I would make 2 lines of teammates when it comes to the defensive pairings. I think it is better to have the chemistry and built in team work m, especially in defenders so that they can play off of each other well and not let too many breakaways or overly one sided chances breakout. With how good the opposing team is (literally all stars), those odd player situations can very easily become goals. I also think that Toasty and Shaw compliment each other’s games well as do Maximova and Soderberg-Snooks and while you could mix and match for variety’s sake, again that chemistry is something that could be a real difference maker.

I am going to stay consistent here and stick with advocating for the young guns in Gregor and Denebor. While I think they should be subbed around the mid game point to make sure everyone can play, I believe that getting the young stars in is a great way to grow the game.

I can’t speak for everyone from the west, but I know Langston would be enjoying the mall of America and would be picking up some new grill supplies as well as speaking far too much time at the theme park and then relaxing at a baseball game. Of course, he’s been to Minnesota before but that was always with a team for either squirt hockey or in the SHL, so he is enjoying his freedom. He would also go to bug some of his former teammates like Meta Knight from Team Switzerland and force him to reveal his favorite spots to eat in the area.

9. 151 Words, +3 TPE
I expect the west to win the All Star game and not just because of bias with Langston being named to the team. I think the West benefits from having a lot of youth on the team for some established chemistry with no less than three members of the Prestigious Lobster draft class with Fenix, Solberg and Hardison-Laurent. And then with chemistry, all but one of the goalies and defenders for the west so far come from either Los Angeles or San Francisco. Yes the west is theoretically top heavy, but the bottom is full of young stars eager to show what they can do after disappointing team finishes in the regular season like Alexa Johansen, Kevin Kim and Cal Juice. This lets them have solid upper lines made up of veteran players that can be called on for consistency while the East might struggle with their team that lacks specialization.

Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, why were they an obvious choice to make the All Star roster, and what do you expect from them this ASG? (If more than one of your teammates made the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, write about your team's candidate for last man instead.)

This year just two players from the Atlanta Inferno made the East All Stars roster; Billy Herrington and Jiggle E Puff. Herrington wrapped up Season 79 with 94 points, a 34 +/-, 105 hits, 62 takeaways and other nifty stats. Jiggle E Puff finished in the top 10 of the league for points, putting up 34 goals and 64 assists, all while making his presence well known through a whopping 142 hits. I expect I probably won't pay attention to the All Star Game Outcome again so I can't say for sure how it will all play out, but I'm sure all those involved will have fun and that Herrington and Puff will represent the fire birbs well out on the ice for the East.

All-Star games are usually hosted by SHL or SMJHL team but what if it wasn’t so? If you would like to grow the game on new market having an exhibition game with all the best players in the leagues could be good kickstart, or maybe it could revitalize an old market that might have had their team moved in the past? If you were to hold games outside of current teams, where you would take the games and why?

Whenever I get these questions my first impulse is to bring more games to Canada, mostly for selfish reasons because I usually want to go because events like this are fun to go to in person. But we should probably share our hockey joy with the rest of the world and make this thing a truly international affair. Even one game abroad can spark some interest and bring a new perspective to the game that maybe we hadn't thought would be cool before. I'm generally more prone to picking places that naturally have ice and snow because it feels weird having hockey in hot places (looking at you Florida) and I just have to imagine it just makes more sense even from an economic/profitable perspective, but maybe we try somewhere new just for funsies. The world is a big place and the possibilities are truly endless. We could engage the typical hockey Euro nations, maybe throw a game or two Japan or Taiwan's way, I don't know. Somewhere far away where we can blow some minds with top talent.

Four out of top 5 teams in the league were from teams in the West but East took all spots from 6 to 11. This is also pretty clear when you look at selection of players that made the All-star game, West being more focused on those few teams on top while East has more balanced approach with 5 teams sending two or more players. Which of the teams you expect to win the game and why?
Honestly, give me the West, and not by a little. Usually, I've found that extreme parity is actually a bad thing, as it's a sign that everyone is mediocre and nobody stands out. Which honestly was kinda the truth about the East in the SHL this season. Did anyone really think that whoever came out of the East stood a chance against SFP, or LAP, or even Texas? The peaks are what sways these kind of comparisons pretty consistently, and we saw in the final that the "best" that the East had to offer got absolutely flattened by a much better Western juggernaut. If it were up to me, and you could host it outside of SHL/SMJHL cities, I would be taking the All-Star Game abroad! The only real chance that fans outside of North America have to watch SHL stars is IIHF/WJC, and that's if their country is hosting on that occasion. There are 13 IIHF federations from outside North America, and so many unassigned players from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America, or a more abstract locale. Why not give those players the opportunity to have some fun close to home away from the pressure of the national team? You could probably package it with the IIHF hosting duties, or have it in a neighboring country - for example, if say Czechia is hosting in a particular season, maybe have the All-Stars across the border in Bratislava? Or even some of the countries with old feds looking for a chance to prove they deserve a return, like Austria. (160 words, +3)

6. When Prince Marius got traded to Seattle, he was aware that he had to come around to the way things were there. What better way to take on Seattle than coffee brewing and tasting? Seattle is tied in with coffee culture. He decided to dive right in, starting with a pour-over because that seemed like boujee cool thing people on tiktok do, but early attempts he realized he had no patience and old coffee grounds would be left on the counter waiting to decay. The coffee also was either too weak or painfully bitter.

Marius started visiting local cafes, observing hot baristas, and asking questions about their technique whilst fliring his way to get their numbers. This had now become his schedule: practicing at home, trying grind sizes, water temperatures, and brewing methods, and making out with the hot barista until he finally understood how each variable would change the flavour. His apartment smelled of freshly brewed coffee and mouth breath every time.

Over time, Marius developed an appreciation for brewing coffee more than hot baristas as like hockey, it required focus, precision, and experimentation. The payoff often was satisfying like scoring goals. Soon he was sharing his creations with teammates giving him the nickname Grinder.

7. My starting lineup for one of the conferences would be:
G- Mark Andrew Flower Falcons
D- Roquefort Cotsworld Falcons
D- Sawyer Keenen Falcons
F- Jeffrey Bjellend Falcons
F- Simon Science  Falcons
F- Theo Kane Falcons
Notice how they are all from Detroit. Yes, coincidence? maybe or maybe because Detroit is for champions on and off the ice and should be recognized at all times as such. Maybe stop judging me and realize that this it the necessary all star lineup that all of you should be adopting. YOu can't teach chemistry and this is reflects that.

9. The West may be a flash in the pan type of All Star team, while the East is very much a meat and potatoes Type of squad. Its hard to look past the flash and glamour of the West's super stars when picking a winner between the two teams. But I would have to give my choice to the much more balanced and overall deeper team the East ice's. I would much rather have a team of 75 overall players then a squad of players who have a few 90 overall and a bunch of 50's. I always route for balance over flash and this years All Star game is no difference. The West may have a slight advantage with its few top end players but I truly feel the overall depth and good, not great talent of the East will be the victor. As a reult my bet is fully on the East to win it all, even if I think it might be a close game.

11. I think what would be best for the game as a whole would be to see the All Star games being held in arenas that dont see the playoffs much or at arenas of future expansion hopefuls so that the league can see if they can even fill a barn. It would be good for the game to hold the games at arenas that tend to be perennial playoff missing teams. If these cities struggle to make the playoffs year after year and struggle to fill the arena for the All Star games, then I think a serious conversation should be help about their right to own a SHL team.

7. For a starting lineup in the Southern Conference, I would do a first line of Valtteri Pulkkinen, Doug Weight, and May O’Nayse. The Maine Timber first line has been on a tear the past couple of seasons, with Weight and O’Nayse both finishing top 5 in points last season. Pulkkinen came into his own this season, and this would do well against the first line that is likely made up of QCC forwards. On defense, I would go with Matthias and Ozzy Bradford. The St. Louis Defenseman both played incredibly well, and are responsible on defense as well as able to contribute on offense. In goal, I would pick Kittenson to start. I think Kittenson and Flower were the best goalies in the J, but Kittenson just played better in my opinion. (132 words, +2 TPE)

8. Froya made the All star game for the Calgary Dragons and I couldn’t think of a better choice. Not only a leader on the ice but off the ice as well, Froya is the lifeblood of this team. She led the team in points as well and is one of the younger players to make the all star game. I expect her to play very well in the game itself. I’m not sure what line she is going to be on, but I think she will make an impact no matter where she ends up. She’s been dominant her whole career and I don’t think this is the last time the all star game will see her. (117 words, +2 TPE)

11. I think if the all-star game is going to start playing in neutral locations, one of those should be in Ohio. Either of the three big cities would work, but it’s time for the SHL to start having a footprint in Ohio. Ohio is the largest state to not have any kind of representation at either the SHL or the J level and has not since I have joined the league. I think the all-star game being in a place like Columbus would be a great way to start drumming up interest for either a new franchise or a relocation to the Buckeye state. Ohioans are very welcoming, and there’s plenty for the all stars to do throughout the state. As a major sports market as well, the fans would love to see the best the league has to offer playing each other. With the SHL continuing to move and expand, mainly into Canada, Ohio represents the next big expansion zone for the SHL in the USA, and the all-star game could be the launching point.
