Registered Posting Freak Quote:Written Option 1: For Halloween promotion your teams PR department wants a short horror movie to reach new audiences and as that is about as much work as they feel like doing for it they have your player figuring out the small details like casting and plot. So what kind of movie it will be? Is it going to have a monster and if it does what will it be and who is going to play that role? Or maybe bit more psychological horror? Reliving a game seven loss from the past or is it going to involve hockey at all? What kind of movie your player would create and what role they would play in it? In order to tie it to the Atlanta Inferno (you know, the team that is making the movie), Jae-ik has decided that it will be a movie about a giant bird that was recently thawed from the ice in the north pole. It breathes fire like a phoenix, and a family of four (starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the nebbish father, Carrie Coon as the strong mother, and idk two kids from Stranger Things or whatever as the son and daughter) must make their way through the burned out ruins of a city, all the while worrying about certain death swooping down from the sky. It'll be like Godzilla or Cloverfield, in that not only is it a monster movie, but you don’t see too much of the giant bird, because not seeing it leads to more tension. Jae-ik will have a cameo as a scientist that warns against thawing the creature in the north pole. He will help the family escape but then get melted by the horror bird near the end of the movie. It will be a box office bomb and Jae-ik will stick with playing hockey.

I've never really been one for slashers or monster horror. When I was in the second grade, I went to a sleepover and watched an R rated slasher called "The Grim" about a mummy that murders a bunch of spellunkers who are trying to rescue their friend. It really made an impact and not in a good way. That said, without a doubt, any horror movie I'm involved in will be a psychological thriller. I finally got around to seeing Longlegs and while I found the second half paled in comparison to the first, there's so much tension, even in scenes where very little actually happens. I'm not going to pretend our little Anchorage Armada flick could pretend to such heights of direction, but they always say to dream big. The desolate cold and dark of an Alaska winter should make for a truly chilling setting. Imagine hockey players stranded in a small village, where one of them goes missing.

Goalies are weird, that's undebatable. Goalies voluntarily stand in the way of pucks! BUT they are still teammates, so I try to keep them in top form any way I can!
It all starts with a good warm up. I've found that the best way to warm up goalies is wait until they aren't ready and then fire shots at their head. Their faces turn bright red real quick to let you know they are properly warmed up! Once the game starts it can get quite lonely back there in net, so I make sure that once the play does come near them I shove as many opposing players into their crease as possible! The more the marrier! Lastly, I noticed that the puck marks on their pads would eventually wear off. Those puck marks are like badges of honor! So one night after everyone else left I traced every puck mark with a sharpie so they'd have lasting memories of their saves! None of my goalies have been able to find the words to properly thank me for my efforts yet but just knowing that I am helping them is all the thanks I need!

The horror movie is going to be one of those thrillers that is just ever so subtly unsettling and you can’t quite put your finger on why but you’re acutely aware of your fight or flight response kicking in and your heart racing in your chest. It’s going to follow some of the players as they go about their lives on the off day - blissfully unaware that something dreadful awaits them back at the arena. The viewer knows all about this dark secret, which makes it disturbing as they watch the players make plans all the while knowing that it’s all pointless. The documentary style film then follows the players as they walk into the practice facility and are met with the most grizzly sight that you could imagine: a note from the coach that todays practice was going to be a bag skate as their effort lately has been absolutely dreadful, and also he heard they were enjoying themselves way too much on the off day. The audience gasps in horror as the players get this shocking news, and then it fades to black.

Anchor: Hockey Player and Movie Director? Our sports reporter has the story.
Reporter: To get in the Halloween spirit, the SHL is having players from each team make a Halloween short film to get fans excited for all the games on Halloween night, we asked player Jeffrey Bjelland about the film he chose to make. Bjelland: Yes, the movie will be about a hockey mask killer who goes around killing teens in the woods. Reporter: That sounds oddly familiar to the "Friday the 13th" movies and the killer Jason Voorhees, is that on purpose Bjelland: Oh... shoot! We already filmed it. Man, I'm going to get in some copyright trouble. I just thought the hockey mask was a cool idea. Reporter: Bjelland ended up calling it a parody film, but we think he actually just forgot that a hockey mask killer already existed. Anchor: The Movie will premiere live on Halloween Night, and will first be shown on the Jumbotron during the hockey game, and will be available to stream after on YouTube. Code: 173 Words

Have you ever seen Hubie’s Halloween? It’s a Halloween movie with a little bit of scare and fright but also a good amount of comedy. The movie stars Adam Sandler, who if I were to make a movie I would love to have play my character. I think the best Halloween movies aren’t the ones filled with jump scares, but the ones that are more of a thriller and have a bit of scariness built into the storyline. If you have Adam Sandler in your movie, you know it also has to be a comedy in some sense. The movie would feature a main character who isn’t the smartest person and is either loved by everyone or made fun of by everyone. People don’t take this person seriously, so when the evil or villains come to town, they think he’s lying. In the end, like most movies, he would be the hero, and the joke would no longer be on him because he was the one who was truly right all along. A movie like this would probably feature two or three films in the series—something that can be built upon as he moves from town to town or city to city, fighting the next Halloween horror. 200+

The Manhattan Rage needed to boost their fan engagement. No better way to do so, then, than to make some sort of outlandish Halloween video. The fans needed it. All that had been scaring them lately was the Rage's spot at the bottom of the league standings and the subsequent anxiety of the ensuing playoff push. Shit goes crazy, yo. Who do you call when you need to do some dumb shit? Mary Hollywood, that's who. Mary got straight to work. She enlisted the help of her teammates Celeste Desjardins, Betzee Nickelback, and Elly Snow-Leopard to create a cinematic masterpiece that was most terrifying indeed. Elly was instructed to wear weird horns that sort of resembled the logo of the Manhattan Rage. This was to symbolize that Elly was playing the part of "Da Rage Monster Thingy," while the other three (Mary, Celeste, and Betzee) were given the most auspicious role of Townspersons 1, 2, and 3. Basically, Elly just chased them around and tried to kill them.

Well. I guess this is what happens when you’re on the shitlist, haha. I’ve been slacking a bit too much lately. Slackers get the dumb shit to deal with. So here I am helping out the marketing department in my spare time. However, this task is different because I get to have some sort of creative control - a horror short for the holiday. Casting - whatever. This kind of thing is the *fun* kind of extracurricular! If I can’t get enough teammates I could bribe them with alcohol or something. Marketing says I have to keep it hockey related but otherwise can go nuts. Fun fact: I fucking love The Thing (the 80s one). Who’s gonna say no to a cheesy little “alien kills everybody on the Monarchs” type thing? Marketing says I can’t portray the team in a negative light. Alright so maybe *we’re* the evil monsters and we’re gonna attack the other teams with food dyed water and hockey sticks? Hell yes. That’ll do the trick.

As a forward you need to support your goalie anytime you are on the ice by giving them stick tabs on the pads and telling them good save. If they get scored on you go up to the goalie and give them or is it encouragement to be able to forget about it and move on and continue to play the game. Goalies need a lot of support because they can feel like it is always on them sometimes based on how the game is going and anything that the forward can do to help them out is appreciated by both the goalie and the team. During warm-ups Matiss is always trying to get the goalie ready for a game situation, so when he is shooting the puck during warm-ups, he is aiming for the pads glove or blocker to get the goalie used to pucks hitting them. As far as intermissions go, usually everybody stays away from the goal is to let them get into their right headspace.

Well, you see, Solaire has the greatest plot ever for a movie, since it is exactly what happened to him, and this would be perfect. You're minding your own business, and out of the blue, you are snapped out of where you are and into a completely strange and complex land with nothing of note that you would understand, nor anyone you would know or recognize, but there are people everywhere that recognize you and know about you! You are lost, scared, alone, and confused on how to get back to where you came from, when you are told that you are from a video game, and that there is no way for you to get back to where you were from, and you are stuck and basically fucked out of anything you had going on there, and have to adapt and figure out your life now in a new area with nothing that feels like home, and you are alone. The loneliness alone, would be scary enough for most people.

For the Halloween promo, I’m pitching a horror-comedy called “Skate or Fright.” Picture this: I’m alone at the rink late one night when I start hearing whispers about the “Zamboni Phantom.” Legend says this ancient, haunted Zamboni appears every Halloween at midnight, challenging unlucky players to a shootout to settle some old hockey grudge. If I miss? He’ll drag me down to the underworld, no questions asked.
So, naturally, I accept. Our team’s equipment manager is playing the Phantom, and he’s got the perfect deadpan delivery for it. He glides out of the fog on the Zamboni, muttering and rolling his eyes as if the whole thing is beneath him. Every shot I take goes wrong—my stick shatters, the puck turns into a rubber chicken, my skate laces mysteriously untie. Meanwhile, he’s watching me struggle, just sighing in frustration. I somehow win by accidentally knocking an old Gatorade bottle into the net. The Phantom, defeated, yells, “I’ll be back next year!” before vanishing in a puff of smoke. It’s goofy, a little spooky, and fans would love it! SHL Career Stats / Achievements S67 PHI | 66GP | 23G | 32A | 55P | +11 | 163sog | 14.11sh% | 1 ppp | 63 hit | 44 blk | 12 pim

Billy Herrington, as a key winger for the Atlanta Inferno, knows how crucial it is to keep his team’s goalie locked in for the full 60 minutes. In warmups, Billy makes sure to give the goalie realistic, game-like shots to simulate what they’ll face when the puck drops. Instead of firing shots randomly, he focuses on challenging the goalie in various ways—low and tight, up high, or even practicing quick redirects. It’s all about making them feel sharp and ready before the actual action begins.During games, Billy’s all about offering steady support, especially if the goalie lets one slip past. Instead of overanalyzing or putting added pressure on them, he usually just gives a quick tap on the pads and some encouraging words. His message is simple: “Shake it off; we’re still in this.” He knows goalies are usually their harshest critics, so he avoids adding to the noise and focuses on keeping the energy light. Billy’s a huge believer in the power of positive energy, so he keeps his own focus and lets it rub off on his teammates, helping everyone keep level-headed. Intermissions are another chance for Billy to step up. He keeps the atmosphere in the locker room as calm and focused as possible, steering clear of any frustrations and emphasizing what the team needs to do next. He’s the first to bring everyone together around the goalie, shifting the team’s focus to the game ahead rather than dwelling on past goals. For Billy, supporting his goalie isn’t just about pumping them up; it’s about setting the tone and showing the mental resilience needed to move forward.

James wanted to put in just as much work as the executives who came up with the idea for the movie did, so he makes a slasher flick. Except, instead of slashing with a machete or anything like that, it's the slashing penalty in hockey. So the antagonist, played by James himself, is a thug on the ice who feels wronged by his opponents on the ice and takes his revenge using hockey equipment. The rest of the cast consists of James's teammates on the Calgary Dragons, since they're right there. The away team locker room in Calgary's arena serves as the perfect cheap set, and all of the effects are equally cheesy. James mostly uses it as an excuse to have end of filming day parties, drinking beers and eating snacks with his teammates. That'll show those higher ups to keep thrusting these esoteric tasks on James without any further effort from themselves.
"I'm the best there is at what I do... and what I do isn't very nice."
