Listen, 80 seasons is a great accomplishment but at the end of the day it’s just another season ending in zero. The real celebration should be hitting double zeros.
I think saving all the celebrations for S100 is the play here. But you have to have a big giant event. preferably at HFFOs house and we all rub his head
If you go by human years, eighty is pretty impressive. In my opinion, and that of collectors, eighty officially becomes an antique. Ifs you go by SHL standards... eighty is most impressive and we're just getting warmed up! No need to celebrate, just enjoy the mark
80 seasons is obviously an incredible achievement in the league, but is it really a milestone? Nobody gets lauded for hitting 80 caps in international football, it’s too soon after 75, which is recognised as an actual milestone on the way to 100, to really be deserving of its own celebration I think, but a respectful acknowledgment is cool.
I think you can’t count 80 the same as 75 or 100. It’s not exactly on the projectile scale of the 1, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100 scale. I don’t think it holds as much weight. However, it is a milestone we should be thankful for because it’s just another season we can be thankful that SHL is a things
While impressive, I think celebrating the "every 25" seasons in a big way is the right way to go. But, we should all celebrate every season because how cool is it to say we have now had 80 seasons of SHL hockey?
While season 80 is of course nicer than 81 or 79, it is pretty obviously overshadowed by season 75, and even more overshadowed by season 100 once that one comes. But hey there are still 20 seasons to go until we reach that season 100, so let's for now celebrate the 80th :tada:
I personally think that S80 is a very important milestone because it is the season I got drafted :3 but actually it is an important milestone for the league to celebrate, even if it is a stepping stone towards the big 100.

I think I see it as a stepping stone to 100, s50 would have been a milestone as we are halfway to the centennial, 75 years the next one with a quarter way to go. To me s80 isnt anything special. Kinda like how they celebrate years a team exists or anniversaries. The big ones are every 25 years.
I think every season this league has growth, and is active is a reason to celebrate. Milestones are cool, but just seeing the success is what is important. Thank you to everyone who has aided in this wonderful place
I think its both honestly, its an important season like every season but also a stepping stone to 100 but in terms of celebrating it I dont really think we need a big celebration for it
Every year is an important and exciting season in the league. However, 80 is a nice round number, which people tend to care about. The league’s 80th season seems like a milestone, but really the centennial season is going to be the big party. Personally I don’t think the seasons that are divisible by 10 are any more or less important. Champions will be crowned the same as every other year. The fact that the league continues to thrive and grow after 80 seasons is what is truly important.
I think season 80 is more important and therefore is a bigger number than 75. We should have big celebrations every season do it for the players and the fans - the SHL has enough cash and people need a way to let lose and party!
Hockey fan for life. I pack the heat and score the goals!
numbers are more or less arbitrary, you can argue of course that base 10 is intrinsic since we have 10 fingers but even within that assumption 8/10 holds no inherent milestone value, 80 should hold no special regard in our minds here @goldenglutes
