It's a race between Jason Bourne and Cristoforo Roccamontepiano for MVP, and the question boils down to whether the commit values goals or points more. Both players represent top-tier teams, but in my opinion, Roccamontepiano stands out by a significant margin. The reason is straightforward: while you could argue a player on a lower-ranked team might be more valuable, the true MVP must produce the best numbers, which is typically only achievable on a strong team. Both Bourne and Roccamontepiano are on elite teams, but the sheer volume of points Roccamontepiano is racking up is exceptional. It's not just the quantity; his overall performance is insane compared to the competition. So, when evaluating MVP candidates, it's clear that Cristoforo Roccamontepiano's impact, in terms of points, makes him the top choice by a wide margin.

I am sure that a lot of the focus is going to be on the Quebec City Citadelles and their top line who by all accounts have absolutely torn up the league this season. In particular Cristoforo Roccamontepiano and Randolph Thompson Smythe have been a powerful duo both at even strength as well as on the man advantage putting up 222 points as a pair with 91 of those coming on the powerplay. Roccamontepiano is probably the apple of the voters eye although I would argue that being a centre and having more points on the powerplay diminishes some of the advantage that he has over his line mate. Katherina Rosenthal almost single handedly dragged the Newfoundland Berserkers to second place in the standings with an incredible 23.83 goals saved above average contributing to a league leading 36 wins and although goalies hardly get a look in in the modern day shl she has surely put forward a strong case to the commitee.

The leaders in the smjhl mvp are the following
CRISTOFORO ROCCAMONTEPIANO Dejana kaptina CRISTOFORO ROCCAMONTEPIANO Lead in points during the regular season by a margin of 19 points averaging 1.86 per games which is frankly absurd while doing this he also had a +/- of 49 which might be his only knock in getting the mvp as with such a high points total the rather low +/- shows he wasn’t as effective on the defensive side of the game and that could cost him his mvp Dejana kaptina Cristoforo teammate is also in the MVP race while not having the highest point total it’s due to his +/- is where he might get the award with 71 points and 68+/- showing his team was outstandingly better when he was on the ice the knock on his chances are on of his teammates has the same +/- and the gap between those 2 and the rest isn’t nearly as a big a gap as the points gap that cristoforo achieved |
