a. These are absolutely two of the best goaltenders in the league in Cain and Kryyst - which team has the advantage in net in this series?
When considering a goalie matchup in the S55 Challenge Cup Finals, the New Orleans Specters undoubtedly have the edge with Aleister Cain in net. I know this because Cain was vital in the whole sweeping thing that New Orleans did. Totally clutch. Everyone said so while livetexting the sim in NOLA chat.

b. There are two Johnsons in this series - Gabriel (HAM) and Darnell (NOLA). In fact, the two used to host the Johnson & Johnson Podcast together, but they're now on the ice as bitter rivals. Which team has the better Johnson?
Being asked to choose a better Johnson is very hard for me, as I love and appreciate both Gabriel and Darnell, having played on Anchorage with both and with Darnell now. I will have to go with Darnell, though, out of loyalty and also because I'm pretty sure the meme is to make fun of Gabe.
Code:
c. The Specters won both regular season matchups, but Hamilton finished with better team stats overall. Do regular season head-to-heads provide an accurate forecast for a playoff series? (answer predictively if it hasn't happened yet; reactively if it has.)
While I usually stan team stats as a concept, it would seem that win-loss record is the deciding factor here. New Orleans didn't let Hamilton win in the regular season, and we were gonna be fucked if we let them do so even once during the finals. Sweep sweep, motherfuckers.

d. If SDCore offered you an all-expenses paid week-long vacation to either New Orleans or Hamilton, which city would you choose to go to? (tough choice I know lol.) How would you spend your time there?
I'd love to support tourism in a Canadian city, but no one has ever sold Hamilton to me as a vacation spot, and I've already been to Ontario, so I gotta vacation in New Orleans. I'm told it's a lot of fun, like, getting drunk in the street and looking at spooky things or something.

Welp, you waited until the last day to grind out your CW and the CC finals are longggggggg over by now. congrats to [TEAM], woo! Reflecting back on the series, who gets your vote for series MVP? Make the case why this player deserves it over any other.
I'm not going to be deep about this one, not least because I don't know how to read the sim in any great detail - so Lil' Manius is undoubtedly New Orleans' MVP in the playoffs, having notched a team-leading 21 points and a remarkable (probably) plus/minus of +16 with an average time on ice of 21 minutes. That's a lot of ice time, and it wasn't scrub ice time - it was productive as fuck, and totally was vital to New Orleans doing the whole winning thing. I'm not gonna lie, though, I did think Lil' Manius was a defenceman? I don't know why I thought that. Anyway, MVP!

Well, the ultimate goal of the season is always to win the Challenge Cup, and Olivier did that! For the first time in his career! That feels pretty fucking special, especially after being offloaded to NOLA after dedicating so much hard work and love to Tampa Bay. And he didn't just get carried, either - he contributed a solid 18 points in the playoffs, including some clutch goals. And that was on top of a personal best regular season, notching a pretty insane 55 points. New Orleans has really agreed with Olivier - I think his success can be attributed in part to being happy living with his boyfriend, in part to working hard to fit in on the team and prove his worth, in part to great coaching, and in part to having a really good team to slot into. Next season, Olivier will attempt to somehow top this season - but it's going to be pretty hard!

S54 IIHF Predictions - with one FHM IIHF season under our belt, we've got a bit more of a sense of how the tournament might play out in the new sim engine. What are your predictions for the S54 IIHF or WJC tournament - how do you think your team will fare this season? Who do you think are the biggest contenders to take home the hardware and why?
You say we have a better sense of how IIHF may go this season, but that really assumes that I paid attention last season, and I didn't. Well, I maybe did a little now that I'm typing this. Team Great Britain didn't win, I'm pretty sure of that. Wait, did we win bronze? I think we did. I'm going to assume we did and thus that we're good in FHM and that we will be EVEN BETTER this season. Gold, here we come. I have faith. I'm also told big teams have a better chance - like, I think Canada was really good last season, as predicted, so that will probably happen again. Was the USA any good? I feel like they were supposed to be but weren't. Even if that's not the case, I'm going to claim that that's what will happen this season. Leggo, international hockey! Team Great Britain is GOLDEN, baby.

Which player from the Steelhawks or Specters has a great chance to make the Hall of Fame when their playing days are up? Make the case for that player's HOF bid.
Forget stats, I'm going to be biased as FUCK for this one because I haven't mentioned Jimmy Slothface by name for this entire championship week and that's a crime considering when he was a rookie I did an entire CW solely about him. And now he's actually good! And he's in the hall of fame of both Olivier's heart and mine, so I claim that he should also be in the SHL's hall of fame, because he's perfect and amazing. And also has one zillion TPE. I know HOF bids often depend on individual awards and stuff and I don't know if Jimmy has those, and I don't care. Put him in the Hall of Fame. I love him. Thanks, bye.

Hernadivic had a slight improvement from his rookie season to his sophomore season, and helped contribute to Buffalo winning the President's Trophy, yet Hernadivic can only wish and dwell on the fact that he should've done more. Hernadivic increased his scoring from 20 points to 27 points, yet saw his plus-minus decrease from +23 to +16. Looking at the playoffs, Hernadivic only had one measly point in 4 games in his rookie season of S53, yet he saw those numbers jump to 6 points in 13 games in the S54 playoffs. 6 in 13 games is only slightly off the pace of his regular season point per game averages. All in all, slight improvement personally was nice to see, yet getting unlucky as a team playing against Geezus Krysst in the playoffs once again was a major disappointment. Hernadivic will look to crack 35 points next season, but all he cares for at this point is winning a 4 Star Cup. (161 words)

Well, dang. Your team didn't make the finals this season - my condolences to you. Are you and your teammates planning on watching the finals even though you're not in it? If so, what are your watch parties like? If not, are you still following the finals or trying to ignore it completely? What are you and your teammates doing together (if anything) instead of following along? (if you're on Hamilton or New Orleans, or either of the 2 SMJHL teams that soon will be playing in the finals - congrats and sorry :p this one isn't for you!)
LMAOOOOOOO yeah fuckin right am I watching the finals????? What kind of insulting question is that? For those unaware, the two teams playing in the finals are Buffalo's biggest rivals, the New Orleans Specters and the Hamilton Steelhawks. Hamilton and Buffalo have become bitter rivals of late, with things flaring up during the Cheathawks scandal, and the bitterness has continued as these teams face off in the playoffs annually. HAM has come out on top of late, with Kryyst winning them the conference finals this season as they beat us in Game 7 overtime. The history of New Orleans and Buffalo goes back to S46, when the expansion team Specters had a fairy tail run to the finals, where they fell to the Stampede in 7 games. In the end, no, I will not be paying attention to the finals, no, none of my teammates will be paying attention to the finals, see you next season SHL, it's offseason time (160 words)

d. If SDCore offered you an all-expenses paid week-long vacation to either New Orleans or Hamilton, which city would you choose to go to? (tough choice I know lol.) How would you spend your time there?
a. lmfao this isn't a debate, I'll take the goalie that just single handedly eliminated the best team in the league by posting a .931 save percentage - for reference, Carey Price in his MVP season posted a .933 save percentage, pog. No offense to Slash but yeah I'll take the dude who never loses flames even when he lets in 7 goals, gets pulled, and takes an ugly L. (68 words)
b. LMAO man these aren't serious questions are they? Let's take a look at the statistics of the two Johnson's anonymously.
Option A: 8 Goals, 36 Assists, 44 Points, +35, 64.3 CF%
Option B: 1 Goal, 8 Assists, 9 Points, +7, 55.6 CF%
I think the option is pretty obvious, don't you? GABE for all his deserved memery is unquestionably superior. (60 words)
c. I feel like regular season head to head matchups provide a little bit of forecasting in the playoffs, see Buffalo over Chicago (4-2 regular season series, 4-2 playoffs), Hamilton over Manhattan (3-0-1 Hamilton, 4-0 Hamilton) but not for this. Why? Hamilton is clearly superior, and shouldn't struggle with an overmatched Specters team. One thing to consider when looking at H2H matchups - HAM and BUF were the clear two best teams in the league, it stands to reason that their dominance carried over to the playoffs, I would expect this matchup to be more like Hamilton - Manhattan, than Hamilton - Buffalo. (99 words)
d. As a Hamiltonian irl, does an all-expenses trip to Hamilton mean SDCore would help pay my mortgage downpayment? Would it include free groceries, or free visits to the wonderful bakeries and dessert shops Hamilton has to offer? Could it include my tattoo appointment? Lots to consider here. If not, then sure, New Orleans seems okay, could we postpone it to when LSU plays UF? (64 words)

Jimmy Wagner went from one of the top scorers on a low level offense last season to a split of the regular season scoring title and leading the highest scoring team in the league in points. It's safe to say that he exceeded expectations on the individual side of things. One of two players to surpass the 1.00 point per game measure in the J this season, Wagner had one of the best seasons in the league and has the potential to hear his name a few times come award season. Beyond the regular season performance, Wagner has stepped up in the playoffs, with his Kraken facing elimination going into St. Louis for game 6, had an assist in the first, scored the eventual game tying goal in the second, and the overtime game winner to force game 7 where he had a goal and an assist in their 4 goal first period.

What are your predictions for the S54 IIHF or WJC tournament - how do you think your team will fare this season? Who do you think are the biggest contenders to take home the hardware and why?
Once again, I expect the WJC gold to be a three team race between DACH, USA, and UCORCAL, just based on roster talent. DACH as a whole is finally starting to not have a full roster of capped players, but the top end is filled with massive producers like Jimmy Wagner, Burlok Sulfurgold, Steve Harrington, Jack Kanoff, and Cale Amundsen, and the overall depth of the roster is definitely still there. My dark horse pick for the tournament is Team British Isles, with Alexander Roach / Faelax transfering and continuing to be a GM, I expect them to build on last tournament's impressive round robin run, especially with how many high end centers they will be bringing with their roster, including former SMJHL MVP Edward Williams and the best possession center in the J in Keith Lee. Canada is the team I expect to under preform, based on roster, unless Frans Eller builds some momentum in the J playoffs this week.

Occasionally, broadcast networks will bring an active player into the TV coverage of ongoing finals if their team has been eliminated, and that player is often to give unique insights from a current player's perspective. During this NOLA-HAM finals, which SHL player or prospect would be a good addition to the Challenge Cup TV coverage? Why would that player be a good addition to the broadcast team?
The SHN broadcast for the cup finals is featuring Manhattan legends Luke Thomason and Arnost Holub. Thomason is a veteran with a wealth of experience with both New Orleans and Hamilton players, and would be able to bring Tony Romo levels of color commentary to the media conglomerate's broadcast. Arnost is a true scholar and historian of the league, able to bring his expertise of the involved teams and league history to the desk, providing historical context and significance to seemingly random or inconsequential moments. The two of them would join a special host for the series, the one and only... me. I have possibly the largest wealth of experience talking to a live audience about the SHL with and already host and direct the conversations about the SHL that take place on Hockey Talk Tonight. I am the obvious choice to lead and direct the desk for pregame, intermission, and post-game analysis.

Flako Lagerfield, easy. 583 points over 12 seasons now is massive, he's been integral to the Hamilton domination over the last 4 seasons, and most terrifyingly of all he just keeps getting better. His offensive play is not one dimensional and he's passable on defense - which will likely not even be a factor for his hall of fame bid. He has really defined the peak of what an offensive focused winger can be this season and that alone means as long as he plays his cards right and retires at the right time he will be a lock for that class's hall of fame.

a. Hamilton definitely has the edge this season, while Cain has been an elite goaltender in the league for a long time, it's hard to argue with how productive Kryyst has been this season. He rocks a solid 0.913 save percentage, which is at least good for 9th in the league among starters where Cain's 0.903 is 14th among starters.

In his second season in the SMJHL with a much expanded role Mats Marner was expected to be Newfoundland’s star center anchoring a line with captain Slatt Potts and Steve Harrington. While Marner had a strong start to the season he quickly disappeared going on pointless streaks of ten plus games. Out of the top nine forwards in Newfoundland Marner, has the second lowest point totals and the worst points per minute played out of all forwards on the team while not standing out defensively either. However when the games became more tight checking and low scoring in the playoffs Marner finally came to play and helped his first line catch fire offensively being a big reason why they are still in the heat of the playoffs in the eastern conference finals. So far Mats Marner has eight points in nine games and Newfoundland’s first line has been absolutely dominating. Except this to continue if Newfoundland is to win the Four Star Cup.

Being a part of the Newfoundland Berserkers, I have gotten to know Andrei Kostitsyn quite well and there have been some rumors swirling around his missing brother Sergei. While authorities have not public came out and said it Andrei thinks his brother may have been assassinated by a Latvian mob leader. The reason I think this is because when Andrei and I were playing in the season fifty three IHF tournament for team Latvia and Andrei had mention his brother was getting into some trouble back home in Latvia and how he was hanging out with the wrong crowd. At this point the only thing I can do is notify the authorities about this suspicion.

I think that team UCORCAL has a really good shot at winning the world junior championship for the SMJHL. They have a roster that is full of experienced and older send down players who have had great success this year in the juniors. Some notable super stars on this team include Ambacas Cuddles, Clean Andrei Kostitsyn, Alexi Petrikov, Simon Takshak, Mats Marner and Konrad Danke. However, the most noticeable name left off this team is former SHL first overall from season fifty four defenseman Mikkel Asmus Sondergard. I don’t know why he was left of team UCORCAL but it goes to show the depth of this team. Nothing less then a medal would be a major disappointment for this team during the upcoming WJC tournament. Other contenders who should give team UCORCAL a run for their money are the perennial power houses of team Canada, team USA and the dark horse of the tournament team World.

Hands down the player with the best chance to make the Hall of Fame when their playing days are up is superstar forward Flacko Lagerfield. Right now one of the best forward in the SHL last season being over a point a game and had another great season this year. He has already won one cup with the Steelhawks and is on pace to win another while being considered the most valuable player on his team. Accoridng to the Bojo box, excluding season fifty three, Flacko has an impressive six hundred and twenty two points in seven hundred and seven hundred and seventy four professional games. He has had eight forty plus point seasons and is a plus sixty throughout his career with over one thousand two hundred and fifty hits and over one hundred and fifty shots blocked proving that he has a solid two way game. If he can continue his production rate he should definitely be a hall of famer.

With only one champion in the SHL and the SMJHL per season, that means the other 26 teams came up just a bit short (or a lot short). Team owners know that fans can get frustrated by shortcomings, so they're always trying to keep optimism high in the fan base. Written option: give an excerpt from an ousted team's owner's press conference at the end of the season focusing on the team's bright future or however they can keep fans' optimism high.
After a miracle finish to the regular season that saw the Calgary Dragons sneak into the playoffs beating out the Texas Renegades for the last spot in the western conference through a tie breaker, the Dragons were extremely disappointed at the end of their first round series against the Los Angles Panthers. Having been easily defeated in five games, the Dragons know there will need to be some changes in the off season. The biggest problem during the regular season was letting in way to many goals while they had a high powered goal scoring offense. When the playoffs hit the team tightened up a lot defensively but was unable to find the back of the net. Management is aware of these areas of weakness and vowed to improve the team so they can come back stronger and better then ever in season fifty five. Some bright spots have been the Dragon’s SMJHL prospects as Mats Marner and Cale Amundsen have been excelling and are currently still in the playoffs with the Newfoundland Berserkers. In addition, Bradley Barkov is another young promising defenseman who should be ready to crack the Dragons roster soon as a season fifty three prospect. The Dragons also got some solid picks in the upcoming draft and an experienced core so they are not far away from making the jump to a cup contender.

I was pretty bad this year to be honest like my player only had 5 goals and 8 assists and -3 in plus minus which is a stupid stat but still and 44 hits and 26 giveaways and 20 takeaways and 11 shot blocks and 0 power play goals and 0 power play assists and 0 fights so I only got 1 milestone this year which is pretty bad and so hopefully next season I am better because I would like to be better because when my player is better the team is better and that would be really nice and so in order to make my player better I am first and foremost going to try to actually earn and apply TPE because I have heard that this strategy helps improve player performance and aside from that I think I might regress some of my offensive attributes since they clearly aren't doing anything for me and maybe focus on the defensive side maybe since if I have to focus on one or the other now that I am all the way down to below 800 TPE I figure probably I will get more bang for my buck in defense.

I think that Ireland is going to win it all because if there is one thing I have learned from the Hockey Men it is that above all else intangibles like a winning culture and leadership and grit and working hard and being from Ontario and yada yada are what builds a championship and well the being from Ontario part we fall short of but there is no winning culture in the IIHF like that of Ireland no sir we recently won not one not two not three not four but five gold medals in a row which is a feat unlikely to ever be matched and so that winning culture will surely carry us to glory once again even against teams that nerdy analytics dorks would consider to be bEtTeR tEaMs and who have things like superior attributes which do not matter if the Hockey Men are to be believed and the Hockey Men are the ones hired to be on my tv while the nerdy analytics dorks cry in their moms' basements so I am definitely believing the Hockey Men.

Oh yes let me tell you about this week
It made me happy and filled me with glee
The first overall pick Detroit did seek
But were yeeted to fourth, a sight to see
Poor tweedle poor tweedle with the sad face
My former GM and long time teammate
And his disgusting Red Wings, in last place
Karma is real, they finally meet fate
That's not the lottery's only good news
Sunday night the SHL's also ran
And once again the last place team did lose
To that lovely lion logo; San Fran
Missing the playoffs again, such disgrace
But these results put a smile on my face

a. These are absolutely two of the best goaltenders in the league in Cain and Kryyst - which team has the advantage in net in this series?
b. There are two Johnsons in this series - Gabriel (HAM) and Darnell (NOLA). In fact, the two used to host the Johnson & Johnson Podcast together, but they're now on the ice as bitter rivals. Which team has the better Johnson?
c. The Specters won both regular season matchups, but Hamilton finished with better team stats overall. Do regular season head-to-heads provide an accurate forecast for a playoff series? (answer predictively if it hasn't happened yet; reactively if it has.)
d. If SDCore offered you an all-expenses paid week-long vacation to either New Orleans or Hamilton, which city would you choose to go to? (tough choice I know lol.) How would you spend your time there?
a. I think Kryyst might have the edge as he won the Anton Razov award for playoff MVP last season but then again Aleister Cain is also really good as he had a 90.3% save percentage this season and 2 shut outs and a 2.78 GAA but Kryyst outdid that with a 91.3% save percentage this season and 8 shut outs and a 2.22 GAA so I think that the Hamilton goal tender has the goal tending advantage this series but in a short series like this anything can happen
b. I think that once again that Hamilton has the better player between the two as Darnell Johnson had 1 goal and 8 assists and I think that scoring is more important than hitting and blocking shots since the score is how we determine who wins a game and the winner of games is how we determine who wins the series and therefore the championship and Gabriel Johnson had 8 goals and 36 assists so I think he might be the better of the two
c. The answer here is sometimes because if two teams play each other like 20 times in a regular season and one team wins like 18 of those 20 and 12 of those are by multiple goals then yes you could find some credence in something about that match up favoring the one team and you would probably feel good about your forecast but 2 games is basically nothing lmao so no I put approximately zero stock in that particular head to head record
d. What the fuck how is this even a question first of all I would rather visit like Billings, Montana than Hamilton because not a lot of people know this but Hamilton is in CANADA which is gross and cold and devoid of life but when you match up a gross city like Hamilton with an awesome city like New Orleans I mean come on it's New Orleans in a landslide and as for how I would spend that vacation I can assure you that I would not remember

After coming off such a great season in S53, where we managed to win the Four Star Cup, this season feels like the absolute pits in comparison. The team couldn’t seem to string together passes let alone wins, and my player felt like he got worse instead of getting better. There was no pattern of consistent performance – I’d be doing well one game, and then absolutely terrible and awful the next game with no reason or rhyme – and I was so frustrated. I thought it was my build, and I shifted to be more defensive to let my partner players take a more offensive role, but that only seemed to help just a little, and didn’t really help the situation much if at all. Considering the fact that I could barely claim 3 milestones compared to the full 6 for last year’s set of milestones, it seemed that this year was destined to be disappointing. I am unsure whether to attribute this year to strategies, tactics, or just FHM fickleness, because it seems like the team as a whole was struggling to achieve the performance that we had last year. It still feels like there is a secret setting where winning the Cup makes everything doubly as hard in FHM. Next season, I am called up to Winnipeg, probably playing 3rd pairing minutes. I hope to basically hold my own in that role against higher TPE players, and if I come out with a positive plus minus and a Corsi above 50 percent, I will call that a win. Ten points might be a stretch considering the lack of production I had as a SMJHL player but that is also my goal for the first season in the major leagues.

Being out of the playoffs makes it a bit painful for me to continue watching. I do keep up with the progress of the teams through the conference finals, and will maybe watch a game or two of the finals, especially if it concerns the teams where I have friends playing (go Anaheim!) but in general once it’s done, I’m also done. I am personally going back to Ornskoldsvik to spend some time with family, but I am also putting time in to be ready for the World Junior Championship, and also the IIHF tournament that is coming up. This will be my last World Juniors, and Team Sweden is looking strong, so hopefully we have a chance to get into the gold medal round like we did last year – and this year I won’t be satisfied with silver. I want that gold medal, and then after that I will continue to get ready for the SHL season coming up soon as I want to make sure I am not going to let the Winnipeg Jets down when it comes to my turn to get on the ice.

It has been publicized a decent amount on this site but Hamilton prospect Andrei Kostitsyn's brother Sergei appears to be missing. Does anybody know where Sergei? What have you done/what can you do to help Andrei track down his brother?
Sergei doesn’t seem to be want to be found, so maybe he’s just had enough of his overbearing older brother Andrei trying to track his every move. It seems like Sergei has taken precautions like using a VPN to cover his internet presence, and removing social media accounts, so that it is harder to find out where he is and what he is doing. If Sergei was smart, he would also seek to live in a country that doesn’t have an extradition treaty, and maybe changing his name – he could go by Sergio, perhaps, and maybe he could also grow a moustache to help disguise himself. That way, Andrei can’t find him as easily and he could have a life that is more stress-free and relaxed.

Being that I am more familiar with the World Junior Championship landscape and how the different teams are constructed, I think that Team Sweden has a very solid, mature roster mostly made up of sophomore players and older, which means they have a good chance at the medal rounds. Funnily enough we have a surplus of good defenseman (and one defensewoman) whereas we are lacking in forward players, ending up having to take a few loan players to fill out our rosters. So on the back of our strong defensive play, I think we’re definitely in the play for a medal of some kind. Of course, you can’t discount the perennial powerhouses Team Canada and Team USA, and Team UCORCAL looks scary as always. The fact that Jack Kanoff went to Team DACH also makes them that much stronger. Still, I think like last year, we have the ability to surprise people and take out wins where we shouldn’t have.

I can't complain. I had a good season. I didn't necessarily expect many wins, but I wanted to improve my SV% and maybe get a few shutouts. GAA and wins are team stats and if we're looking at my team, Toronto, you can't expect them to be among the league's best. Those stats will improve slowly over time while the team improves. Next season they should be better. Either way, I was among the league's best goalies in terms of SV% (and GR if we're looking at that FHM stat, too) and I even managed 4 shutouts. Anything better than a .920 SV% I consider great and I was slightly above that even. That's amazing. My team helped me a lot of course. I saw a lot more shots than goalies on good teams and since I'm slowly climbing up to the league's top goalies I do stop more of them. Yet, you can always get better. I'd like my defense to improve in front of me so maybe we can improve our GAA a little together. Maybe under 3 GAA? I'd like to keep my SV% roughly where it is too. (192 words, 3 TPE)

No need to feel sorry for my team. We all knew Toronto would suck this season. Not as much as the season before, but we're not disappointed. We saw it coming. While I can't speak for the rest of my team, I'm not following the SHL playoffs at all. Not because I'm angry or anything, there just isn't any reason for me to watch it. My team has recently started talking about food, cooking and those things a lot - so we share pictures of what we've been eating. We aren't talking about hockey during the off-season. However, that doesn't mean I'm not following any team. As of right now I still watch every game of my former SMJHL team, the Newfoundland Berserkers, since I'm still actively involved in their management group. It's almost as good as if you’re still playing yourself, but not quite. Watching two random SHL teams that I have no connection with just wouldn't be the same. (161 words, 3 TPE)

Yes, of course I've heard about it. I'm heavily involved with Newfoundland so I've heard about the story A LOT. Unfortunately, I'm not really good at finding people, but I can't imagine that there are people in the league that haven't heard about Andrei looking for Sergei now. It's everywhere: on the forum, on his podcasts, on discord, even on twitter. That's probably the easiest way you could help. If you want to help out, just retweet. Maybe I could do that, but maybe I won’t. I haven't really decided yet. By now I somehow believe that Sergei doesn't want to be found. (103 words, 2 TPE)

Toronto:
We have a good team. No, actually we have a great team. Our team is young and we have a bright future. Never forget that. Championship teams don't appear out of thin air. It takes time for them to develop and our management has been working on this for quite some time now. We have all the tools we need for this team to be a winning team. On the goalie front we are ready to win already now. Neither of our two goalies has reached their prime yet. Our starter is basically a super star in the league already and our latest rookie addition will join in the near future. They will dominate for many seasons to come. Our defense is only getting better every season, starting next season. Our forwards could need a little more time, but the first line is great and they're still young, too. Really, looking at this team you can only feel optimistic. We might not be in the playoffs this year, but this team will win championships in the near future. (178 words, 3 TPE)

a. These are absolutely two of the best goaltenders in the league in Cain and Kryyst - which team has the advantage in net in this series?
This is very, very difficult. Both of them are great and both are in a position I'd like to be in. I would likely go with Kryyst here simply because he's had better regular season stats, but only because I couldn't decide otherwise. The GR number tells you a little bit about the overall performance of the season and his was slightly higher than Cain's. Both had two shutouts. During the playoffs both were even better yet and the numbers are more even, but even here Kryyst has a slight edge, so I will give him the advantage, but I wouldn't really be surprised if Cain turned out to be better. So, New Orleans it is. I would do what I usually do in a new city: see some sights and then hit the best restaurants in town. Coming off a great post-season for Elijah Jones, the season started off pretty well. But soon, other teams began to take notice of the third line threat and started shutting Jones down. The season went on and Jones slumped, mustering up only 24 points over the 50 game season. Often, Jones would beat himself up about the performances, but it was a team wide trend of the guys off the top line not performing as well. The team had a great season overall, so there’s that to be proud of. Elijah Jones vowed to hit the gym hard and train all off-season, taking a break only to play in the IIHF tournament for team Switzerland. Hopefully, the hard work will pay off and Elijah Jones will elevate his game next season. Starting off strong is important, but to be a good player, Elijah Jones will need to keep up the pace over the course of an entire season.

I am unable to speak for the entire team, but there is a team watch party with a few confirmed Panthers attending. Some won’t be there because they have already headed back to their hometowns. For most of the off-season, Elijah Jones is going to stay in Los Angeles and train for the next season. Losing in the semi-finals was tough, but the team had an impressive comeback effort that boosted morale. The team is planning on coming back even better next season. Some players have been talking about retirement or entering their last season, so it is a bit sentimental for some of the locker room. We’re going to try our best to win a championship next season. Championships are often won during the off-season when the next champion makes the best off-season moves and the team trains the hardest. The team is relaxed to have some time off before playing again, there were a few players banged up, so getting back to healthy is the goal.

What are your predictions for the S54 IIHF or WJC tournament - how do you think your team will fare this season? Who do you think are the biggest contenders to take home the hardware and why?
Team Switzerland is going to come out the gate swinging. After a lackluster performance, the team full of youngsters is ready to make a splash. The nation recently placed silver a few seasons ago and look to get back into medal contention with this upcoming IIHF tournament. Elijah Jones and Anthony Archer have more games under their belts and ready to use that experience on the international stage. There are a lot of questions about whether this young team is ready to make an impact. That will depend on how the players have progressed from the last outing. Coming into this tournament, the players are better, but also have more chemistry. There are a lot of intangibles that go into successful tournament performances, and team chemistry is an important one. It won’t be a surprise to insiders if the Swiss place in the medal spots. Some of the casual viewers may be surprised, but word around the industry is that Switzerland is a potential dark horse in this tournament.

Which player from the Steelhawks or Specters has a great chance to make the Hall of Fame when their playing days are up? Make the case for that player's HOF bid.
Flacko should have a case for making the hall of fame. The former first overall player went on to post big numbers in the regular season after his time with the Tampa Bay Barracuda. His career has a lot of highlights that makes him a good candidate for the hall of fame. He will even likely go on the first ballot. There’s a good chance he has a lot of good performances left in the tank to make his bid even stronger. A lot of insiders suggest that Flacko has the merits already, anything extra would just make the case stronger. Outside of him, there are other good candidates on both teams.

Elijah Jones would be a good candidate for the job. He’s currently working hard for next season but could take time out of his schedule to cover the final series. There is familiarity for Jones with New Orleans as he has played them in the playoffs the past two seasons. Jones has a sharp look and could provide some diversity to the broadcast crew. Jones has the technical prowess to provide excellent color commentary. He would not be the best at play-by-play, we would leave that to the professionals like Skip Santos, but he would definitely contribute to the spectacle. While growing up, Jones would practice commentating his father’s games and gained valuable lessons from legends of the broadcast booth. There is no worry about Jones being biased, he is a professional after all. Jones would call it right down the middle. To put it bluntly, Elijah Jones is ratings and would benefit the league greatly with his coverage.

Holy heck Gunnar has had a disappointing go of it in the FHM era. He was a little better this year thanks to the help of the good folks in Chicago but he continues to disappoint me. I guess I’m going to just continue to bust my ass for those good old TPE to keep trying to bully him into being better at hockey, but I am STRUGGLING. It's super frustrating because it felt like he was just starting to get good under the fickle, oppressive regime of Simon, only to get sent right back to the drawing board here this season. I attribute it to me just not knowing what the hell I’m doing in this sim engine, honestly. I am starting to get a little bummed out and feel like he might not even be good by the time regression hits, which is real discouraging for how much effort I've put into getting him to where he is. But oh well, if Gunnar burns out, there's always the next guy.

Gunnar is spending a little bit of time getting wasted in his apartment with his dog, and they are going to spend some time sulking before he gets it together and drags himself back to the arena. He's about to be at the peak of his career and this is no time to be wallowing in misery over the failures of the past, even the really recent past. He might catch a couple games of the final, but there will be plenty of time to watch game footage over the summer, so I think it's important to give yourself time to process your disappointments so you don't repeat them. Gunnar will be spending this summer in Chicago instead of going home to Sweden like he usually does; he feels like he needs the extra time to build those good old bonds with his teammates, so he's not fleeing the country like he usually does. Instead, he's going to try to have some of the guys on the team over for dinner a few times and make sure he does his best to put down the kind of roots he knows are necessary for him personally to focus on his job.

Woah this is the first Gunnar is hearing of this, and he doesn't really have any skills as an investigator to go tracking down missing persons. However, if Andrei needs any missing posters made to hang up on telephone polls or to put on milk cartons, I'm happy to help out with that. Probably the most important thing in these cases is to get as many people keeping an eye out for the missing person as possible, so maybe a billboard would even be in order. Just a lot of stuff to make sure everyone knows what Sergei looks like, so they know who they're looking for, as well as any pertinent information about where he was last seen and who he was with.

I am going to be a total homer and predict that Sweden is going to do really well in this IIHF tournament. If I didn't believe in the team, I wouldn't be a part of it, all that cliched jazz. I think this roster has just gotten so much deeper and better in just my own time in the league, and I think we're in a good spot. It's really been very satisfying to be in the Swedish locker room as we've gone from a tiny team that I was on even as an uncapped SMJHL player to a much deeper squad with some real powerhouse players on the roster. I also think the juniors team is looking great and it's been really cool to watch more and more newcomers show interest in bringing their talents to Sweden even if they aren't Swedish by birth. I think both squads have the potential to be really strong this year, and I'm interested to see how my own build factors in.

And I have spent it on the struggle bus
We’ve sadly gone home early once again
Even though I truly believed in us
I struggle to find the back of the net

Missed so many shots I’d like to forget
Played so many shifts that ended “oh shit”
But I shall never give up on my dreams
I will keep doing tasks and earning points
No matter how dreary my outlook seems
No matter how much my play disappoints
Fake hockey for life, whether win or lose
You don’t choose the game, the game chooses…yous.

Joe K didn’t have too many goals in his 416th season in the SHL. What was most important to him was getting the Specters back into the playoffs, and playing whatever role was needed for that to happen. Playing alongside rookie center Mitchell van der Heijden and second year pro Thomas Vanice, Joe K used his knowledge gained over the years and tried to give it to the youngsters. His stats weren’t anything special. Joe K accounted for a mere 6 goals and 9 assists, a far cry from the seasons of 60 points past. He managed to play a bit better defensively, as is his role nowadays, with 74 hits and 34 Shot Blocks. Overall, it wasn’t a great season for him by any account. We know that we’re nearing the end of the road for the long time player, which we can really account to old age. Regression has taken a lot out of Joe K, and as we near his final season, we shouldn’t expect that much more than we saw this season. (176)

The IIHF under the FHM sim engine is probably the worst thing about the switch, sadly. And I say that being the captain for Team USA. Under STHS, the entire site always bitched that USA/Canada were stacked, but thanks to Simon, that never really mattered as much as it was talked about. With FHM though, it matters. We saw that last season as the USA walked through the tournament relatively unscathed as they won the gold. Other high TPE teams like Canada, and Czechia performed exceptionally well too. While anything can still happen in one game sim during the Medal Rounds, FHM tends to give the wins to the better teams time and time again. It isn’t nearly as fun as it used to be, but I doubt that this was a one year exception, and it’ll end up being the norm. For this season, expected to see Team USA battling Canada, Germany, and Czechia for the medals this offseason. (160)
Task 6 – 3 TPE – 12 Total
The only answer that matters here is going to be Calgary Dragons forward Mike Izzy. Izzy has been around the SHL for quite some time and he’s always got some sort of wacky opinion on things. Some good, some bad. But his legendary insight into the game isn’t the only reason to bring him aboard. That’s right, you never know what extras Izzy will bring to the broadcast. You have to assume that he’d be serving the camera crew and the announcers some of his famous #izzy-dogs to start. He may even bring the Parm Pigeon in for a guest spot, asking him his opinion on Hamilton because they’re both birds. Izzy’s son might make an appearance as well, as he’s a future SHL prospect. There’s a lot of fun when Izzy is on the camera and microphone, and you never know what you’re going to get. Once he retires, he definitely has a future in broadcasting. (157)

I feel like there’s nothing left that I can do to help Andrei find Sergei at this point. It feels like they’ve exhausted every option they could to find him already, and its concerning that the results aren’t that great. I think I know what the problem is though. I think Andrei can not find him because he is clean. If Andrei were to sacrifice his clean image, and get “dirty” again, I’m willing to bet his brain would be able to properly figure out just were Sergei is and find him. It’s the only thing he hasn’t tried yet. It may be a stretch, but (Dirty) Andrei never once lost Sergei. Only (Clean) Andrei has. (116)
Task 5 – 2 TPE, 16 Total
At this point in my career, I think its safe to say that Joe K is officially a Hall of Famer. I always hated to say that because I never knew if I’d ever be that good. But after 4 Challenge Cups, an MVP season, scoring over 900 points, being the career playoff points leader, winning multiple other trophies, and leading 3 different franchises to the Challenge Cup Finals? It’s safe to say that Joe K is a first ballot Hall of Famer, hands down. It’s been a fucking awesome ride, and I’m always going to look back fondly on the last 4 years of my life here with Joe K. Jack Klompus could have ended S54 as a solid nominee for the Agante trophy, but that won't happen due to a huge error. Klompus was not correctly updated in the sim for the first 15 games of the season and that cost him big time. He started the season with a measly three points through those 15 games, being the worst on the team. After this was corrected thanks to Core noticing, Klompus lit up. He found insane chemistry with Tinke and ended up second on the team in defensive scoring. His ridiculous +29 almost led the league and he proved to be a force on both ends of the ice. Going into next season, Klompus will have better stamina and some more evened-out offensive stats to hopefully impact his game. The note to take out of this season is to make sure that you check your player when the season starts for the correct attributes! (160)

Being part of the Dancing Clean movement is how I have helped Andrei. While I can't help with the search of his long-lost brother, I can at least help keep my teammate in good spirits. One night last week Andrei pulled us all aside and said that to prepare for the playoffs he was hosting the first Andrei Games. This involved all of the players playing Pictionary and yelling their guesses while mocking each other's terrible skills. It was only at the end of the night when Andrei revealed that he was recording the entire thing with the intention of selling it to hockey media for a bigger bonus. The team laughed it off and a source says "nobody was willing to pay for... whatever that was."(130)

Which player from the Steelhawks or Specters has a great chance to make the Hall of Fame when their playing days are up? Make the case for that player's HOF bid.
I have only been back in the league for two seasons now but if I had to put my money on anyone I would guess Hamilton's Robert Phelps has the best odds. Bringing home some hardware last season and being an all-around star on the ice these past two seasons makes him seemingly the most obvious choice. It seems the Hall of Fame values Cup wins and Hamilton seems to be well on pace to securing back-to-back wins. Add that up with some phenomenal seasons on the ice and he seems to be an easy candidate when you compare him to sieves already in the Hall like Brett Broadway.(110)

(tough choice I know lol.) How would you spend your time there?
a. Kryyst gets my vote for the advantage in this series. It's interesting that two of the best goalies are the ones who make it to the Finals, hopefully showing each team just how important it is to have a reliable keeper between the pipes. Kryyst is the best from this season and could be voted once again as the best. I won't be surprised if that's the reason he wins it all this season. (74)
b. Gabriel Johnson may not be the better of the two on the ice but clearly draws the most attention to his team. Having players in the league who are willing to sign contract extensions with their team should their general manager post slander in the media against Gabriel says everything that you need to know. Gabe gets the nod as the better Johnson because love him or hate him, he is getting more people to keep an eye on everything Hamilton is doing. (83)
c. While the Specters may have been able to get away with the wins, overall Hamilton is simply the better team. Managing to win 38 of their 50 games compared to New Orleans shows that they are the most consistent team of the two. The deciding factor for me is that the Steelhawks were able to score more than double the goals that were scored against them. The Specters were still impressive with 163 goals for but it's not going to be enough. (83)
d. If I was given a trip to either of these cities I would have to choose Hamilton. There isn't anything special about the city and to be honest, New Orleans would probably be more fun but the fact that I am in Newfoundland means that I cannot go over the U.S. border for a trip just for fun! I don't know what connections Core has, but it wouldn't be enough to fight a pandemic. (74)

With the SMJHL Playoffs concluded, Hamilton was very quick to fly prospect Andrei Kostitsyn down to provide some extra colour commentary for the series. With Andrei's history with the game and being one of the top prospects in the Hamilton system, it was expected that he could provide some extra detail to the game for the viewers at home. What the team didn't anticipate however is that Andrei hijacked the broadcast with a plea for Sergei to come home. Andrei then went on a tangent about how Tampa Bay was screwed the SHL Draft Lottery and went on for over an hour about how he was going to fix the team because his co-GM was bringing vodka to Tampa. Someone cut Andrei off to inform him that he was not GM of Tampa Bay and he yelled before taking off. He was a great addition to the broadcast team though clearly because it was the best ratings of the entire series once word got out. (165)

Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season?
My season started off poorly in the first half of the season and it was beginning to be very frustrating that the goals weren’t coming for my player. However after the all-star break, I feel I was one of the better players in the SMJHL and ultimately finished up with a career best 11 goals and 21 assists while playing very well defensively. I don’t think I will get the award (or even necessarily nominated, but FHM itself awarded me the Brandon Holmes Trophy for best defensive forward. I finished the season 16th with a Corsi For% of 60.6% and 21st in the league with a Fenwick For % of 58.9% so the advanced statistics like my player fairly well too. My favorite stat is that I was 7th in the league in Shots Against/60 minutes so I feel my player’s build is turning into exactly the type of player I have been aiming for: a strong two-way center. Next season, I am expected to remain in juniors and so it may be more of the same and I would be fine with that.

After last season, it was disappointing to be defeated in the finals, but after the huge regular season success we had this season, it really felt like it was cup or bust. I’ll probably follow along, but I’m probably not going to be watching as I don’t feel I could root for any of the remaining teams. Instead, we’ll be doing the typical offseason hockey regimen: getting better at our golf game while trying not to think about what could have been. I’m not that good yet like some of my older teammates like Adam Scianna, but it’s nice to get some practice in once in a while. I guess hitting long slappers from the blue translates pretty well into golf. After that, some of us will rent a boat and float down the Okanagan Lake. It’s summertime after all and some river cruising is something many of us haven’t had the chance to do in a while. I know I can’t wait for that before we have to get back to the daily grind chasing our dreams of a championship.

Once again I think the big countries like USA, Canada, and Germany will be up there. Czechia was a surprise last season to some and it will be interesting to see if they can duplicate their success. With one game series a lot of this depends on how much the managers have learned over the past couple of months on top of their experience. My country is the USA and I think once again they could win the gold medal, but with the new transfer rules it is going to be difficult to continue that success in the future.
For the WJC, I am (along with Geekusoid) one of the GMs for Team USA. I think we have a very good shot at medaling this season and taking home the gold. I think DACH is a strong competitor to us and Canada could always surprise like they did last season. I really think it will come down to who has the best tactics for their squad or maybe who gets hot at the right time.

Which player from the Steelhawks or Specters has a great chance to make the Hall of Fame when their playing days are up? Make the case for that player's HOF bid.
I know Joe Kurczewski is an easy one, but Robert Phelps has to also be a shoe in at this point, keeping his point production up so late into his career. After this season, he has accumulated 851 points which puts him in the top 20 all-time scoring and if he has a couple of more seasons, top 5 may be within his reach. He has won the Ryan Jesster, has been 2nd Team All-Star three times, and is a two time Challenge Cup Champion and a gold medalist for Team Canada. With a couple of more seasons, he could reach the 1000 game mark, something few players achieve.

a. These are absolutely two of the best goaltenders in the league in Cain and Kryyst - which team has the advantage in net in this series?
I have to give Hamilton the advantage here in net. While Cain had a good season at first glance, he had a negative GSAA at about -6 and Kryyst had a positive one with about 5. Kryyst finished the season finishing ahead of Cain in every single major statistic: 2.22 GAA vs. 2.78, .914 Sv% vs. .903, and even had 8 shutouts compared to Cain’s 2.

I think head-to-heads give time for the GMs to react to what a GM did in the past, but I don’t think they give an accurate forecast. But, they do give an indication of how close the two teams are. Both Los Angeles and Buffalo tied their season series with the two conference champions at 3 apiece and both took them to seven games in the playoffs.

What are your predictions for the S54 IIHF or WJC tournament - how do you think your team will fare this season? Who do you think are the biggest contenders to take home the hardware and why?
I think for WJC Team World has a good shot at winning some hardware, and this isnt just me being biased as my player is on the team. The team has grown alot, back when i GM'd the team in S51 and S52 i had to use brand new 155 rookies and some IA's inorder to fill out the team, but this year Team World is loaded with players, and if i remember correctly we only have 2 S55 players and quite a few returning players
And for IIHF this is my first season as the Team Norway Fed Head, and while i would love to say we are going to win Gold this season, i know thats a stretch, but i definitely think we have a good shot winning more games than we did last season and possibly getting into the medal rounds, and once we get there who know, maybe our SimonT overlord dressed as FHM will give us some lucky bounces

Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season?
I am both happy and disappointed with my players performance this season. on the plus side i set a record high in Goals, +/-, Hits, and Shots Blocked. But i also lead the league in Giveaways. In the playoffs i had a better give away to take away ratio but got only 3 points, and this hurt as in this last season our team really needed just a few more goals to possibly win the series and go on the the finals. I honestly dont know what caused me to give up the puck so much, maybe it was my low puck handling. I can attribute my increase in hits and shots blocked to my respec in the previous offseason, where i put more points in checking, positioning and shot blocking.
Now in regards to doing better next season that is a toss up, as i am being called up to the big leagues, and joining the Texas Renegades. Im not sure yet what position i will be filling for the team, but if i could match my stats from this past season up there, i think that would give me an excellent shot at the rookie of the year award

No the Kelowna boys did not have a watch party for the 4-star cup. After losing the Anaheim in the conference finals, everyone took a break to cool down. we were really looking forward to a good run at the cup, and were rather heated after we dropped the ball and lost. I watched the finals as i had some good friends on both teams, Stein Nilsen on CAR and Strom Chamberlain and Rhys Pritchard on Anaheim. All of them played well, but it was Carolina who came out on top, which was good as Anaheim won the cup in S52 so i was happy to see Nilsen be able to raise the cup.
In regards to Texas, i know they watched the Challenge cup finals, but i was still in Kelowna at the time so i wasnt able to watch it with them, but based on their reactions in the group chat many of them were as shocked as I wen Nola swept Hamilton,

A. Cain is definitely the better goalie on paper and stats wise, but Kryyst has the better name. But then again Kryyst just got Hamilton a crazy return in the recent trade. Hamilton got a 1st a 2nd and a 3rd possibly a 2nd as well as a lower TPE goalie in return
B. I mean this is a tough question, and would require alot more than 50 words, but i will do my best. Starting with Nola's Johnson, Darnell, He got into trouble last season with the league on some technical issues with Nola's lines so thats a strike against him, and Hamiltons Johnson, Gabriel, is stinky so thats a strike against him. Id say the better Johnson are the people not named Johnson
C. Depending on how a team is run i think head to head matchups could be a really good indicator. it seemed like Hamilton had their one strategy which was strong against the majority of the SHL teams, but Nola's coaching strategy countered that and Hamilton was not able to adapt.
D.Obviously i would spend it New Orleans. I couldn't even imagine the party's that went on after game 4, the whole city must have been raging all night and well into the next day. But also, what even is Hamilton, i had to look it up to figure it out, looks like a small city out side of toronto, ohhhh so exciting.

When looking back at this season, the overwhelming feeling will likely be disappointment at the end result of crashing out of the playoffs early. But in terms of individual performance I don't think it is a stretch to say that Forrester had something of a breakout sophomore season. Ironically, the entire season had a regression in playing time for Forrester, but that ultimately played to his advantage as he got to play with his favoured line-mates; Patric Twist and Ryuuji Minamino. Being on the same line as the points leader will give you good opportunities to impress with the ice time you have, and in terms of assists Forrester did just that - in 50 games, he banked 38 assists, 6 more than anyone else. If there were any negatives from his play in the season it was his shooting; shooting 5.22% and scoring only 6 goals total is not the great production necessary to help carry his team to the Four Star. As such, working on his scoring chops will take precedence this offseason, as the passing skill is obviously already there. Hopefully next season - which will hopefully still be in a strong Berserkers team - will be just as fruitful for the Tied-6th highest scorer in the SMJHL.

The lads in the Newfoundland Locker Room were massively shocked by losing to the Carolina Kraken in the playoff semi-finals. And frankly after being stunned in such a surprising fashion, watching the finals was not exactly the top of our agenda. We let ourselves down by falling at the hurdle we did, and as such we could not get the trophy for Jukka and Potts that we wanted before they left. So, to give them the send off that we felt was necessary, we drank our way through the Four Star finals. Shots, beers - you name the drink, we probably had a go at that. We played drunk skribbl.io until late into the night. We helped Andrei find his brother Sergei (ask him where we found him, go on, do it.) And then after sleeping off the endless drinking... we got back to work again. We would not any more time off that necessary, as we knew the next season would be a massive opportunity to show the entire league what we know we can do. Hell hath know fury like a Berserker scorned - and if the rest of the teams don't know that now, they will surely find out soon enough.

I'll begin with the tournament I have absolutely no clue about - that being the IIHF. I feel a disconnect to the IIHF as I am yet to reach that level (and it will be a while considering how good the best UK players are at the moment), but I feel as if my picks for the big contenders are somewhat obvious: I will back my boys in the United Kingdom team all the way, but it is tough to say that the USA and Canada are not the heavy favourites to reach the Gold Medal match. They have the most players, the most resources, and likely the most fire to overcome their neighbours when push comes to shove. While there are definitely teams that can pull off a good run - maybe UK, but likely not - those 2 teams are the ones we will likely see duelling for the Gold Medal soon.
Now, for the British Isles in the WJC: our team is very top heavy. We have fantastic players throughout the early lines of the team, so much so that the line of Berserkers (Patty - Matty - Tylar) are the 3rd line in the team, testament to the talent at the top. Last season we had a similarly good team, and we ran through the group stages only to fall short in the first round of the knockouts to eventual top team Canada. I could see us making it to at least the Bronze Medal match this season, with an opportunity to win the whole thing as long as things go right in the Best-of-1 series.

Welp, you waited until the last day to grind out your CW and the CC finals are longggggggg over by now. congrats to [TEAM], woo! Reflecting back on the series, who gets your vote for series MVP? Make the case why this player deserves it over any other.
(It's not the last day but it's close enough lmao)
With the New Orleans Specters pulling off a dramatic and shocking sweep against the Hamilton Steelhawks, there are so many players that could be given the award of series MVP. However, as a center at heart, I have to give my plaudits to the man pulling the strings for New Orleans all series long - Nicholas Williams. Separating the rest of the series from him 4 assists in Game 3, he was pretty good in terms of points scored. But it is unquestioned that he played his role in the team perfectly, consistently earning 80+ Game Ratings all season long. A lot of people just default to the goaltender or the player who gets the most points, but much like Iguodala in his NBA Finals MVP season, Williams did exactly what he needed to do and did it better than anyone else on the ice throughout the 4 games in this series; and it payed out with a sweep of the very strong Hamilton Steelhawks.
