First we must define what type of defenseman we are referring to. No matter what role a defender defines himself as, their primary goal must and should be to assist in keeping the puck out of their own net. There are loads of ways to do this and I truly believe within the correct system, each of the beforementioned defenseman has a role in the correct system. As a goalie, we love defensive defenders who love to stay at home in their own end and disrupt the opponents play as much as possible by getting into passing lanes, not allowing the opponent to have a clear shot on net and look to move the puck up to the forwards to clear the zone. I also believe a healthy balance of all types work well in harmony on a team to create a diverse system limiting as many opponent chances as possible.

LARGEST PUNISHMENT IN SHL HISTORY
It's never the defenseman's job to cover for the forwards', it really should be the other way around. Plenty of players make the common mistake of relying on their defenseman to correct mistakes and putting the full defensive workload on them. You see this far too often in the SHL, and due to the fact that a vast majority of players in the league tend to be offensively minded, it's troubling when forwards simply don't attempt to help out with the backcheck, or do the hard things in the corners. Every player, regardless of their real skill set, should be competently willing to sacrifice some of their offensive game on occasion if it means that the player can perform his or her job in the defensive end. Your defensemen will have more space to operate, get the puck out of the zone, and then they can worry about scoring.

My player has always loved when defenders have an amazing vision. Aumy Junior II loves to go for fastbreaks and one verses one situations. So, if they can somehow find him from their own goal and give an amazing pass, Aumy Junior II will convert it to an assist. It's very cool if they are able to make some good screens as well. Aumy Junior II can make good shots and with decent screens there are twice as big chance to actually make them. Since Aumy Junior II is an offensive forward, he loves that one defender on his line focuses fully on defense, while other helps with different things on offense. For example, hitting and covering while he is with the puck. It's very important that defenders always are standing up for their goalie as well. These small things all combined are very important. And I think we have problems in Carolina with each of these aspects, only not the last one.

Viktor Krunk
Option 2
As a typical two-way center, Viktor Krunk does plenty in the course of the game to help his goalie. He clogs the middle of the ice, takes away passing lanes and does his best to intercept passes. He occupies the most dangerous area on the ice with presence and aggression. If a defenseman needs help digging out a puck in the corner, he will be right there, and someone is getting hit. Krunk does his best to disrupt the flow of attacking play, but that isn't all.
The other big way he helps is by acting as a second goalie in terms of communication - and by that I mean he is constantly screaming at his defensemen about their positioning and where they should be. If he sees an error in defensive positioning, he goes in full force on a teammate for not living up to his high standards. He has made defenseman Puddles O'Duck cry more than once by doing this.

Written Task: Tell me what your player wants the defensemen on their team to do to help them out. If your player is a defenseman, tell me what you do to help your goalie out?
There are a few thing Jae-ik wants the defensemen to do.
The first is to chip in offensively. A lot of the time plays start in your own zone, and that means beginning with swift and precise puck movement from the defense. If the D can't complete a pass in their own zone then you're going to have a tough time generating offense.
The D also need to be responsible defensively. That means only pinching when you know that a forward can cover for you on the backend. Poorly timed pinches with no chance for a forward covering almost always means an odd-man rush going the other way, and that's just putting too much pressure on the goalie.
Finally, the D need to be aware of what's happening in front of the net at all times. Sometimes that means clearing the crease, other times that means ensuring you maintain good body position and stick position on your assignment in the slot. Most goals are scored from in front of the net, so it's up to the D to ensure that they're playing with that in mind.

Spack Jarrow tries not to worry about what others are doing so much as what he is or isn't doing. That being said, if push came to shove and he had to admit that he wanted something from the defenders on his team it would be this. Can they please help him move on November 1st? Jarrow bought an apartment to have a place closer to the arena but it doesn't have a stick of furniture in the place.
The delivery company should handle a lot of the stuff but there are some personal pieces that Jarrow would like transferred from his current living location (the ship) but unfortunately he doesn't own a truck. That is where the D come in because Jarrow knows at least 2 of them have a truck after bragging about going off-roading during the last offseason.
For anyone that shows up, there will be free pizza and beer.

Jonas Salat
Option 1
Even though he's lived in Kelowna for a year now, Jonas would have almost no idea of what to do with the kids when they arrive. He and the team would obviously show them a gracious welcome at their home game, bringing the kids out on to the ice pre-game to introduce them and make them honorary Knights. Jonas would, in a panic, get ideas from his teammates about what to do with the kids the following day. He would eventually settle on taking the kids on a group guided bike tour at Myra Canyon Park, which would feature a picnic lunch at the end followed by each kid getting to have a go at the Okanagan Flyboard Experience, basically a water-based jet-powered hoverboard. After that, it's a private group dinner with the kids and the rest of the team at the Train Station Pub (Jonas' favorite restaurant in Kelowna since it's the only place that serves his favorite German beer).
Option 1
These kids are getting the absolute best seats in the house. They are going to get the best treatment with all the bells and whistles in the club seats. The box is going to be stocked of every last thing that those kids could want. They are going to be watching the Philadelphia Forge play their rivals in the Eastern Conference, the New England Wolfpack. While the kids are town, they will have the opportunity to visit all the historical monuments around the fine city of Philadelphia. The kids will also be forced to try out every single Philly cheesesteak restaurant in the city. Any whiners will be sent back home. They will also be able to have an afternoon of training and practice in the Philadelphia Forge’s facility to work off those extra cheese filled calories. The kids are going to have the time of their lives and hopefully will spread the good word on the Philadelphia Forge back home.

shnopple lopple
Shnopple can help his goalie by playing his defensive side well and not messing up as often as he sometimes does. Shnopple is still learning his consistency when it comes to the defensive side of things. Once he fully learns that he will be even more of a help to the goalie than he already is. Shnopple helps his goalie a lot by getting it out of the zone and creating offense since that is what he is best at. Shnoople scores goals too which helps the goalie by getting rid of some pressure and creating momentum. Shnopple is also good at taking the puck from others and not giving it away too much. that really helps the goalie as the opponents can't shoot the puck on the goalie if they don't have the puck. Shnopple will continue to do his best with offensive production while still being able to defend.
