S65 mPT #2: Slang
#16

Petr doesn't deal in slang. Petr is Petr: the greatest hockey player to ever have played. Oh, but Petr does say some cryptic things such as "the inevitable goal" which is winning IIHF gold.

playing with my teammates is part of the intangibles I bring to the table
i play with them a lot.
they didn't like it at first
but after a while, it just felt normal

A "carl" is a maneuver done so coolly and effortlessly - be it a deke, a hit, or a saucy pass - it looks like a baby could do it. Panthers pull Carls all day on home ice.

simwen - Used in ATL locker room to ask what time the next sim is, even though the time is pinned to the channel. This is usually copied by those present until it goes answered by hotdog, usually in another unintelligible answer.

Wrammer(s)(ed) (verb):

"Oh man, he just wrammered that puck past the goalie for the lead!"

It's a combination of wrist(shot) and hammer. So instead of saying he hammered it home, you can call it a wrammer so the audience knows it was a wrist shot that did it.

"Pulling a Valor". Slang for constantly standing in front of the net and hopping for a rebound that you could bury quite easily. "Oh look, she’s trying to pull a Valor”.

Wafflesmacked – This is new hockey vernacular designed for the most aggressive of goalies. If someone is getting in your face after the whistle or they’re a bit too aggressive with their ass placement during screens, a goaltender will utilize his or her blocker to bitchslap someone. The person who is slapped with the blocker has been Wafflesmacked.

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhe - this is a city in Ireland that has the world's longest name. So this is what we use to chirp players that are from Ireland because they do not expect anyone on this side of the pond to be able to say that long ass name.

Goalie TPE - when a player earns and spends an enormous amount of TPE only to perform worse than their peers.

Ex: Why is he playing so badly this year? He's top of his class!
Answer: Oh, he's just got goalie TPE, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Weh - is what you cheer after you win a game in the locker room - this should be proper terminology across everywhere as this is already in use in Newfinland

"strawberry daiquiri" -- When a player bleeds on the ice and the referee or another player scrapes the blood off the ice with his skate blade, you end up with a little pile of bloody ice shavings, and that's called a strawberry daiquiri.

Code:
Your task: Come up with a few new bits of hockey slang! Tell me a fun new hockey word, what it means, and why.

The Ben Jammin - When a rookie player leads their own team in penalty minutes during their rookie season. This shall be deemed "The Ben Jammin" as I still have no idea how I lead my team in PIM's with only 5 aggression, but I guess that's FHM for you.

A carrot brain: A player who makes terrible decisions one after the other. Also a player who lacks hockey IQ. The word carrot is used because when they are on the ice it looks like there are in a vegetative state.

Shlap - When you open faced slap a player for their disrespectful play to the game of hockey. Ex. Seamus shlaped that fool for missing an open net, no penalty called for same team aggression.

When you give an official a hard time for a bad call or a bad non call, we should call it "striping". Not stripping, but striping. Or maybe you could say "Hey ref you really striped that one!"
