The Newfoundland Berserkers have had a fairly shaky start to the season overall, especially coming off being second place last year in the regular season. Many key players graduated on to the SHL and other major pieces were moved for future draft picks. Despite the retooling in the off-season, Newfoundland still has ability to finish the season strong and potentially make a run in the playoffs. Three veteran players will be the key for a strong ending to the season for the Newfoundland Berserkers. First, fourth year Lativan goalie, Launchpad McQuack has taken a slight step back this year so far with their save percentage, goals against average, and game rating all down from the past 2 years. For the Berserkers to have any chance in the playoffs, McQuack must bring those numbers back up to his previous standard. Next, star forward Jason Warwaha has had a breakout season improving his production significantly especially on the powerplay where he has 20 points after only getting 1 point there in his first two years. As he leads the team in scoring, It is crucial that his production stays consistent in the back half of the season. Lastly, Eric Vanderberg Jr, the defensive defenseman out of Buffalo has logged heavy minutes and has been relied upon in all situations. The accomplished captain of the Berserkers must use his leadership to help the team improve throughout the season. All in all, the Berserkers will get as far in the playoffs as these three players can take them.

Colorado Raptors went into this new season with an almost entirely new rebuild. After building up to a championship roster, call-ups dismantled the team, and the rebuild had to being once again. However it has been a solid start to the rebuild as the Raptors currently stand 22-18-3 which is good for eight place in the standings. Three players that are responsible for this success begins with Campbell Fischermann. Campbell was the Raptors first round selection and was placed in the spotlight right away as some that could help get Colorado back to its championship ways. Thus far he has not disappointed as a scorer on the wings with 10 goals and 23 assists. The next players to highlight would be a tie between Andrade La Sombra and Pinli Switchbang as they lead the team in scoring as two of the highly talented veterans on the roster. Without them finding the net the Raptors would struggle to put up points. Lastly the final player to point out is Zeus Storm. Storm joined the league one day before the draft and the Raptors took a chance selecting him late in the second round. That has paid dividends thus far as he has put up 13 goals, 22 assists, and a plus-15 rating. Storm helping make the third line a threat has been a huge, unexpected, boost to the Raptors season. The future is bright and so is the current!

The St. Louis Scarecrows are in a strange position this season - while in no position to be cup contenders, we’re also slowly building up strength and rebuilding the team into a competitive viable unit. There’s a few people in particular who will be absolute essential for this plan to work, though, aside from the rookies, and their successes - first up, we have Louis Belanger, assistant captain, and Alexa Johansen, captain, who’ve been with the team for a while, and have contributed massively to the offensive capabilities of our three lines. Another key part of the machine is mister Jack Booth, arguably the greatest dman the team has come into, with his mind-meltingly high shot block stat practically making him a second goalie! Moreover, the team also relies on those of us just filling out our lines - at least for now. Ozzy and Mathias are both shaping up to be successful dmen, and James Madison’s working of centre ice has been a real boon, keeping the offensive plays tight, while giving the d line significant time to rest.
