Moderators Yogurt Lord Hot Potato Trophy - SHL S48 Sim 13
Lost Archives: It appears due to recent outages of the SHL site (an excuse for my lack of free time over the weekend) that the most recent sim reports had been lost for a few days. The late sim reports will be coming out all right now, at the same time. Enjoy the barrage of reporting! Tracking Spreadsheet SHL S48 Game 198 - CAL @ MAN SHL Game 198 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Barry Batsbak @Katth Team: Calgary Dragons Victim: N/A Team: Manhattan Rage Time: N/A Total possession time: 1:00:00 Hot po-take-to: An uneventful game for this 3rd-line Dragon. He got several shots in, totaling 4 on goal, but no hits, hits against, and less than 50% face-off percentage. After some recent news regarding Mike Izzy's relationship to his Grand Theft Potato, it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall of the Dragons locker room between the two Hot Potato possessors. SHL S48 Game 206 - BUF @ CAL SHL Game 206 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Barry Batsbak @Katth Team: Calgary Dragons Victim: Cassius Darrow @hhh81 Team: Buffalo Stampede Time: 17:12 of 1st period Total possession time: 17:12 Hot po-take-to: Barry Batsbak started out the game alright. He blocked a shot in the first 2 minutes but lost his face offs. Around the 14 minute mark, Cassius Darrow took a shot at Barry, and 3 minutes later Barry returned the favor. It seems the Dragons were finally able to pass on the Hot Potato (much to the objections of Izzy), but there is still more to the game so we'll just have to wait and see. Barry went on to play his usual game with no points and one shot attempt. SHL Game 206 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Cassius Darrow @hhh81 Team: Buffalo Stampede Victim: Shooter McGavin @c00kies Team: Calgary Dragons Time: 13:04 of 3rd period Total possession time: 35:52 Hot po-take-to: Cassius Darrow is a 3rd-line defenseman for the Buffalo Stampede. He's a pass-first, two-way defenseman with a bit more aptitude for hitting than the previous possessor, Barry Batsbak, and the way Hot Potato luck has been around the Dragons it wasn't surprising that he was able to pass the Hot Potato on in the same game. 6 minutes into the game, Cassius was hit by Casey Creller, a previous possessor. This might have riled him up against the Dragons because 7 minutes later he hit the current possessor, which backfired with a retaliation that passed the Hot Potato on to him. Cassius was relatively quiet the rest of the 1st period, throughout the 2nd period, and for the first half of the 3rd period. About halfway through the 3rd period, Cassius was hit by Otis B. Driftwood. About 3.5 minutes later, Darrow retaliated against Calgary and hit Shooter McGavin, passing the Hot Potato on to him. So far the game, the Hot Potato had passed on through acts of revenge and frustration, making for some interesting Hot Potato and hockey in general. After passing the Potato, Darrow was hit again by Calgary, this time by Nicky Pederson Jr. He was quite the target this game, but was still able to get the Hot Potato off his head before the game ended. SHL Game 206 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Shooter McGavin @c00kies Team: Calgary Dragons Victim: N/A Team: Buffalo Stampede Time: N/A Total possession time: 6:56 Hot po-take-to: The Dragons have had some tough luck this season with the Hot Potato. It seems like every time they get rid of the thing, it comes back quicker than before. Shooter McGavin was hit in the 3rd period to become the possessor. He is a shoot-first, 1st-line winger for the Dragons, but doesn't have much taste for the physical game. This could make it so the Potato isn't passed on for a while like some of the other possessors, but his 1st-line role certainly gives him the minutes and opportunity to pass his burden on to select targets. Shooter was a bit of a target himself this game. In the 1st period, he was hit twice by the Stampede, and then of course was hit in the 3rd by Darrow to come to possess the Hot Potato. He assisted in a goal a few minutes prior to possession, which may have played a part in Darrow's selection of McGavin to pass the Potato on to. Shooter wasn't able to pass the Hot Potato on himself, so once again the Dragons will carry the Hot Potato through to the next game. SHL S48 Game 215 - NOR @ CAL SHL Game 215 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Shooter McGavin @c00kies Team: Calgary Dragons Victim: N/A Team: New Orleans Specters Time: N/A Total possession time: 1:00:00 Hot po-take-to: Shooter McGavin had a good shot-production game against the Specters, but no physicality entered his play for the full 3 periods of play. The Dragons took the lead in the first period pretty quickly and never lost it, so the team likely didn't have much pressure to keep the Specters down and Shooter was able to just focus on the puck game. This means the Dragons will carry the Hot Potato through to the next game, once again. |
