Good Time Appropriate Greeting SMJHL,
It has come to our attention that ANC had unit tactics enabled throughout the season. Per the rulebook, as this is their first violation, we will be assessing a fine of $1M to the ANC GMs. Additionally, ANC had a lines violation in G5 of the playoffs and STL had lines violations throughout the season. While the rulebook has been clear about lines and roles needing to be legal, we've worked to codify the penalties for this violation. Therefore, adding to the rulebook will be language which stats that illegal lines violations will incur the following penalties to 2.B.viii: 1. 1-32 regular-season games: $2M fine. 2. 32-66 regular-season games: $4M fine. 3. Any playoff games: Full GM pay fine and loss of CW pass for the season. 4. Repeated offenses in consecutive seasons will result in the GM forfeiting pay for the most recent season and potential probation These penalties align with our current budget violations. Head Office felt this approach ensures a structured response, promoting responsible team management and reducing the need for constant file checks. Therefore, Head Office has voted to: Fine ANC GMs their S74 GM pay and CW Pass Fine STL GMs $4M of their GM pay. Additionally, Head Office has voted to place ANC on lines and unit tactics probation for the coming season. As always, the teams are free to appeal these decisions. If you have any questions, please reach out to any one of us.

Does HO intend to hold themselves accountable for allowing line and/or tactics violations to go on for a full season and take action to make sure it doesn't happen again in the future? I feel like this is a fair punishment after the fact, but the season results still stand as is, violations and all. It wouldn't have happened if the rules had been more actively enforced. I know HO already has a lot to do, I've been there... maybe hiring an extra intern and adding "weekly line and tactics spot checks" to their tasks could do the trick?
