S67 PT #4: Limited Edition Due: October 16th @ 11:59 PM (PST)

HOCKEY PROMPT Written Task: For this point task I wanted to focus on the coolest NHL hockey memorabilia someone can own. The first has to be a Stanley Cup ring. Good luck ever getting your hands on a genuine Stanley Cup ring as it is probably the rarest piece of hockey memorabilia you can get if you are not a former Cup champion. Framed and matted NHL collages are also pretty cool and a fun way to present your favorite little moments like game tickets or a map of the stadium. Autographed pucks are also an essential part of a hockey memorabilia collection as it is one of the most iconic collectibles in hockey and it’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Getting a player or two to sign one for you makes it unique and valuable. Game issued hockey sticks are another coveted collectible especially when used by your favorite team while playing.

I actually am not super into hockey as a whole outside of the SHL. I do enjoy catching a game if it's on TV, but it's not something I'll go out of my way to fit into my schedule to watch like I will for NFL games. That being said, I do enjoy collecting memoribilia, and purchased a football jersey for my ISFL QB recently that turned out very well. The idea for that came from the Philadelphia Forge ordering hockey jerseys together as a team venture. It's not something that I'm likely to ever wear as I live in the middle of nowhere essentially and as far as I know the nearest rink is about 200 miles away, but it is something that I think will look awesome in my assorted other collection of sports memoribilia and also is a great way to talk about not only the SHL but sim leagues in general as they are one of my biggest hobbies.

The Baltimore Platoon will be showcasing their limited edition jersey next season. It will be to honor the history of the franchise. The 5 Challenge Cups that the franchise has won and all of the players throughout their time. The jersey will be a retro style jersey because everyone loves the retro look. It will be an all black uniform that will have a new design for the logo. It will display just the word "PLATOON" on it. It will have 5 Stars just below it to honor the championships won. It will host 2 patches on the jersey. One on the left arm that is the West Kendall Logo and one on the right for the Baltimore logo. This is to honor both of the locations that the Platoon have used. On the sleeves it will have 27 stripes, 14 on one and 13 on the other for the 27 Hall of Famers that have played for the Platoon Franchise. It will be worn at several home games, mainly at the home games versus the teams that we have won championship against.

Quote:CREATIVE PROMPT - Your franchise is launching a limited edition jersey next season to be worn at a couple of special home games. For some reason the marketing team has invited you to help! I guess they think you've got good ideas? How nice!

For the Maine Timber the limited edition would jersey would have to be a throwback jersey to where the franchise came from and that is the Halifax Raiders. For one night every season the Timber will play homage to the franchise in which they moved from. This will be the only time during the year that the timber will make this merchandise available. They also only sell the merchandise sporting the Halifax Raiders logo at the stadium and it will not be available for purchase at the stadium's team shop. The colors would be black and gray just like the old Halifax colors and jerseys looked like before the move to Maine. The price point would be the same as any other jersey that you can purchase at the shop. This limited edition jersey is meant only to remind fans and the SMJHL community of the appreciation that the Maine Timber have for the organization that allowed us to start our own franchise!

HOCKEY PROMPT

I have a collection of hockey pucks and, to a lesser extent, of hockey sticks that I have broken over the years. Pucks I am not even sure if you can really call it a true collection, but I do have a lot of pucks, so I guess that makes it a collection. Some of them are just random pucks that I ended up with from stick and puck, practices, that sort of thing, but I have several pucks from teams I've been to, game and tournaments I've played in, that sort of thing. These pucks range from juniors, college, and semi-pro, to pucks from NHL games. As for the broken sticks, I haven't broken a ton of sticks, and when I was younger, they were just thrown away, but I've always wanted to build a little something with the broken shafts of my sticks, like a chair or bench, which would be cool for a collection

So I do not really have a bunch of NHL memorabilia to be honest, but I have a couple of neat bits of merch. I have a Minnesota North Stars hoodie and toque from a random Minnesota themed store in the Mall of America. I love the branding of the old franchise, and I am pretty pumped that they are keeping it alive with their merch. The only real hockey memorabilia I own is random stuff from give away nights in the Western Hockey League games. I have a bobblehead from a player that played for our local WHL team that went on to play in the NHL. It's pretty neat, and good quality, but has a big advertisement across the front of the base so it seems a little less cool. If we want to talk about memorabilia outside of the hockey realm, I have received several signed and framed photos of my favorite NFL and soccer players over the years; Harrison Smith, Robert Smith, and Tim Howard.

Written Task: Describe your team's limited edition jersey and why you're doing it! Is it for a special cause? A historic season? Just because it looks awesome? Tell me what colours you'd use, and any special design elements you'd incorporate. How many would you sell to the public and at what price? (150+ words)

It would be the Hamilton Hotdog jerseys. People that are in the known of the hamilton steel hawks lore, know there was once a jersey made for the hamilton hotdogs that featured a hotdog as its main logo, it was the best jersey that was made back in the day, it really never got the light of day, it wasn't showed, it was just merely a team concept that was made for shits and giggles. I think it would be a good meme to bring it out one of these days and it would bring excitement to the steelhawks locker room that could be needed to show support for the team moving forward. It would show a fun side of the simualtion hockey league that I think its currently missing and maybe the teams in the league could come together and announce meme jerszeys for shits and giggles, it would be a nice add.

Jerseys have been a big part of the Philadelphia Forge's identity. From our dashing black and orange thirds to the nacho cheese home jerseys. With that in mind I propose a philly nights promo jersey, which depicts the best parts about our lovely city. On the shoulders, theres going to be a Philly cheesesteak patch, in honor of our most famous dish. The jersey base will be orange and black stripes, kinda like a refs uniform, but actually cool. Then on the chest we will have the skyline of the city, includinf our beautiful arena. On the pants, we have a small patch of city legend rocky balboa to keep us fighting. Lastly on the heart it will have a challenge cup patch, since we are winning the cup next year, so we gotta remember the occasion. We expect this jersey to sell well and a lot during the season. So much we will also offer legends and retired players names as well.

I don't have that much in hockey stuff. I only got into the sport in my teens, and I've never even skated on ice in my life. I do have a few collectables on me.

I have a modest jersey collection. I have my home Dallas Stars jersey I got for Christmas a few years back - no name on it, as putting a name to it risks that player later causing problems or heartache or bad memories. I've also got a Gaelic-style Amarillo Bulls jersey I won at an auction after the game for St. Patrick's Day weekend. The first Amarillo Wranglers game I went to, I got a new home jersey from them then. Hoping there'll be a cool alternate jersey I can get at an auction.

I also have one puck each from three different eras in the history of Amarillo hockey - the Amarillo Gorillas of the 2000s, the 2010s stretch where we had the Amarillo Bulls (now the North Iowa Bulls), and the current era that began last year with the Amarillo Wranglers, all of whom are NAHL teams. The odd one out is one I bought at the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs in August. I think I got the Gorillas puck from my grandparents. The Bulls one, I got while they were still here during their 10th anniversary celebration (the news of their departure came from nowhere), and the Wranglers puck, I also got the first game I saw from them.

So we’d be doing special edition jerseys to commemorate the retirement of our longtime GM SDCore. With his tenure as management as well as his links to franchise cornerstone Corey Kennedy, it can’t be understated what he’s done for the franchise so a special edition jersey is the least we could do. Now as for the design we have to think about what would embody SD’s spirit.

Firstly, the shoulder patches would be replaced by pictures of Cooper and Ghost, two GOATs. Next, the gangster in the logo would be hammering a shot - because he probably got tagged in the shots ping. The jersey’s main colour would be black because Corey is an angsty teenager and it’s still not just a phase. There’d be a jersey patch (no ads yet) which would feature the two seasons that SD won a cup while in Chicago and the inside of the neckline would be embroidered with the last names of all his Chicago teammates (first names for the Smebs since there’s too many).

I've got three jerseys and they mean a lot to me, a couple from the NHL, Ovechkin (signed) and another from Datsyuk.. I also have a Artem Mozgov Jersey from the SHL and I pray to it everyday in hopes that I can become such a sensation as him one day. I don't like to have too many because my closest is already full but I do have a fair bit of memorabilia on my walls, flags from Europeans teams, pictures of Russia players in the WJC and I even have a few light up lamps with logos and such on them. Never really been into trading cards so I don't collect many except for this Vladlen Sodorov card I've been holding onto for years now, no clue who the player even is and the sides are all wrinkled but the Nevada Battleborn logo is dope and I enjoy looking at it

Growing up in Milan, Italy made Pablo Salvatici a no brainer choice when it was announced that a player would be helping to design new Atlanta Inferno jerseys to be worn for a special awesome crazy cool limited edition jersey that will be featured in many games and worn a bunch next Simulation Hockey League season. The team chose to create these jerseys to celebrate a decade in the league (nevermind that milestone already passed a couple seasons ago the team just wasn't ready to celebrate then since they hadn't won the cup) and to also celebrate their cup win from a season ago now that the championship high has worn off. The jersey will be black with a red gradient bleeding up the jersey from the bottom kinda like fire which makes sense because the team is named after an inferno which is fire. There would also be a new shoulder crest that has a bird with a crown on it since they won the cup. Only 200 would be made and hand stitched together by some cool fashion guy back in Milan because he owes Pablo a favour. They would be pretty expensive because Pablo is trying to get the locker room renovated to fit a hot tub and a ping pong table.
