“Together the SHL and former Toronto Stars defenseman Mathias Chouinard are announcing a new expansion team to be located in Manhattan.
The team name based upon a fan vote will be the Rage. The Rage received 16 votes while the name, Bronx Bombers was only three votes shy of first place. With 7 the name, Valiants, came in third place.
Obviously, Mathias Chouinard will be the GM of the Manhattan Rage and was quoted as being "shocked" yet "excited" at his selection as a general manager mainly due to never being told about via personal message.
Chouinard has been quoted as saying that he's looking to build a team, "that can do everything from putting the puck in the net to knocking opponents of their feet if they get near the puck."
Chouinard is now here to answer any questions.”
That post was made on August 1st 2010. The poll for the name went up July 26th 2010. The poll received 43 votes, and SHL at the time Chose the Rage.
Other names on the poll were: Nitros, Jackals, Lawmen, Valiants, Bronx Bombers
All of the other logos that they linked in that thread now have 401 errors, almost 10 years later and those 16 people who voted Rage, could come back and see that their vote really mattered. If you look at the original logo, if you do a reverse image search you can see that logo on different websites, World Of Tanks, Roblox, and other various websites, and 50 seasons later we have a more polish, cleaned up version of the Rage logo(Thank you Karey of course).
To start out Gming the Rage was Spangle for 3 seasons, being able to turn an expansion team into a winning team, getting a record of 81-65-18 with his last season at 24-16-4, ending on a high note. Next is Diamond_Ace, where he spent 8 seasons as the GM of Manhattan, with a decent record of 207-210-43, ending his GM career there in S14 posting a 30-16-4 record, very much a high note. But that left Manhattan to build, as we can tell from the next GM, Ochocinco record of 116-162-22, gming from S15 to S20, having his ups and downs. Nike came next, from S21-S24 getting Manhattan their first Challenge Cup in S22, defeating the Panthers 4-3 in the series. Nike left the GMship in S24 with a record of 99-92-17 and 1 cup. Merica then became GM from S24-S27 with a record of 63-76-11. Still in a rebuild phase, Jorec Gmed for 3 seasons from S27-S30 with a similar record to Merica with a record of 67-67-16. Then Kez stepped into Gming the Rage for the next 7 seasons (S30-S37) becoming the 2nd GM in Manhattan to win a Challenge Cup in S34. Kez ended his GM in S37 with a record of 197-169-34, 3 wins away from 200 wins. For a short season, Nuck became GM, winning a cup for Manhattan in S38, with a record of 31-23-4 for his 1 season and 1 cup.
Now this becomes in the modern GM JayWhy, which is also the longest GM in rage history with 12 seasons to date. Starting out in S39 looking at a very long rebuild, he went to work, but that began with the longest drought of entering the playoffs, S39-S45. A very long 6 season before making the playoffs the next 6 seasons, with 3 of those seasons they made the Eastern Conference Finals, but losing each time. With a record of 292-296-54 he will be looking at to be the 1st Rage GM of hitting over 300 wins but also 300 loses and he will try to get a winning record in S52.
Now we will have our 50 season tribute logo to our 2 recent logos that the Rage have used on their jerseys and sold all over the world.

Also during our veterans night we will be giving them away to the proud veterans that served for us. Lets hope for 50 more wondrous seasons of the Manhattan Rage and lets have a good rest of the season!
