Beyond Kendrick though, isn't that pretty much every popular rapper nowadays?
Kanye strongly begs to differ

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

Kanye made 808s and Graduation. For the most part I agree though

How was Graduation selling out if Kanye was the first one to use electro beats? Hmm Not to mention he was the first rapper (and only) to do a whole CD with auto-tune. No, T-Pain does not count.

1. Graduation was the ultimate made for radio Rap album with features from T-Pain, Lil Wayne, and a Daft punk track. The album was a vast step into the mainstream direction compared to his two previous releases and his release of MBDTF.

2. Kanye jumped on the auto tune bandwagon when it was at its hottest (Lollipop was the hottest single at the time), it was built for radio as well.

FWIW, ASAP Rocky loves Graduation and hates 808s.

I literally just saw the article and thought it was ironic that there's a discussion here that's similar. Figured I'd post it up.

Not sure if you guys heard a few months back about the lost Nas-Frank Ocean collab song, "No Such Thing As a White Jesus", which was supposed to be on Life Is Good, but it was finally found today. Hope we get to hear it at some point.

Haven't checked it out, but it's a mixtape by Jahlil Beats, Dylan's boy.

I've heard all the Meek songs on there so I won't be downloading lol

Ehh, 808's was vastly different from Lollipop, I really think 808's is overlooked.. I think you're being very harsh just because the album wasn't pure Hip-Hop.. He really came out of his shell and tried to be creative, at the time I hated it as well but now looking back it has very good lasting power and great production.

I will agree Graduation was aimed to go for the radio, but how is it considering selling out if Kanye was really the first person to have that kind of "vibe" on his album?

The debut single from J. Cole's new album, Born Sinner, is going to drop tomorrow. The song is called "Miss America". The next single from T.I.'s album, Trouble Man, will also drop tomorrow. The song is called "Trap Back Jumpin". Tomorrow will hopefully be a good day musically.

808s is just not Kanye at his best it's too poppy and it doesn't have the normal effect Kanye usually has on me. I really am not a fan of 808s or graduation. but it it's understandable to decrease in value when trying to follow up the master piece that was CD

I don't think I said selling out, I was just saying that he went real mainstream.
