Player Prompt:
Ever since I could remember, I wanted to be a professional hockey player. I grew up watching the SHL all the time, cheering on the Winnipeg Jets and their plethora of stars, including Damian Littleton, Lance Uppercut, and Rembrandt Q. Einstein. I remember one day seeing a commercial for a Jets hockey camp and begging my parents to let me go. They finally relented and I went to the 2 week camp. I had already been playing minor hockey and was getting some attention, but at the camp I learned so many fundamentals that really helped my game. While there, I was able to get exposure to some high ranking scouts in the professional game and I think that camp really helped get my name out there. I was able to take away so much from that camp that when I got back home, I tore up my league. I was a step faster than everyone and a step ahead of the play while I was out there. The skills I learned at that hockey camp got me noticed by a bunch of scouts in the SMJHL and from there my dream of playing in the SHL came to be. (200 words)

Oles was getting noticed by the SHL team's as a teenager and because of former Ukrainian superstars Like Boris Poroshenko, scouts were now flocking to find the next diamond in the rough. Oles received an invitation to attend a hockey fantasy training camp. It was an exclusive program that only a select few were chosen to attend. The camp was designed to help aspiring hockey players hone their skills and learn from the best in the business. Upon arrival, Oles was greeted by a group of talented young athletes, all eager to learn and improve their game. The camp was set up like a real SHL training camp, complete with top-notch facilities and experienced coaches and a few SHL superstars. Over the course of the next few weeks, Oles worked tirelessly to improve his skills. He spent countless hours on the ice, practicing his shots and working on his skating. He also spent time in the gym, building up his strength and endurance. The coaches at the camp were tough but fair. They pushed everyone to their limits, but also provided valuable feedback and advice on how to improve their game. The final day of the camp arrived, and Oles and his fellow players were given the opportunity to showcase their skills in a scrimmage game. The game was intense, with both teams fighting hard to win. In the end, Oles and his team emerged victorious, and Oles was named the MVP of the camp. The award was voted on by the SHL players who organized the camp. With the camp over, Oles returned home, full of confidence and ready to take on the world. He continued to work hard, always striving to improve his game. And one day, he finally achieved his dream of becoming a professional hockey player, thanks to the invaluable training and experience he gained at the hockey fantasy training camp.

I’m actually going to be doing a goalie camp that happens weekly. It’ll be a five day camp with each day including one hour Office training and 1.5 hours of on ice training. The camp will not be expensive because I want goalies of all skill levels to be included. It’ll cost 200 for the week and that’s half of what a normal camp of this nature is worth. Off ice training will include cardio sessions and goalie specific training. The kids will be taught healthy eating and lifestyle habits that they can carry with them in hockey and in their every day life. On ice is going to be very repetitive as we work on basic goaltender skating movements and crease to start things off. We will move into goalie specific training after the skating and movement portion is done. On Tuesdays and Thursday’s it will be a power skating session as skating is essential for goalies. This camp will get kids ready for the upcoming season as well as sharpen and improve their skills as a goalie.

When she was banned from the Russian weightlifting federation, Valieva wanted to find a sport that could benefit from her stature. She fell in love with hockey. The violence associated with it, and how she could stay in front of the net without being able to skate and be able to make a difference. It was not easy at first. Her main strategy was to injure the goalies so her teammates could score, but it become unsustainable in the long run. She was then politely asked to leave the Russian Woman Hockey team and she learned a lot in a semi-pro league in Siberia. She learned to skate. She learned to shoot. She learned to get the puck in the corners. She never dreamt of playing in the SHL, but she learned a lot from her teammates and coaches in Kelowna. Her first two years were uneventful (on the ice, at least). This year, she managed to score more goals and get more points than her two previous seasons combined.

The initial pitch is onto something. The hockey school will be run on an initial advertising campaign showing off all of the hockey video games imaginable all able to be played in person with like minded kids who are interested in playing. New SHL players will be added into Fortnite, which will have it's own station at the school. Of course, this section of the school only accounts for a mere 15% of the activities. When the children arrive, they will discover all sorts of hockey drills being embedded into their brains. Teachers describing the game of hockey while the children are in manually extended loading times for their game. Constant scheduled server outages will force the children into hockey related activities, on and off the ice. Gaming time after the first few days will have to be earned by completing enough hockey tasks (doing drills, playing games, taking written exams, etc.). This is the ultimate fun getaway for hockey fans and children who need to be tricked into learning hockey alike.

These homies about to get tricked into having some fun. Of course no one wants to get out on the ice anymore when they can do the same thing from their virtual headset at home. We are gonna get kids out here by telling them the real life experience can improve their online experience and competitiveness. One thing these kids don't want to do is be losers in their games. Will the push to be better, who knows. BUT we can try and take some steps to make them want to be. That's by including competitions on on the ice more fit for the kids skill level. One thing we will absolutely be competing against each other is who can make the furthest goal. We going goal to goal, sure! But lets see if the kids can even get close with that. Competition and prizes will be what drives the kids off the couch and onto the ice.

CREATIVE PROMPT - Kids these days would rather play Fortnite on their fidget spinners than learn a fun and exciting sport like hockey! As a professional hockey player, you've been asked to help put together a program for a hockey school that will get kids engaged, excited, and better at hockey!
--------------------------------------------- Fun activities on a school for hockey would include (but definitly not be limited to) games like tag, but also a survival course with lots of items on the ice that kids would need to either dodge, jump over or go through. This will help them boost their agility and ability to move on the skates. It will all be done in a fun way, so that even kids that have troubles with movement on the ice can join. For the little ones we have attributes like penguins they can push around and use this to learn their first steps on the ice. They can also sit on one of the seal attributes (basically the same as a penguin, but with a seat up front), so that they can be pushed forward by the older kids, who actually work on their upper body strength like this. By fun and games we hope to find people interest in hockey and join the actual hockey school! Red Kirkby got into hockey through his father future hall of famer (first ballot hint hint) Rex Kirkby. Just like he intends his son Reg Kirkby to follow in his footsteps the same expectations applied to him from Rex. From earlier than he can remember he was out on the ice with his dad practicing skating and stick work. Repeating drills over and over again until his dad was happy. It was not easy as Rex was a perfectionist and often even the smallest error would mean that a drill was restarted. At the time he often hated the practice but now that he is as pro he has come to reflect fondly upon the valuable father and son time together. It is largely why he has been able to step into a very competitive Forge lineup and more or less start producing to a high level immediately. The only thing that annoys his dad is that he became a forward rather than a defenseman.

Player prompt:
Marcel was a hockey prodigy from a young age. "Legend says that each and every Beck is born with a hockey stick in their hand." Marcel was an expert defenseman by the age of 4. When Marcel was six years old, (with a little prodding from his father) he decided that being a great defenseman was more important than those flashy forward stat lines. During his age 8 season, Marcel could boast about the fact that not a single goal allowed while he was on the ice. At age 12, his natural defensive gifts started to lead into increased offensive awareness. Then the points started to come. At age 15, he was the leading point producer on his team as well as a defensive stud at a plus 63. He has enjoyed his career so much that he has started to give back to the community that means so much to him by holding annual hockey camps. Hockey has been his life from a young age, and he will continue to cultivate his live for it far into the future. Credit to enigmatic, Merica, tweedledunn, and jaypc8237 for sigs |
