It's too bad that I started a little late into the season, but I was really stoked to have been able to play a couple games with the boys before it was playoff time. I'm happy to say that I managed to post two goals and an assist in my first game and was even the top of the leaderboard in shot percentage for one or two days, I think. I'm a strong believer that once I'm able to get out there, I have all the skills necessary to be a good d-man, shutting down play after play, being a general nuisance for the opposition, and if I'm lucky, keep firing a couple laser beams into the back of the net every now and then, and this is clearly a team that will help me reach my full potential quickly and efficiently. I'm still so pumped that I was able to be around for the team winning the Four Star cup this year and I'm chomping at the bit to get out there next season and really show everyone what I can do, and help the Timber keep crushing the competition.
Reflecting back on the season for Wolf, I think things went extremely well. For a rookie player coming into the junior league, to be able to put up over 70 points in the 66 regular season games played is absolutely incredible. I’ve been around for a long time and I know a lot of other players have done it, but I have never had a rookie player do that well in any league. I think a lot of my players struggle in the sophomore season in the junior league to get things going. It’s usually the season after that when they start flying. I’m really hoping that this means that this season I will also be playing well. The season that is coming up I mean. I think there might be a small drop off but we will find out.
St. Louis played extremely well this year. I think they surprised me a lot and I think they might’ve even surprised other people too. Moving forward, I want to continue earning points the way that I have been and I definitely want to take advantage of the double media this off-season. I’m really excited for my future and I cannot wait to see where I go during the draft. I really hope I find a good home!

Gato definitely met at the very least my minimum expectations for this season as they were to be honest quite low! I didn't have any specific stat goals, so just being able to contribute to my team's success in any fashion was a huge accomplishment for me. Being a key part of our defense as just a rookie with 207 blocks and consistently getting better week to week is really all I could ask for in my rookie season. Winning a fight and scoring 5 goals was just the icing on top! If we're looking forward to next season I hope I can improve my shooting percentage from an abysmal 3.23% on 155 shots at the very least. Playoff are hopefully a sign of things to come in that regard as Gato was able to hit 2 goals on 23 shots for a respectable 8.70%. At the end of the day I hope I can keep up with all of my outstanding Kraken rookie teammates and we'll be looking to make another playoff run next season!
Well it is official, Dan Johnston has just completed his first year in the J and it honestly was a mixed bag when it came to the results. Dan entered the season with visions of being a great shut down d-man who would jump on a grenade for his teammates. While he would still do that his defensive metrics didn't quite add up to what he wanted. Now on the other side of the coin Dan became one hell of a power play specialist, putting up 10 goals and 10 assists with the man advantage. That is exactly half of his total points for the season. While Dan looks forward to the draft and finding out where he starts his big league career, he will continue to work on the defensive end of his game to become an all around amazing dman. In the end, Johnston is looking to be an all around solid two way dman, who just may be a steal coming out of the second round of the J draft.

Bernard Lodge's rookie season went about as well as one could hope. He was the first goalie off the board in his draft, going to Maine at 13. He was able to be the starting goalie of a team with great skaters right out of the gate. The team was cracked, breaking the franchise points record for the second season in a row, with Lodge playing a big part. He was arguably the best goalie in the league, leading all goaltenders in wins, shutouts, and goals against average, while finishing in the top five for save percentage, and goals played above average. To top it all off, the Timber dominated the post season, winning it all in 14 games. Lodge played in every game, getting chased once. He ended with a playoff record of 11-2, with two shutouts. The Timber were finally able to beat Newfoundland in a playoff series, breaking the curse in a dominant fashion, sweeping their rivals in the finals. All that's left to do know is to get ready to do it again.
I'm pretty happy with how my first SMJHL season went. Cheeks arrived at Anchorage at the perfect time and stepped in to contribute immediately. He was able to fill his role well, being a solid two-way defenseman who contributed both offensively, defensively, and physically whenever the time called for it. In 39 games, Cheeks scored 5 goals and notched 18 assists with the highest + rating of +5 on the team. He also blocked 23 shots and notched 72 hits with 33 takeaways to just 14 giveaways. While he'll look to improve upon each of those statistics as a sophomore in the SMJHL, it's a good start for a young defenseman, especially having just converted from being a forward. He'll need to be able to not just be a positive impact on the ice, but make his impact significant. Settling for just ok isn't good enough in such a cutthroat development league. With SHL teams calling as well, growing each season will be extremely important if he wants a chance to play at the highest level.
I'd say I had a decent rookie season. I came in just hoping to do the absolute best that I can - I think putting expectations on yourself is more harmful than motivating. It wasn't anything amazing, but I put in some pretty decent performances in some games. Scoring 40 points in 66 games for a third line winger is pretty good I'd say - and I'm definitely excited for next season where i'll be higher up and getting some more ice time, hopefully giving me more chances to show what I've got. I'm a bit unhappy with having only scored 9 goals, but that's not something I'm too hung up on, given I scored plenty of assists too. I really found my groove in the playoffs, which I'm happy about - 3 goals and 5 assists in 11 games isn't bad at all for a rookie I think. Definitely don't want to end up with a reputation of being someone who chokes in the playoffs, so I'd say I'm pretty happy with this. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to win the cup - wasn't even that close to it, really - but there's always next season for that.

At the end of my first season I would say that Westley performed well above my expectations. 9th among his draft class and 1st among rookie defensemen in points, tied for 12th in his class and 1st among rookie defensemen in goals, and producing the 2nd most takeaways in the entire league. Showing just how well rounded Westley really is by topping his class in offensive stats and leading the league in a defensive one. At this point the main improvement I want to make is just getting a little better, with how this season went I want Westley to achieve a point per game next season as well as continuing to be in the running for most takeaways. In terms of moments that will be enshrined in memory, Westley will forever remember his first playoff run, both the highs of sweeping his first round opponent and the lows of being unable to offensively produce for his team in the final 4 games of his season.
Thank you hewasajazzman, Slothfacekilla, Sulo, Frenchie, and Raymond for the sigs
While QCC's season was very underwhelming as a whole, I would say the rookie season was individually still a success. Jagrbomb, expectedly, had some big problems on the defensive side, and had a -22 in plus/minus. But considering how the team performed, that number could have been even worse, as only one skater managed to get into the positive. Jagrbomb also got thrown in head first against really tough competition, which also resulted in no less than 228 blocked shots. 16 giveaways and 60 takeaways also sounds pretty good, although that basically just means that QCC did not have the puck a lot. On the offensive side, the numbers were actually really good, although boosted by a hefty amount of power play time. Jaggrbomb scored 13 goals, which was 12th most of all D. Paired with 34 assists (also 12th most among D), that makes it 47 points, which means a top-10 position in D scoring.
I really enjoyed my first season. I would have liked to win it at the end, but finding my player was a menace was great to see.I really could not complain much. I really think my tpe gain really helped me start out pretty fast. I am already at 290 and now on my way to being max next season at 350 and then will be at 425 for season 3 I am sure. I think next season I want to really get just faster. I really want to get my physicals up the most and some baseline defense up a tiny bit. I wanna be one of the fastest people out there while I am there. To do that I will need my physicals up a bit more to really be above the rest. Those should also hit my hit totals at the same time. If I can keep this hitting gene I could really break a record with how much my player loves to do it.
It was a pretty terrible season for me in all honesty. Forty seven points in sixty-six games wasn't my goal for this year. I really want to be a point per game player. Thirty-five assist isn't bad but twelve goals is kind of low for a guy with a shot like mine. I hope to get better in my second season but sophomore slumps are a thing for a reason. If there's one thing I need to improve on next season it's my giveaway. I giveaway the puck way too much and I have no clue why. Maybe I'm just not strong enough on the puck. I've been working on my balance a lot to try to stay on the puck more but I'm not sure if it will work out the way I want it. I am glad to be in Vancouver though. Great locker room that's super chill and all-around enjoyable. Thanks for reading this if you did.
For Sven Holmberg, the season was one of ups and downs. The high points of the season were his defensive play. He finished the season with 190 blocked shots, an impressive amount for a rookie defenseman. He definitely was one to frequent the team doctor's room with the amount of pucks he was taking. In addition, puck battles in his defensive zone was always a war. If you went into the corner with Sven, you knew you were in for a battle, even winning the puck battle wasn't huge as you'd be worn out physically. For the downs, Sven's offensive play was a damper for his first season. HE wasn't awful, but compared to other rookies he felt like he could improve. He felt like his passes were crisp and clean, but he wasn't picking up many assists. In all, Sven is excited that the season is over and is looking forward to getting drafted to the SHL.

For Jeff, his rookie year came with personal success but failure from a team standpoint. Up until this point, Jeff has been a winner everywhere he's been, leading the team on the offensive end to exceptional heights, including the Swiss junior national title in his final season with his old club. Now, more things than ever are out of his control, and Jeff has also had to get acclimated to a new country and playing against older players. His defensive shortcomings are being repeatedly exposed, and his offense relies on his ability to use his teammates and trust them to make the right plays, as before, as the star of his team, he did everything himself. The change was relatively seamless on the offensive end, but the physical and defensive training must increase to be a reliable player in this league. Jeff as well as other rooks are being trusted with the keys to drive this team's future, and this is surely only the beginning. (167 words)
