In Season 47, the Tampa Bay Barracuda hit a breaking point. The team finished a paltry 16-29-5 to finish last in the SHL. In this season of Hard Knocks, the SHL documentary team will focus on the upcoming season for the Tampa Bay Barracuda. The season will start by looking at the work that went into selecting eventually first overall pick Kaspers Claude @Bruins10 , the training regiment of both players and rookies including super-rookie Akashi SixNine @FourFour. Focus will then shift towards free agency where Tampa Bay made a splash, bringing in huge free agent Nikolas Klaus @Noble to shore up their offence. Then, we follow every up and down in the regular season, including reactions to the 14-5-4 start which will lead the Barracuda to playoffs. Will the Barracuda do the unthinkable and turn this season around straight into a Challenge Cup berth and win? All this and more on Hard Knocks – Tampa Bay Barracuda.
Catch Hard Knocks – Tampa Bay Barracuda every Wednesday night at 9pm on the SHL Network followed at 10pm by the video version of hit podcast Old Man Jokes, where Manhattan Rage GM Jax Aittokallio @JayWhy will yell at viewers about how historically unlucky the Rage are. All this and more on the SHL Network. Where Hockey Lives.
Similar to Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the show revolves around the host hopping into player's cars before they head off to the rink. While they drive, the host will ask some questions, raise witty banter, and give us insight to the player of the episode.
Once they get to the rink, the player shows off his practice routine. It can be an individual practice, a group session, or a pregame practice: doesn't matter. The player will be filmed during practice, showing off his skills, banter, mistakes, coaches yelling at the player: all the good stuff.
Post practice, the host and the player drive back to the player's house, with a bit of a trivia round/discussion. Once they get back, the host will ask the player to give any final thoughts, and say goodbyes to the audience, ending with the player entering the front door.
The newest show to look forward to hitting the Simulation Hockey League's television network will be an hour long highlight show that will air at nine p.m. on Sunday nights. The show will entirely recap the week's hockey action. This will include an in depth look at the standings, any and all player movement, and of course the best highlights and bloopers from the week. The show will also cover the SMJHL, including draft prospects and challenge cup projections. What will set this show a part from the typical highlight shows is that each week will featurea different guest hosts made up of players from the league just like Saturday Night Live. By having the players host the show, the fans at home will be allowed to see a different side of the players compared to cookie cutter answers they deliver in the team setting. Players will be encouraged to loosen up and have some fun while take the fans through the most recent week of SHL hockey.

What the SHL network needs is a weekly round the juniors show. Object of the show won't be to highlight upcoming prospects but to actually focus on the teams and the gameplay happening in the junior league (smjhl). So often the only coverage that the SMJHL gets is in the context of who is going to be an amazing star in the SHL. This show will be different in that it won't shy away from highlighting the players who while unlikely to impact the SHL are making a significant impact in the juniors. That's not to say star prospects won't be highlighted, it's just that they will be discussed in there existing contribution to their current team, not in terms of projecting next level performance.
To do this we are going to build a panel of experts whose pool of knowledge is centered in individual focus areas. As such we will be bringing together the following panel for this weekly show:
@39alaska39 , former GM of the Colorado raptors will be highlighting tactical inovations being implemented by teams in the juniors.
@Acsolap manager of rising star Defensman Rex Kirkby will be focusing on defensive game play and build up.
@Boomcheck , manager of the devisive forward, Carmen carter the second (CC2), will bring his insight and baias on forward play to the panel.
And finally, yours truly, @Tomasnz , Sid Renfrow, goalie analyst, awards host, and friend of goalies everywhere, will be anchoring the discussion and highlighting the best saves and goalie performances each week.

Written task: Help the SHL create good original content by putting forth an idea for a show!.. which should include it's premise, the time slot and length of this show, the members or players involved and the reasons why you picked them?... in 150 words or more Lets hear your plan! *tag anyone involved*
Show: Game of Patrones
Premise: Potato-inclusive Game of Thrones. House Potato and 6 other major houses were ruled by the Calgary Dragons, who conducted a hostile takeover of the previously-independent kingdoms. After the dragons died off, the rule of the Dragons became ever weaker with inbreeding and madness. The alleged kidnapping and rape of Hot of House Potato by @Mike Izzy of House Dragons led to an uprising, later called the War of the Tuberper, in which Hot's suitor Lord Tubert Barmasheon won the hearts of the small-folk and overthrew the Mad King. After over a decade of peace, House Barmasheon's rule has been infiltrated by House Lannistarch, Tubert's mentor and hand of the king John Fryin has suddenly died, and an ancient race of Fry Walkers are stirring in the far reaches of the north as a multi-year winter approaches. How will this conflict-ridden kingdom cope with such difficult times?
Time slot/length: 9 PM EST Sundays, ~1 hour each episode
Cast:
@Mike Izzy (Mike Izzy) as Mike Izzy of House Dragons (previous experience with Potato theft) Hot Potato (Hot Potato) as Hot of House Potato (previous experience being a Potato and with being kidnapped)
@"Flareon4043" (Perry Morgan) as Jon Tato (is a bastard)
@Mavfatha (Manuel Gotze) as Spudor (very limited vocabulary makes him perfect for this role)
@Ace (Tigole Bitties) as Lord Walder Fry I (a crotchety old S36 fart if I ever saw one)
@Raven (Rafe Ulrich) as Tatemar Royce (as arrogant and expendable as anyone)
@Moosecop (Maximilian Egger) as Eddie the Soldier (studio-required celebrity cameo)
@5ympathies (Dick Clapper) as Leaf (just as creepy looking)
@SpartanGibbles (Collin Gibbles) as Tuberion Lannistarch (he may not be as short, but he's a good drinker and he can kneel for his scenes)
@GCool (Jerry Mander) as Theon Tatejoy (just as neutered, but still good in a fight)
@shutdown (Nick Connolly) as Spudrick Payne (aka Spud the Stud) (voice of an angel and intense skills in bed make this a good casting choice)
@hotdog (Eko van Otter) as Spudrick Payne's Rod (no one can argue he's NOT a dick...)
@SDCore (Corey Kennedy) as Ghost (he's such a good boy, yes he is!)

Alright here's what we are going to do. We are gonna have a game show and we are gonna make the game show similar to the good old "uh-oh".
So here we would just basically humiliate each contestant in a fun and harmless way. Mostly just covering them with some kinda slime and what not for when they lose the rigged games that we have them play. Obviously there will have to be a winner but they don't win much here. Basically they win less of a humiliation than the others and i don't know maybe a donut? I would be the egregious host and would laugh my ass off all the way to the bank with my SHL paycheck. Hell I would do it for free just to see the likes of my fellow players get a handful of goop slapped on their face. This would be a daytime show so the kiddies could laugh at the pg 13 comedy.
My idea for show would be a ´road show´. Every week the show moves to one of the cities where SHL teams play, for example to Calgary on week 1, then on week 2 to Minnesota etc etc. The main idea is to have couple of the players in each team compete in various little challenges against the hosts and one lucky fan. The challenges are anything from shootouts, shooting the puck to various targets and of course skating. Shootouts and shooting the puck are for fun to see who does the best, but the skating part of the show has hockey related questions on it that everybody needs to answer, if you answer wrong - you will do some skating around the rink as punishment!
The better you do in the challenges, the more money you earn and that money will then be donated to charity, so fun hockey related show that will hopefully make people watching know the players bit better when they show some personality in the show, but also charity aspect is always great to see.
The show is 30 minutes long, airs at 8pm every Thursday and it´s hosted by famous hockey personalities Jim-Bob Erikson and Mary Davies.
The SHL should do a show that is mic’d up events from the ice after games. Personally, I think a full sixty minute time slot would be needed here because there are a lot of players that could really bring a full hour of entertainment each week. In terms of number of players I think at least 3 players from every team in a format that looked something like this. First every goalie should be wearing a mic because of the excitement that could come from a player allowing goals and all of that (or making big stops of course). Then I think picking a star player on the team would really give the fans what they want and would bring in the viewers. Perhaps most interesting would be the third slot that goes to a younger player or somebody that is just not very well known so we can see their struggled and watch those that flourish and those that flounder via their commentary each week.

Well the whole SHL knows about @Steelhead77 and his obsession with chicken parm. So the SHL network has come up with a new cooking show called Cookin for Calgary. Competitors from each of the SHL teams will compete to see which team makes the best chicken parm. The judges will be @Steelhead77, @Slappydoodle and @Mike Izzy. Each team will have their parm judged based on taste, plating and the quantity consumed by each judge. Each team will have one hour to prepare their special chicken parm for the judges. The winning team will advance to face another winning team until it's narrowed down to 2 teams. Once a winner is determined the entire Dragons team will play a summer exhibition game in that city's arena to benefit a charity of the winning team's choice. They will also earn a special trophy of a giant gold chicken that they can proudly display at the home arena with a nest underneath where fans can donate money to that team's charity as well. Should make for exciting television and hopefully raise money for a good cause.

Queer Eye - SHL Edition
Hockey is a rough sport, a true men's game full of pain and guts where only the toughest can succeed. But luckily the league isn't the same that it was almost 50 years ago, as a lot of things have changed over the last few decades. One of these things is inclusiveness and while there is still a long way to be gone until full equality, the sport where homophobia and overcome clichees of "manliness" were rampant in the past has come a long way over the last few decades and the league has seen their fair share of LGBTQ players. So why not celebrate that newly found freedom and diversity with a crossover with one of the most popular shows on television that is loved and celebrates by gay and straight people alike. I'm talking of course about Quee Eye and in the SHL's version of the show, a group of queer experts that is a mix of the shows original cast and former SHL players (who I'm not gonna name as I don't wanna assume anyones sexual orientation) will visit current players and prospects as well as fans at home and help them fix their lives while also looking damn fly along the way!
I think the SHL needs a series kind of like "Shaq vs." For those of you who dont know what that is, it was a TV series where Shaq would take on experts in their craft with only a few days of training, and try to beat them. I think this could be great for league exposure and could utilize some of the great personalities this league has had over the years. I think a show called "Esa vs." would be a great show to have. He could take on some of the best players from the NSFL and PBE and see if he can beat them. He could also take on a professional chef in a chicken parmesan cook off. This kind of television would probably outsell the SHL Finals, so maybe the league is too afraid to do this. Either way, I think this would be instantly the most watched show on television
Get inside the Big Parm and see the Dragons as never seen before. See Esa make those oh so important tweaks and changes to the lineup as well as maybe eat a parm or two. Watch as Otis B. Driftwood tries to lure unsuspecting rookies to his infamous couch and Brennan Kennedy Jr and Chico Smeb try to stop them as they know the horrible things that happen there. Follow The Augment on one of his pregame routines of sacrificial fire and see him as you've never seen before. Kata Vilde can be seen around the halls with a very odd tic and muttering something about "god damn defense" that no one is sure what hes going on about. Theres even been mentions about a few ghosts kicking around, maybe you'll get lucky and see the infamous Zombie Peds. All this and more on Dragons Den.
The bastards have finally done it. After nearly fifty seasons of professional hockey, the simulation hockey league has finally made the decision to open their own television network. Is the move a day late and a dollar short? I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out. I think one of the first shows that the network is going to need is a sort of recap show, where not only do they go over scores and highlights of the games, but also get interesting interviews, rather than just really short snippets of a single player saying, “Yeah we just didn’t put the puck in the net tonight.” I’m thinking along the lines of interviewing general managers about how their teams are playing, doing anonymous surveys of the league’s general managers to see what kind of moves they’d be doing differently for other teams, what players they think are undervalued/overvalued, and more. It’s this kind of content that would allow the SHL network to shine. Another show idea that I think could be cool is something like a show they have on the YES network (Yankees network) called Yankeeography. Each episode is like 45 minutes long, and is a short biographical documentary about one of the Yankees legends. I think this show would be a great way for new fans to learn about the history of the SHL, which I think is really not known by anyone except those who were lucky enough to experience it.
This show will follow the Whaler's lives off the ice at their various road trip locations and see what they're putting in their bodies before and after gametime. From sushi to steak to ham and cheese sandwhiches! Lots of different states in different arenas so there's gonna be lots of variety in the food locations for the show. Maybe they'll follow Bobby Bobcalf as he goes and dines on the finest steaks. Or, they'll follow @"luketd" as he goes and feeds on the life force of orphans. I heard that @SecondSucks22 never goes out to eat. Instead he tends to bring his kitchen with him and cook everything himself, then posts pictures of his immaculate PBJ to the locker room. I heard that Daco is also a great fan of gourmet food, lets see where he is! Ah, he's at his favorite location! I heard he absolutely loves the poached buffalo!
