I think the SHL playoffs should be different than NHL playoffs. I also think the SHL should remove divisions (instead of having 4 like the shl) and just stick to conferences. Im pretty bored of playing Philly, Baltimore, or Atlanta every season

Seems like one of the better changes the league could introduce is more variability in playoff matchups/seeding -- it seems to be a common sentiment and I'm sure GMs and players alike would enjoy more variety in who they're facing.

I personally think that some Sim Leagues should be more about being themselves, instead of trying to mimic some of the real life sports that they are part of. When you're trying to have group fun, sometimes real life things can make it less fun for the group.

The NHL having a farm team system with agreements with the AHL and ECHL would be cool to mimic in the SHL. However, the logistics of it would be tough. Plus, would you want to go to the "AHL" with players from your SHL team, and not with new users from different teams? Could be an idea to consider for something between the J and SHL.

The SHL just like the NHL should go back to 1 vs 8 2 vs 7 etc when it comes to playoffs matchup. Divisional rivalry might be a thing but the same matchup pretty much every seasons gets boring

In the NHL, there are injuries every year and that can be a real drag for some people. In the SHL there are no injuries, and I think that was a very good idea. Why can't the NHL just turn off injuries like the SHL?

I think that both the SHL and the NHL should do away with the stupid divisional playoff format and go back to just doing one vs eight

I think this is somewhat of a 2-way street here, but my enjoyment of hockey these days has primarily come from the math behind it. Hockey really is such a wonderful continuous puzzle that is ripe for gross misinterpretation, making it the most fun to analyze. I love seeing the SHL embrace entry level analytics, and the NHL slowly adopt (and then completely reorganize), and expand their analytics.

Yes, the NHL promos their all-star game and tells its where and when the game can be found. Does the SHL do that? It is the simple things?

I think there should be some sort of media day during the season that counts for PT. Every team should have 1 player that has to answer questions that would count as a PT or mPT that gives an inside scoop on the team and the environment

Currently the playoff format in the SHL is very similar to the NHL. While not terrible, I personally prefer the 1-8 matchup format over the divisional style. We have 20 teams, so top 16 is a bit generous, but I think it would be best to keep it that way so more people are involved in the playoffs, at least for the first round.

I think having agents would always be super cool - it would help new players and add an aspect to the league. Agents can get % of the contract paid to them think it would be cool

its important to recognize all demographics our community and i think us at the shl have taken what the nhl does to another level in the best way possible. we are a diverse community and i think it's of the utmost importance that we celebrate each other

I like that the SHL copies the NHL when it comes to win conditions and that the team that scores the most goals wins. I think the SHL does a great job at trying to keep the league similar to the NHL but with modifications that make it work better for what it is.

I would like to see special teams more balanced. There's slight imperfections with the sim which result in player roles / deployment seeming more important than the players build / skill levels.
