Valtterri Kauppinen of the Vancouver Whalers absolutely excelled on his junior team this past season. Even before this season he was already a pretty good goal scorer. But now, with a huge upgrade in his time on ice with the departure of Vancouver's forward core of veterans such as Daniil Nikiforov, he was able to bury the puck in the back of the net a total of twenty seven times along with assisting on a total of thirty goals, for fifty seven total points. While I am a little bit disappointed that due to a late season scoring funk Kauppinen was unable to get over sixty points, he certainly made up for it with his performance in the playoffs, especially in the series against the Detroit Falcons (which ended up being a 4-0 sweep for the Whalers). In that series, he had managed to set an FHM-era SMJHL record, where he scored seven points in one game. Overall, a good season and post-season for Koopatroopanen. 2. (2 TPE) While this idea may not be exactly the best (what with an option like Playmaking Defenseman existing), there's a difference between a playmaker and setup man on FHM's engine, so let's go with the Setup Defenseman. The Setup Defenseman will always be on the lookout for an open teammate to possibly move the puck to, and is also willing to throw the body in order to maintain possession of the puck. Key attributes for the setup defenseman include passing and hitting, while important attributes are offensive read, strength, stickchecking, and balance. When the defenseman hits, he hits like a truck, and has the balance to keep himself on his feet and his stickchecking allows him to fish out the puck from the opposing player without taking a penalty due to tripping or hooking. 3. (3 TPE) Over this off season so far, the Vancouver Whalers have been involved with a number of charitable organizations located in the city of Vancouver. Among the players on the team, the Whalers' winger and assistant captain, Valtterri Kauppinen, has especially gotten himself involved with a bunch of charities and other organizations. While the Vancouver Whalers donated large sums of cash to foundations such as the Hockey Education Reaching Out Society - also known as HEROS - Kauppinen himself managed to sneak his way into multiple charity auctions and events, where he signed jerseys, sticks, and many other items. On top of this, he has also showed up to a handful of high school hockey training sessions, where he once again signed memorabilia and sometimes even coached some of the kids on how to get their skating form, or their shooting skills, just right. Overall, many, many people were made happy this offseason by the Whalers organization. 5. (2 TPE) I am not going to go with the obvious answer for the best team to not make the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League's Four Star Cup finals with the Quebec City Citadelles. Absolutely not, I am going to go with the virtuous and great Whalers out of Vancouver. Now, I get it, they struggled during the regular season. But you have to keep in mind that had it not been for an incredible midseason slump, where the Whalers were wracked with fitness and stamina issues for weeks and months on end, they probably would have been third or even second in the western conference. Once Vancouver recovered from their stamina woes and made it into the playoffs, we saw what they could really do - when they eliminated the Nevada Battleborn in 5 games, and the Detroit Falcons in a clean sweep - where Valtterri Kauppinen set a single-game points record. Sadly, the Whalers fell short, but not for a lack of effort - Anaheim Outlaws goalie Vincent Mietitore bailed out the team. That's why I think Vancouver was the most scuffed team out of the finals. 15. (3 TPE) breezy 16. (3 TPE) While Whalers star winger Valtterri Kauppinen may be over the age of eighteen, me, his creator, certainly is not. Because of this restriction on myself being a minor at fifteen years old, I am instead going to have to opt for and create an 'OnlyFriends' account in place of the would be OnlyFans account. On everybody's favorite Koopa Troopa's OnlyFriends account, you will have the option of talking to the Whalers winger at least once a day for five minutes at a time, unless he doesn't like you, in which case you get two minutes at most. On top of that, Kauppinen will also post highlights of goals that he has scored simply to stroke his ego, and you will be able to comment and reply under these posts - just like on Twitter, or rather Facebook if you're a boomer. As the cherry on top, you will have to pay twenty real dollars a month (or one million SHL dollars a month) in order to access the account. Why? I'm broke and need money, that's why.

Appeals Committee S10 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:1. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) I would say that I had an average season but now that I'm entering the twilight of my career and have to battle huge regression losses each off-season, I guess that is the new norm that I kinda have to get used to and accept at this point. The year started relatively slow for my player but I picked up my game as the season went along and put up quite a lot of points late in the year - sadly I couldn't carry my torrid pace from the tail end of the regular season into the playoffs, where my whole line didn't perform to the standard we set for ourselves. It does kind of hurt to not be the franchise player that I used to be any more but that means that it's time to move into more of an elder statesman role at this point and leave the place in the spotlight to other, younger player, support them along the way and help them reach their potential. Quote:3. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) The last few years have been a wake-up call for a lot of people and my player is no different. We have seen democracy as well as the concept of truth itself come under attack from both within and the outside, all the while the planet is dying due to the inaction of humanity in regards to climate change. So while visiting children in hospitals or serving food in a homeless shelter are great causes that make for great photo ops, my player is trying to get involved in some bigger picture issues to help promote change that makes the world as a whole a better place. This includes pro-democracy causes both at home and around the world, organisations that support the work of independent journalists and free-thinkers as well as grassroots groups who had already started picking up steam pushing the climate issue onto everyones agenda until Covid hit, which stifled the effort somewhat. Quote:5. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) I would say there are two ways to answer this question, the one where you go for the teams that actually performed the best and at a consistent level all year, and the one where you go for the team that impressed you the most for whatever reason. If I went for the first approach then I would have to say Buffalo or Edmonton and I would probably lean Buffalo just because they didn't run into conflict with the rules while doing so. I think I would favor the second approach though and go with the Winnipeg Jets who had a meh regular season but then impressed a lot of people in the playoffs, resoundingly beating the favorite LA Panthers in the first round of the playoffs and then moving on to posing a huge challenge to the stacked Hamilton Steelhawks on their way to the finals, which I guess is the closest you can get to a surprise upset nowadays in the FHM era. Quote:7. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Michael Scarn is the Taylor Hall of the SHL because he signed a one-year deal as a Free Agent with the team that put him in the best position to pad his individual stats, to get him in a prime position to negotiate a multi-year deal afterwards. Only slight difference that this team in the SHL were the Hamilton Steelhawks who are perennialy good whereas in the NHL it was the Buffalo Sabres who... are not. Knox Booth is the Ryan Miller of the SHL, more specifically the Ryan Miller of the Buffalo era. Being one of the best goalies in the league playing on an average team that for some reason and despite his great performances never managed to go deep in the playoffs, but still staying loyal to them and giving his best. Also Ryan Miller ended up in the LA area after he left Buffalo (via trade by the way and not because he signed elsewhere), which makes for a nice connection as well. Quote:12. Well we know the winner now, but honestly I would have given the edge to Hamilton before the series due to their proven track record when it comes to winning big, and because they have both the skill and the ruthlessness to extract every little bit of performances out of the engine. c. The Syndicate branding is fine but the Steelhawks are just an all-time classic that never gets old. The team name might be a bit ridiculous when you actually think about it but the color scheme, the logo and the teams history are just incredible and have stood the test of time with really only just minimal changes. In his 8th season in the SHL, he really stepped up and showed some of his veteran prowess out there on both the offensive and defensive end. He set career highs in all scoring categories, even if you scale the numbers back to a 50 game season as opposed to the new 66 game season. It's incredible to see the growth that has occurred both personally for him and for Texas as a whole when you look at the numbers this season compared to his rookie year. There's no question that he established himself as a valuable player this season. While I wouldn't go as far as to call him elite by any means, this season he certainly showed that you can throw him in the top 4 of any defensive core and you'll see positive results. There's still a bit of room to grow on either the offensive or defensive end, but he's a very capable two way player as it is and is soon to hit regression. I believe this upcoming season we will be witnessing peak Noah out on the ice. Quote:3. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Noah has decided to really get behind the ASPCA, or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, this offseason. He has been partnering up and has been a sponsor for them for some time now, but this offseason he has really upped his game as far as attending fundraising and volunteering events. He has volunteered his time and made appearances in multiple commercials to help draw attention to the cause. It's amazing what a simple celebrity appearance can do to spice up the success of an advertisement. He has also attending a number of fundraising events like the annual chili cookoff where contestants pay to enter their chili into the event, and tickets are sold to people wanting to attend the event. Noah participated as one of the celebrity judges for the event and also took time to take pictures with fans that were attending the event as well. He plans to continue his partnership with the ASPCA for many years to come. Quote:5. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) I don't think many people were surprised to see Chicago squaring off against Hamilton in the finals this season. Those are easily two of the top teams in the league and anything less than a finals appearance for either of them would have been a disappointment. That being said , there were a number of good teams that unfortunately had to fall short this year. One of these teams that I believe had a good chance of making the finals was Buffalo. That Great Lakes division is insanely good and I would have thought any of the big 3 in that division could have won the cup. Buffalo was the odd team out this season, but I think they have such a strong lineup on both the offensive and defensive ends, including a good young goaltender on the back end. They're an early pick for me to make the final 4 again next season. Quote:13. Written, 2 TPE - The Procrastinator Special! (100 words min.) Chicago vs Hamilton, the matchup we all expected. I must admit though that I'm a bit surprised Chicago was able to take down Hamilton in only 5 games. I had previously predicted that Hamilton would win this series. If you had told me Chicago would win, I would have said there's no way they win it in fewer than 6 or 7 games. Chicago had a number of players step up to the challenge in this series, but my series MVP has to go to Nick Connolly. This man was a beast on both ends of the ice, leading the team in scoring and also having an astounding +14 +/- rating over the course of the entire playoffs. Quote:15. The world isn't quite ready to see Noah's OnlyFans right now, but if he was forced to start one at this time then there would be no doubt about what content would take over the page. The people love a good cooking show, and Noah's OnlyFans account would be filled with clips of him in the kitchen cooking a vast variety of meals. These meals would range from something as simple as pouring a bowl of cereal and milk after a morning shower, to a 7-course meal being prepped for a dinner date, to a tantalizing 8 hour bbq pulled pork slow cooker meal while Noah reads aloud from the latest John Grisham novel that he's reading. Subscribers would be able to submit requests for what they'd like to see Noah cook next and what they'd like him to wear while he cooks (or what they'd like him to NOT wear while he cooks...) 3 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 3 = 16 TPE

Simmer General Dumbass of the Site Code: 1. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) The season is over in the Simulation Hockey League and the Chicago Syndicate are the Season 57 Champions. I have been waiting almost 2 full years to be able to say those words. On the ice this season Corey Kennedy did fairly well, although definitely a down season from his Scott Stevens award winning year previously. Though none of that really matters because his team, the Chicago Syndicate, beat the Hamilton Steelhawks for the Season 57 Challenge cup. They were the top two teams in the league all season and it was no real big surprise that they were facing each other in the end. What was a surprise was the Chicago ended up winning fairly easily. Individually Kennedy is starting to show some age and younger guys are starting to step up, which is great since, he leads the team in time played and minutes as a defensemen for almost a decade. Things are changing, but winning this year feels so sweet. Code: Code: This off season, Corey Kennedy, has decided to give back in a very him way. He is partnering up with his teammate Gunnar Soderberg to give back in the inner city of Chicago. They are going to run add campaigns and do some outreach at local animal hospitals and shelters. Both players are known animal people, who have dogs and animals of their own, so it was an easy decision for them to take it to this cause. In Chicago, the shelters can be over run with what people see as aggressive or violent breeds often sit in the shelter for long time. Kennedy is the owner of a Large Breed and knows the frustration that comes with people being timid of his goofy, big, lovable dog. He wants to let everyone know that just because a dog is big, different, or misunderstood, they deserve just as much love and can be loyal and well behaved dogs. Working with local shelters to help change that perception, is his off season goal, Gunnar just wants all the pets. Code: [b] The IIHF is upon us and we go into another year of who is going to win, who is going to lose, who is going to surprise. I think we will start off by saying that once again as always, The United States and Canada are the favorites for the title. That being said, you will see some sneaky good teams coming from Japan and Austria. I think a player like Daniel Smeb could surprise some people as usual and come out with a really strong campaign to beat the top teams. You might also see a young Irish team, do some shocking of their own. They have a really good mix of old and young and one of the best goalies in the league. It will be interesting to see if they can surprise some people as nobody really has looked at them very long this season. Another team who could surprise is Sweden. They are really good, but have an underrated value for sure. Code: 12. Written, up to 4 TPE - Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Registered Just an old member Code: Code: The S57 season for Valtteri Aalto was technically his 3rd year in the SMJHL but his first as a starter for the Detroit Falcons. It was a season for rediscovering his hockey passion after a year away from the sport and showing people that he was not just a one and done player. Detroit had its early struggles, and it did not help that Aalto was kinda swiss cheese as the newly minted starter in Detroit. It would obviously be a transition year for the Falcons after they lost their time-tested starter in Odinson. The Falcons would then go on a run in the mid to end of season games and with more confidence in the team scoring and winning, Aalto’s game also took another step in the right direction. The season would end with a 3rd place finish in the East and a playoff birth. We will skip over the playoffs for Detroit and focus on Aalto’s 57 games played, 30-21-6 record to compliment a 2.73 GAA, .914 SV% and 6 shutouts. Look for Aalto to keep that form with this team next season! Code: Code: Valtteri Aalto seems like a quiet character that no one really knows about since coming into the SMJHL and SHL scene. There was an article when he first entered about his strange history having a very Finish name but representing the country of Japan and it mentioned his love of racing and hockey. After his year off and finding himself back home, he has really spent his off seasons getting ready for the next year and volunteering where he can. He still competes in things like iRacing during the season and returns to Japan to help with kids starting in karting and showing them some things while donating certain equipment and even has team he sponsors. And the obvious one is helping in the handful of rinks with kids. When he is not helping the goalies learn the spot you can see a lot of Pride and Falcons jerseys around the rinks he helps out with. Code: Code: I might be biased with this answer, as I am sure most of these responses probably are but the Detroit Falcons. Yes they had a rather lack luster year but they are still young and hungry and ended the year on a high note going on a little streak and getting a buy into the playoffs. I can tell you there was a lot of excitement going into that playoff series and still a believe throughout it that we could turn the corner and go on another run but it did not happen like that and I think if we could have made it out of that series we could have contended. Code: Code: Yes the SHL finals have come and gone, and the Chicago Syndicate rein supreme this year. Chicago did not have an easy ride to this Challenge Cup Final with both the quarter and semi-finals going the distance before Chicago came out victorious. They then had a rather easy ride to the cup with a 4-1 series win and led by their top players Nick Connolly, Daniel Smeb, Gunnar Soderberg and Martijn Westbroek who all had 20+ points in the 24 games played. The one that really stands out though is Nick Connolly who has 23 points a plus 14 and all those points came 5v5 which should not be overlooked. Code: Code: Verification: Aalto Code: Code: OnlyFans has become all the rage right now in the online circle of things. We have even seen some people launching full careers on it and branching out to sell bath water? Did I read that right? Anyway, even some athletes are getting in on the action. Valtteri Aalto decided to get in on the action and even though most of the public sees it as a XXX place, athletes like Aalto are using it to make a little supplemental income. Aalto has started a small community of goalies looking to get work in from a future SHL goalie and with the way the world is working right now, online training is the way to go and with the small overhead of not building your own app its perfect! But for the fans with deep pockets they might even get a little more depending on the price, it is still the internet, anything goes!

Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season? I think the season was pretty average for me in Los Angeles. Obviously I would have loved to have more points and played a more prominent role but I am also a little behind on TPE compared to our top line players so I will have to continue biding my time just a little while longer until I get enough to make the jump to that top line. I think overall just not doing so great in points last season can be attributed mostly to not having great depth just yet. While our team has some good pieces overall we needed some 3rd liners and top end defenseman to push over the top and it put everyone in a more defensive structure it feels like. Going forward next season I will be working on my offensive game pretty heavily. I will have a lot of TPE coming in as I push over 1500 TPE during the season and should be in a good spot to finally make some good gains on the scoresheet. 173 words 15. Written, up to 4 TPE - Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. a. The season series between these two teams was tied 3-3. Do you think either team has an advantage in this series or do you see it as a true toss up? b. Each of these teams boasts a very strong first powerplay unit - which team has the special teams advantage in this series? c. Which of these two teams' brandings do you prefer? Take into account colors, logo, name, location, and anything else you consider relevant. d. Would you rather get a lap dance from Hugh Jazz, have a staring contest with Luke Atmey (velv's old player), reach for objects on high shelves with Dale Miller, or play League with Parker Smeb? A. I think it was a true toss up for sure. While Chicago did end up dominating the finals for the most part in the wins column I do think it could have went either way and both teams were far and away 2 of the best teams in the league all season. So it was no surprise that they got to the finals with a season series also tied. 69 words B. I would have to go to Hamilton just based on what I think on the eye test. With their top end talent on both the forward lines and defensive blue line it is truly hard not to give them the edge when I believe their 2nd power play unit could easily be a 1st power play unit on most teams in the league with their TPE. 66 words C. I think I definitely prefer Chicago's color scheme the most as well as their city placement. Chicago is a great city especially for hockey and the black and yellow/gold is a number 1 color scheme in hockey for sure. I'm not a huge fan of either team's logo or name though as birds are overdone and the entire mob theme with Chicago is definitely overdone at this point. 69 words. D. This is definitely a tough question as all of these sound terrible to be completely honest. I am happily married so a lap dance does not sound appealing in the slighest. Reaching for objects on a high shelf sounds tedious and tiring. Playing league definitely sounds terrible no matter with who. So I guess a staring contest with Atmey wins by default for me. 64 words 7. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) SHL-NHL comparisons. With the NHL season kicking off again, what are some team or player comparisons between SHL and NHL? Pick one (or more) comparison(s) and explain why it works (e.g., Monkey D Luffy is the Connor McDavid of the SHL because xyz, or the Chicago Syndiacte are the Nashville Predators of the SHL because xyz, or nour is the Gary Bettman of the SHL because xyz). So to make this easier for me I am going to choose my own player and also choose the Los Angeles Panthers, my own team. So for Keith Lee I think he's a good 2 way player who back checks well, is very handy in the faceoff circle but his offensive game is still improving. He doesn't mind throwing his weight around when needed so I am going to choose that Keith Lee is a lot like Ryan O'Reilly because of all this. Great at faceoffs and being a good 2 way center with great defense while scoring a good amount but not an elite goal scorer. I think Los Angeles as a team is probably most like Pittsburgh right now, especially with the injuires Pittsburgh has. Both teams have a lot of young defenders who are still waiting to make the big time while some older Inactive or ineffiecent players (Matheson, Ceci) are still on the blue line in the mean time. Both have top forwards in Crosby and Malkin like Sloth and Atreides while having young studs for depth to fill in like Lee and Wagner compared to Guentzel and Zucker. 193 words 6. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players? Like every season since the switch to FHM I truly believe that the same few teams are going to be the most dominant and will win it all. Canada and USA are obviously the most stacked on any given tournament with their large player pools to choose from so they have to be the early favorites each tourney regardless of the previous ones. Great Britain and Czechia also have some amazing teams I think could compete as well this season and my prediction would be that at least 2 of those 4 previous teams mentioned will win medals if not 3 of the 4. I could maybe see a team sneaking in the last medal if they have a crazy run. Some top players I think will be Michael Scarn, Jimmy Slothface, and Cassius Darrow for their respective teams. The picking top players for IIHF is usually a little more difficult with such diversity in rosters compared to SHL but those top guys are usually hard to beat. 168 words

1. Are you kidding? We won a fucking playoff series, get the fuck in, I don't give a single legitimate intimate fuck as to whether my season didn't end with me thunder punching a fucking wall, we fucking won, boys. We fucking won, wooooooooooooooooooo!
But in all seriousness, I'm cool with things as they are, yeah. I guess you could argue that maybe getting my player to be better would have improved our season but so far I don't really have any major complaints in regards to my run so far although maybe having a bit more of interaction would be cool, given that I was not exactly around all the time and my life has been under some rough circumstances due to a myriad of things happening all the same time - such as my start at therapy and more work on my graduation thesis. I also distanced myself from some old friends over certain things, so it wasn't exactly an uneventful start of the year. 2. The class clown. A player that isn't particularly good at anything but serves to help the mood of the team and increase chemistry. As a result, he should not be able to score boatloads of goals but he would be key to improve the team's performance in ways that do not directly do anything to the team's talents on ice. Basically a support piece in a mind game, someone that you can use for several things but none of those in a key form. As a result, their stats would require to be fair low or at least mid-tier, simple as that. It was also what I came up with just to fulfill your requirements for this, cheers. 3. As a true believer of the ways of charity, Yoshimitsu McCloud has often been seen making all sorts of donations and giveaways for those in need, so being in the off-season or not - which means that he only avoids doing goodwill acts when he has practice and even then he usually skips that when nobody's looking. According to the Irish ninja himself, his favourite bit of charity is toy donation - mostly because he can do those on a run and carefully slide the toys around like packages. In his very own words, it reminds him of living back in Ireland again as he used to deliver bread in a similar way. With the season essentially over now, he has since gone and started to work on the gathering and the donating of winter clothes for the impoverished. When asked if he's able to do this in spite of the current state of affairs in the world, he answered with "I'm a ninja, it's on the blood". 9. Well, the Syndicate have a friend of mine and they didn't beat us on the way of the playoffs, so I guess you could say that they were the better team in my totally not-biased opinions under the scorching heat of Brazilian summer. So eh, guess that it is, then, huh? c. Oh, the Syndicate. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like anywhere in Canada better than Chicago, I'm done with living at the tropics (and if you don't agree with that, try living at Rio de Janeiro for around twenty-five years, see how you like that) and right now, I'd go for anything or anywhere cold. Besides, yellow and black is a killer look. Still prefer white and red though. d. Honestly... how about none of those options? I would feel more comfortable without any of those, if you lot do not mind. Seriously, a lap dance from a grown man? Does your mother know you type that sort of stuff on the internet like this, sheesh, get a grip on yourselves. 15. Yoshimitsu That should be 16 TPE. 1. Considering the age of my player and my fairly decent ignorance of most TPE tasks, Andrej is trucking along just fine. With 31 points he has tied his best season, although he needed 16 more games for it, and scored his career best 8 goals in a single season. Production was good, but besides that, Doskocil is first and foremost a defenseman. Hits and shots blocked look pretty decent, I would have appreciated more hits but I have to admit, when you are a PK player maybe being the primary cause of PKs on your team isn’t a particularly amazing idea, while everyone’s favourite stat, the plus minus, looks pretty phenomenal actually. I think for what it’s worth, I was on a line that produced a big chunk of the points for the team, and even if I wasn’t a part of those points, I got my plus, so my whole job was basically to stop the minuses from coming through and I would argue that I have been reasonably succesful with that. Overall, I think it was a decent season, a decent performance, and maybe my last good season with the player since I might get yeeted into the oblivion of 3rd pair next season (thanks Juke).

From what looked as a dominant regular season came a team that struggled with the surprisingly good Newfoundland team, and then couldn’t beat the forever underachievers of Anchorage, gift wrapping them the cup considering how the brackets generally look like with the 12 team playoffs. Quebec was a little interesting looking at their stats, because while normally super dominant teams are mostly a bit better offensively, but mostly excel at not letting you score, Quebec was mostly just a team that would outscore anyone and it might have backfired on them as their offense couldn’t pull them through after it cooled off a lot. 6. I don’t think IIHF saw that much movement to change the standings and power levels too much. UK, USA and Canada are probably still going to be really good, teams like Japan and Czechia are still going to try and be and spoilers, but ultimately I think that the tourney is going to stay roughly the same as it was last few seasons. From the standpoint of Czechia, since that’s my IIHF team, we actually got a bit older and leaked some TPE thanks to retirement, even though that we got some new blood mixed in there so hopefully we won’t suffer for too long. As for players doing well, it’s hard to imagine some of the most prolific scorers of current seasons not doing well in IIHF even with new teammates. One of the guys that tends to do super well is Japan’s Luffy, since the team relies on him quite a bit to lead the scoring, so they tend to try and feed him as much ice time as they can. Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season? It is safe to say I surpassed my expectations for the season. The last thing I would have expected is to lead the SMJHL in points and set a league record for goals in a season. It was definitely a very satisfying season. Admittedly, I wouldn’t have been as prolific without a great team around me in Quebec City. The end result as a team might not have been what I hoped for, but we will still bring back plenty of talent for next season, and I think another shot at the Four Star Cup is very much in the cards. Ultimately, as a user still looking for my first Four Star Cup on my third player, that is most important to me for the upcoming season. Hopefully we can accomplish that, and if I can continue my strong individual performance that would just be a very nice bonus on the side. 2. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) Create a new skater or goalie role for FHM. In what scenarios is this new player role best utilized? What attributes are considered important attributes to this new role, and why? Which attribute is the key one? In honor of a player who was breaking into the SHL when I first joined the league, I would create the “Charlyb’y” role. Most people don’t remember Alexander Charlyb’y because, well, he wasn’t that good. Sorry bbp. In six SHL seasons, he scored 68 points. He couldn’t even finish with a nice 69 for the meme. What a joke. Still, Charlyb’y was a “faceoff specialist” by design, and won 56 percent of his SHL faceoffs. Even as a rookie, he sported a 56.6 percent success rate at the dot. This was partially a byproduct of making faceoffs one of his strengths in the era when only strengths could be boosted to 99 in STHS, giving him an advantage over essentially every other center in the league who settled for 90 faceoffs to instead have 99 in silly things like “scoring” and “defense” and “literally any attribute that matters after the faceoff.” What is the key attribute? Faceoff, obviously. Duh. Nothing else matters. 4. Written, 1 or 2 TPE HAIKUS - write 2 SHL themed haikus for 1 TPE or 4 SHL themed haikus for 2 TPE. Nothing says “good time” Like watching another fake Hockey game defeat 6. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players? It’s interesting to note that two players in this season’s Challenge Cup finals, Michael Scarn and Daniel Smeb, led the IIHF in points scored during last season’s tournament. There’s no doubt they will be among the stars once again. With that said, the move to FHM has created a more stable IIHF tournament, where the top teams tend to collect medals at a higher clip. Without question, Canada and the United States will factor into the final outcome, as will perennial contender Great Britain. With the Smeb army, Japan has also proven to be a very solid nation, winning Group A last season but missing out on a medal. Can Sweden continue its success from last season’s medal round? They were third behind Canada and the United States in a stacked Group B last season, but collected a bronze medal all the same. It will be interesting to see how they fare in Season 57. 12. It is incredibly difficult to separate these two teams. They match up very evenly across the board, as noted by their 3-3 record against one another during the regular season. If I had to pick one side to prevail, I would pick Chicago. b. Each of these teams boasts a very strong first powerplay unit - which team has the special teams advantage in this series? It’s hard to bet against a power play unit with Michael Scarn on it. He led the league in scoring this season, and racked up 25 power play points while doing so. As dangerous as both power plays are, any penalty in this series could be a decisive one, so discipline will be at a premium. c. Which of these two teams' brandings do you prefer? Take into account colors, logo, name, location, and anything else you consider relevant. I’ve always been partial to light blue teams, perhaps a byproduct of growing up in North Carolina and being a Tar Heel through and through. On that note, I’d have to give Hamilton the branding the edge in this category, although Chicago’s branding is no slouch and pulls off the very difficult task of making a team name that doesn’t end in an S work. d. Would you rather get a lap dance from Hugh Jazz, have a staring contest with Luke Atmey (velv's old player), reach for objects on high shelves with Dale Miller, or play League with Parker Smeb? There’s no doubt I’d rather have a staring contest with Luke Atmey. For one, it would mean Luke Atmey is back in our lives, which would be a plus all on its own. Atmey also had a super-sick sig that I looked at all the time anyways. We also used to be SMJHL teammates in Detroit, so that was pretty cool as well. 15. Reflecting on the most recent season, Joseph Weston exceeded expectations. Faring on the ice rather well, Joseph Weston proceeded to meet and then surpass the individual player goals set for himself, instead of coming up short. This meant that he excelled and can attribute this to shifting his TPE earning back into high gear. For future seasons this means that Joseph Weston will continue to uphold this high standard for himself, wanting to rise in the individual TPE applied ranks of the season 50 members of the SHL community. This however is not an easy task as some members of the community are already at some 300 TPE ahead of Weston, which is incredible to think about. Honestly it’s absurd to think about how far ahead they are, like how did that happen? But gotta keep your head up and keep earning, no matter what. That’s Weston’s goal for this upcoming season. #2: 2 tpe (5) Creating a new skater role for Franchise Hockey Manager 6 is a difficult task. In some scenarios they might be the best player on the ice, in some scenarios they may be prioritizing certain skills or attributes, and some attributes in particular may be overwhelmingly the best for all others. My suggestion for the archetype is a bold new movement, “Commander.” This archetype will be allowed as either a forward or a defenseman, with the caveats that only players designated as a Captain in the files can use it. This will predominantly focus on one’s physical ratings, and will give all other teammates on the ice a potential +1 or +2 to all ratings while they are on the ice together. It will be broken and amazing. #15: 3 tpe (8) Trivia #4: 2 tpe (10) S M J H L I work for the H O team I take great pride here We have many thoughts We work on lots of projects But still more to do Some don’t like it here They want to skip the juniors Play straight in big league Keeps me up at night I don’t know how to solve this What can be done here? #6: 3 tpe (13) Team USA will be the best. USA will win everything. Gold? USA. Silver? USA. Bronze? USA. Everything USA. Nothing not USA. Team USA is the best. USA will win it all. And I mean everything, because it’s team USA. While every word here cannot just be USA, USA still is the best thing here. USA will do everything we can think of. Best scorers? USA. Goalies? USA. Defensemen? USA. Rookies? USA. Every medal will be USA’s. Every stat will be USA’s. USA will be the absolute best. USA is USA the USA best USA. Oh you thought there might be mentions of other teams? Wrong, stupid. It’s all USA. Nothing but USA. Just USA. JUST USA. USA ALL THE WAY BABY. NOTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD WILL EVER FEEL AS RIGHT AS USA. CATCH ME PISSING RED WHITE AND BLUE, THAT’S NOT COLON CANCER THAT’S PURE LIQUID FREEDOM. USA ALL THE WAY. NOTHING CAN STOP THIS TEAM OF PURE BALD EAGLE POWER, HELL YEAH BROTHER. NO STOPPING ON THIS USA TEAM. NO BREAKS, NO STOPS, TOOT TOOT NEXT STOP FREEDOM GOLD STATION. LET’S GO USA. #12: 3 tpe (16) The season series was tied up 3-3 equally between each team. This comes across as a true toss up that nobody can accurately predict, probably because the odds are overwhelmingly in Hamilton’s favor. Oh that means we should predict Hamilton right you might be thinking? Wrong because that’s a bad idea, never predict anything because it’ll go wrong. Just look at Gamestop stock, diamond hands baby to the moon. No stopping. Each of these teams might have a very strong first powerplay unit, even so much that they could boast about it, but which team has the special teams advantage? NO ONE. BECAUSE WHAT DID WE JUST LEARN IN THE PREVIOUS RESPONSE? THAT’S RIGHT DON’T EVER MAKE PREDICTIONS. IT’LL BE WRONG YA NERD. Which of these two teams’ brandings do I prefer? Taking into account everything? Definitely not Chicago’s holy shit do I have gripes about that. Not even disliking the people, they’re all the fantastic and wonderful. But seriously, black and yellow? Those aren’t Chicago colors, those are Pittsburgh colors. It’s a terrible decision because they clash so hard with the Chicago flag, it’s a terrible decision. As someone from Chicago I’m offended on this one.

Historian S3, S28, S36, S38, S41, S43, S47 Challenge Cup Champion Code: 1. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Overall, Jari Heikkinen had a successful season. While he could have been more productive offensively, his eight goals coming on a whopping 165 shots tanking any notion of efficiency in his play, he did put together a very successful defensive year: tying for the title of most takeaways in the league, while nothing the highest plus/minus of any player. Overall, it was exciting to see how effective he played a two-way, speed based game: getting to the right spaces to record takeaways whenever possible. That being said, there is clear room for improvement, and that will largely have to come in the form of offense if he is to take on a larger role for the team next season. It's safe to say that Heikkinen more or less met expectations, but he didn't quite achieve his goals. After not receiving a nomination for Rookie of the Year last season, a nomination that was fairly widely expected, the goal was to put together a more noticeable campaign this year to force those that overlooked him to walk back on whatever lack of regard they might have had. Code: 3. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Jari Heikkinen regularly supports charities which encourage children to get active and participate in hockey from a young age. Generally, this takes the form of both encouraging the donation of second-hand equipment, and helping provide new equipment when possible to lower income communities. Hockey has seen its price of entry grow higher and higher as equipment gets more advanced, in a way that other sports like basketball or soccer haven't. Initiatives like this are a key way to ensure that kids can pursue the sport of their choice, and really get excited for an active lifestyle, as well as a way to ensure that the game continues to grow. For the most part, Heikkinen's work in this area has been centered in and around Quebec City, under the Citadelles umbrella. By tying it so closely to the team itself, he can both increase the amount of awareness he draws to individual charity drives and refurbishing initiatives, as well as get additional funding from the Citadelles organization itself. Code: 5. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) This is going to sound like bias, but the Quebec City Citadelles. The Citadelles were absolutely dominant all season, possessing both one of the best blue-lines and some of the top offensive players to make a solid unit that was tough to beat. I would suspect that the sheer strength of the Citadelles' line-up this year led most people to pick them at least to make the finals, if not to win it all. This was a team sufficiently deep that capped players were sitting on the lower lines, with many of its top players in their peak seasons in the SMJHL. When you add to that consideration a responsive and adaptable coaching staff that managed stamina troubles far better than some other teams, you should have had a recipe for Four Star Cup success. Code: 7. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Perhaps the best comparison I can think of would be the Hamilton Steelhawks as compared to the Detroit Red Wings of old. The Steelhawks are a franchise that has managed to put together an exceptionally long-lasting string of successful years, usually achieved through a combination of clever drafting, smart signings, and a strong team culture. While I can't say that I agree with all of their decisions over the years, they mirror the success that the Detroit Red Wings had through most of the 90s and 00s in putting together consistent, successful, and largely familiar teams. They don't change their identity, and they don't change their level of success. While the teams themselves might have a different make-up, and while they might employ differing strategies, it's that ability to create a legacy for long-term success that really stands out. Similarly, the Steelhawks have enjoyed a consistent head office with some very good management -- management who, similar to the Red Wings, might be more or less popular with you individually depending on how many times you've been knocked out of the playoffs by their team. Code: 16. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Jari Heikkinen is not a very provocative person. If he was so compelled to create an OnlyFans account, it would likely be in order to share his cost-prohibitive hobby with the world. That is, creating model zeppelins and airships. You've heard of model train collectors. That can get expensive enough on its own, especially when you have expansive sets. But Heikkinen? He goes all in for model airships that fly automatically from one stop to the next, simulating a form of air travel that was at once dangerous, majestic, and painfully slow. It's no wonder, given the cost of actually setting up such models, that OnlyFans would be his primary way to display it: similar enthusiasts could pay a small fee for access to videos and pictures, and in return he could put that money right back into his model airships and the day to day expenses that come with them. For an additional surcharge on top, you could even get one of the airships named after you or a loved one -- or a joke of your choosing. Heikkinen is, after all, full of hot air.

5. The best team to not make the finals this season were my very own Edmonton Blizzard. Edmonton has become an SHL playoff staple that last handful of seasons, managing to maintain a championship caliber roster while simultaneously failing to actually win a championship. The Blizzard got "simmed" hard in their playoff series loss to the Winnipeg Jets (now the Aurora), a series in which they were up 3-1 and then went on to lose pretty badly. The team had three of the top 25 scoring forwards in the league and two of the top 5 scoring defensemen. The fact that we didn't make the finals is a travesty, and the Chicago Syndicate should count their lucky stars that they got to face Hammy and not us. Code: 126 words 15.
