S81 PT #4: To The Last Drop of Blood Due: Sunday, March 16th @ 11:59 PM PST

Given that Anastasia Söderström is a goalie, she's unlikely to ever actually end up in a fight unless things really turn out weirdly, but there have been a couple occasions during her time in the pros when it looked like fists would start flying. The inciting incident is typically something like an opposing player ending up in Ana's crease or "falling" into her a little too easily, which tends to gather a crowd of players from both sides to mete out some justice. When something like this happens in front of the net, Ana will usually just skate off to the corner so she doesn't risk getting hurt and let everyone else sort it out, but on occasion she'll get a certain vibe from the opposing goalie 200 feet away. Since goalies are never allowed to cross the red line during play for any reason, it tends to result in both goalies just engaging in a staring contest from opposing bluelines and exchanging a little trash-talk, but it's not out of the question that a rivalry game could get heated enough for the goalies to decide to throw down.

To assist his team in elevating their performance as the playoffs near, marian employs a diverse strategy. To begin with, he sets a standard by demonstrating unmatched commitment and effort in all practices and games, motivating their teammates to replicate their intensity. Moreover, Marian understands the significance of mental readiness and gives motivational talks that foster confidence and cohesion among the team. They additionally include team-building drills and events beyond standard training sessions to enhance the connections and trust among team members. Another approach Marian uses is organizing shared team dinners to foster camaraderie and team spirit. By integrating aspects of leadership, motivation, teamwork, and camaraderie, marian aids their team in being thoroughly prepared and unified as they approach the playoffs, guaranteeing they are both mentally and physically ready for success on the path to their ultimate objective. They would become ready for the hardships and battles that might come there way during the postseason.

I think that I would have fought in the last game against NL. We were on a good winning streak and had a push for a higher seed. It was a highly competitive game and you always want to beat the top team in the league. Phoenix is not the sort of player who would start a fight on his own, so I think if he did fight, it would have been in service of one of his teammates or because someone came at him. He would never back down from a fight, he grew up with 2 skilled and tough siblings, so this isn't strange, but he's not a fighter. That has always been Oceys' job. He probably would have lost the fight but been a spirited combatant, though the fight would have invigorated his team. He is a passionate player, who wants to inspire his team. This would have been a catalyst to get this game to OT and well... eventually lose, but it was a good game and a good fight.

Option 2:

Gordon William Gibbles has a lot of playoff superstitions and preparation they take towards the end of the season. This may account for the slight dip in their scoring down the home stretch as they want to push their team far into the playoffs. While he is new in Toronto, he is trying his best to learn from his teammates and adapt to a new playoff atmosphere compared to Minnesota. Gibbles family does their best to bring teammates over for team dinners the day after a game to keep everyone eating healthy and moving forward. Gibbles definitely inherited the cooking habit from his father who had a flat top grill installed in the Minnesota locker room. Along with that, Gibbles has been spending a lot of time training outside and making sure to get fresh air instead of staying in a gym all day. Hopefully all the hard work will turn Gibbles into a playoff point machine.

Option 2:

Walbilly Koala not only gave motivational speeches and led by example with hard work and sheer determination, but he also invited the team out for frequent team dinners to truly solidify their bond before the playoffs began. Of course, while out eating with his team, Walbilly Koala would order mostly chicken-related dishes because it’s his favorite kind of meat. He’d encourage his team to do the same! He spoke many motivational speeches, mostly about the value of grit, work ethic, and, surprisingly, rest. He elaborated that if any of the team pushes themselves too hard, they’re putting themselves and the entire team at risk. That’s why proper rest is important. Such a basic concept can be easy to forget once you’ve already reached the metaphorical top. Allowing the body, and possibly even more importantly, the mind, to rest is crucial to both one’s development as a player and the development of a team. Being non-stop will have short-term success but eventually cause the players to crash and burn. (168 words)

Written Option 1:

Twinkle only fights in one situation, to defend their teammates. While they don't have a specific person in mind they know the type. The one that crosschecks to the ribs, or gives a less than subtle tap to the groin with their stick. This causes Twinkle to see red, and they immediately jump their opponent. But, as it's plain to everyone, this is the only chance as Twinkle's size and build is not suited for fighting. The only chance they have to even draw the fight is to catch the other person by surprise. Even though Twinkle successfully got the jump on the opponent the momentum didn't last long and Twinkle quickly attempts to wrestle their opponent to the ground. It takes agonizingly long for that to happen but Twinkle is able to bear hug and topple to get the referees to intervene. Seeing the small Twinkle stand up for their team emboldens the Falcons and provides a substantial boost to team morale.

If I were to get a fight in the SHL, it would have to be against the main timber. Very simple for the reason why? Because I don't like them and we need to beat them and we need to beat them back. So I would. Take it upon myself to just throw hands because we need a spark and the timber, we kind of just should beat them. We are better, we are the better teams. We should just beat them because they are the timber and no one likes timber and their goals on is cringe and. You're packed the game by just getting your energy into it and of course they would not be prepared to it. I'm not, I'm not a clean player. I'm a very dirty player. I'd hit the moon behind. I would jump up because why not? This ain't no love. This is hockey preparing for the playoffs and I would beat the crap out of them because I am better and I'm stronger and I'm faster and I'm not going down yelling Timber. They are.

Written Option 1:

If my player were to get into a fight during the end of a season, I believe it would be against one of the teams who is battling for a better seed agaisnt us or a rival. I don't think he'll get into a fight where the team is so high above us and we know inside we won't win the game. I also have to pick my fights correctly, since I am one of the better players on my team (self-glaze) so I don't want to fight one of the other teams lower-line players (like 3rd or 4th line). So I would want to fight one of their top players as well. I think my player would start it if either my team started off poorly, or if they run one of my team mates or goalie. I would assume my player would beat the brakes off the other player, considering my players size compared to most of the other players in the league. I would fight fair unless the other person decides to try to fight dirty. The fight would hopefully turn the momentum towards my teams favour, which helps to our lead.

Written Option 1

For being a physical defenseman I really don't get into fights, honestly I can't even remember the last fight I've been in. So to get into one at the end of the season it would mean I got jumped on by an opponent or someone one on the other team made a very dangerous play against one of my teammates. This one turned out to be the latter as someone tried to be a headhunter and it started a line brawl. I looked around and almost instantly found a dance partner and went at it. The other guy probably landed a few more punches but I got a respectable amount in and I got the takedown. Since we were the last fight to end the crowd was going ballistic as I skated off to the penalty box. Honestly I felt like it changed the game as after the fights we went on to dominate the game.

As the regular season winds down and the battle for playoff positioning heats up, Billy Herrington knows that every little edge can make a difference. At this stage, there’s no time to reinvent the wheel—conditioning, skills, and systems are already in place. But what Billy can do is bring the energy and mindset necessary to push his team to the next level. Billy leads by example, both on and off the ice. In practices, he skates harder, finishes every drill with intensity, and refuses to take a shift off. He knows that effort is contagious, and if he’s out there giving 110%, his teammates will be motivated to match his pace. Beyond just work ethic, Billy takes the time to check in with his teammates, especially the younger guys or those who might be struggling under the pressure. Whether it’s sharing some veteran wisdom, cracking a joke to keep the locker room loose, or pulling someone aside to pump them up, he makes sure no one feels like they’re in this alone. Off the ice, Billy organizes team dinners, understanding that camaraderie and chemistry can be just as crucial as tactics. He might even throw in some lighthearted challenges—maybe a poker night where the winner gets to control the pregame playlist or a friendly bet on who scores first in the next game. It’s about keeping the team engaged, hungry, and ready to leave everything on the ice. By the time the playoffs arrive, Billy ensures that his teammates are not just physically prepared but mentally locked in. Because once the puck drops, there’s no room for doubt—only belief, effort, and the will to win.

Option 2

So for the final push for the play offs I invited all my team mates over to dinner at my place. Have a informal sit down with everyone and just try to have a good time together and bond with each other. With also the play offs arriving soon we do not just have to be a team, but we need to be a strong team. Doing something small like a team dinner and have some fun and games afterwards will help build that connection between team mates and boost overall moral. I have been doing this for quite some time now and we have made it to two finals together. Not that this has become a superstition, but I would rather call it routine. It is a small effort with a big upside and also a good way to get rid of some of that older whisky and cigars.

Cade de Vries might not be the most polished brawler out there on that cold ice, but boy can he pack a punch. This honestly could be any ol' game, it would just have to be a game where the emotions got a bit too out of hand on the Ice and One big hit brought de Vries and his opponent fighting with him (Either his opponent laying out de Vries Toronto teammate or de Vries laying out an opposing teammate). Now, at the very least, this fight is out of anger, out of wanting to put the other guy in the hypothetical dirt. Now, de Vries can handle most others that go up against him, given de Vries packs on helluva punch and can take one too. However, if he ever goes up against an actual goon or fighter that is much more technical than de Vries, he can battle them out to a draw by tackling them

Well, Edzus has better things to do than fight, but this one player - named Alexis? Alexa? Yeah, must be Alexa - really wanted a go at him for no reason, or so it seemed. It happened late in an Edmonton - San Fran faceoff, the usual chirping in playoffs race was happening, but suddenly, Johansen, known goon, knocked Edzy's stick out of his hands in a fit of rage. Obviously, the stunning Latvian wouldn't let a player from Badmonton do that, so he just grabbed Alexa's stick and skated away. Little did he know the vile and violent bLizzard player would try and sucker punch him from behind... Had he not tripped on the ice (because, let's be real, Edzy is getting older and older), he might've been sent to the morgue for broken neck with how savage this cruel Alexa was. Of course, the incredible Pride player turned around, dropped his gloves and showed Alexa what playing professional hockey for 15 seasons looked like, easily winning the fight, with barely a sweat.
@cake307 wow imagine losing to old man edzy
