000,000 for 2nd place if the contest receives less than 5 submissions $6,000,000 for 1st place, $3,000,000 for 2nd place, and $1,000,000 for 3rd place if the contest receives 5+ submissions The logo contest for this season's All-Star Game opens now and will close on Sunday, May 19th @ 11:59pm EST. The SHL All-Star Committee has been cooking up a new format for this season's All-Star Game. The All-Star teams this season will be decided via draft! The GMs from the previous season's cup finals will be selecting the teams. A big thank you to @FuzzSHL, @Whitecap, @luke, and @JR95 for agreeing to be guinea pigs for this new format <3 Here are a few new things going on this season with the All-Star Game: - Cup Finalist GMs will be picking and naming their teams - A selection pool of 60 players will be chosen by the ASG committee for the GMs to draft from - Total of 40 players will be selected for the All-Star Game (36 draftees + 4 last players in) Please respond to the poll on how you would like to see the picks presented! - Remaining 20 players will be put into a Skills competition (work in progress) similar to the Toronto Northstar's Hockey Nights (Thx @Wally for the inspiration) - Last player drafted may or may not receive a brand new car.... As this is a new endeavour for the All-Star game, we are excited to see how it goes and are always looking for feedback and suggestions on how to make the All-Star experience a more engaging one for everybody in the community!
