Greatest Show on Earth would fit the wheelhouse for Jacob Marsh in all but one sport. Baseball put him in the corner infield and watch him go. Fielding above average while his throw power may have him better suited to the hot corner. Hitting is where he shines tho...he just hits dingers. Matt Stairs type all or nothing. He'll he may even be like Schwarber with sub .200 average but lead team in HR, RBI and up there in OBP, but he will strike out a ton.
Football he'd be a prototypical TE. Has hands and enough speed for his size that he would get a menace over the middle.
Hockey obviously would be his strong suit and fit in as a scoring wing/grinder depending on team needs. He would excel in this sport.
Then there's soccer. He will be next to useless as kicking a ball doesn't feel natural at all. He can rip shots they just wouldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Maybe he would he a natural keeper but don't think you take the chance putting him back there.
Written Option 2: Home Opening nights in the SHL are usually big shows for the Toronto North Stars. The Toronto North Stars fans are watching with anticipation, waiting for the first look at what their favourite teams are going to look like this season. As such as one of the up and coming bright young players on the Toronto North Stars Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava embraces opening night wholeheartedly, understanding the weight of the occasion. Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava ultimately views this night as a celebration of the sport of hockey, their team the North Stars, and the crazy die hard loyal fans of Toronto who fill the arena with energy and anticipation. Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava has the ultimate goal to leave a lasting impression both on and off the ice. On the ice Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava has the mindset of being laser focused on securing the win. Off the ice Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava ensures they are an ambassador for the team and the sport.
Anchor: It was opening night for the Detroit Falcons last night against the Maine Timbers. Our sports reporter has the highlights.
Reporter: The atmosphere was addictive in Detroit tonight; and even more so for the Falcons when Jimbob Ghostkeeper scored the 1st goal of the season for them. Unfortunately at that point they were already down 2-0. The player of the game was Jeffrey Bjelland who had 5 shots on goal, the most of anyone on the Falcons.
Bjelland: I love our fans so much; I just wish one of those shots would have gone in; the fans deserve better on opening night. We didn't live up to expectations and we already know we need to work harder to give the fans what they deserve.
Reporter: The fans left dejected but not without hope as the season is just getting started.
Anchor: The Falcons will look to bounce back with another game at home versus St. Louis later tonight.
Jussi Mutou was given the invite to be the representative for the SHL. Now he wasn’t the first choice. But Nathangus McExplosion had a serious case of food poisoning after eating some bad sushi. He ended up spending the weekend McExploding his toilet. But I’m getting off topic.
Jussi Mutou is surprisingly a good soccer player as well as hockey. In the soccer based challenges, he ends up ranking higher on average than the majority of other stars. In the dribbling and free kick portions he even manages to make it competitive with the soccer star sent to represent his sport.
He’s also pretty decent at baseball, managing to finish in the middle to upper half in most baseball events.
Unfortunately, the basketball portion is where Jussi Mutou falls behind, ranking at, or near the bottom in nearly every category. Turns out, Jussi’s high Puckhandling doesn’t translate well to dribbling a basketball. Overall, Jussi Mutou managed to finish in a respectable 3rd place.
With opening night coming in Montreal and Chopper playing a new position, he wanted to make a statement that this was a natural transition to defense. Often times the big boys go unappreciated in the stat sheet as many intangible statistics are the ones that defensemen excel at. Chopper wanted to break through that notion by getting on the scoresheet and work hard to bring his experience as a forward into play as he established himself as a defensemen. His rifle of a slap shot shined bright as sizzling shots rained down on the tender. He was thrilled to see the pop of the net as the puck crossed the line to score. He went and slammed into the glass in order to get fans more involved in the celebrations. Chopper has always played for the benefit of the fans. He knows that without the fans being at their best that the team cannot play at its best.

Option 1
I think hockey players in general have a big advantage in a multi-sport game show. If the show is structured in a way where each unique sport is highlighted in its own way, then the hockey players will perform the best overall. For baseball, the hand-eye coordination of the athletes will matter most, especially while holding a bat. Soccer players primarily use their feet and football players don't have to use tools for their hand-eye coordination. Hockey players are the only ones who stand a chance for baseball. Soccer is unique enough compared to the other sports because it only uses your feet and that's one where baseball players won't stand a chance. Footballers would be slightly better due to their kicking power, but hockey players have the strongest legs and good coordination due to skating being so hard. Football would probably be the sport that the hockey players would struggle the most in compared to the others, but that deficit would be more than made up for with the complete dominance in the hockey section of the show. No other athletes would even come close to being able to perform well on the terrain of the hockey players.
For me, the opening night of the season is really important. It’s the first time the fans come back in the arena after a long time, and I want to give them a good souvenir.
I always think about how to make it special, because the fans are always here to support us. It’s normal to give them something back (maybe a goal or a big Hip check during the game)
During the pre-game ceremony, I don’t do things too special or crazy. I try to smile a lot (try to be not ridiculous) and show I’m very happy to be there (and it's real).
On the ice, I give all I can, like 100% (120% was not possible...), to help the team win the first game at home. It’s important for me, but also for all the fans who come to see us.
After the match, if I’m not too tired, I stay a bit to talk with some fans or sign autographs. It’s a small thing, but I find it important.

Written Option 1:Dubbed “The Greatest Show on Earth”, your player was invited to participate in the game show filled with other athletes from other sports leagues to see which league is the best. The game show is filled with various tasks revolving around baseball, soccer, football and hockey so each contestant has something they’re great at. Does your player go? How do they do? Who are the other athletes involved? What sport does your player do worst in?
Given his increased age and declining high end skill I don't think Oskar would fair well in an event like this so he'd probably not participate, but a younger Oskar would certainly be interested. At his peak Oskar was an absolute specimen and would likely have faired quite well in a game show like this. As a ice hockey rep I'm hoping he'd dominate the competition at anything hockey or ice skating related, but outside of that I think Oskar could surprise some of the other athletes with his high level of endurance and strength. If there was a purely strength based challenge I think he could certainly beat many of the athletes from other sports such as basketball, soccer or baseball. Football could be a tough one to beat, unless it's like a wide receiver or quarterback representing it. In a flat out foot race I think he could do okay, but Oskar has always been one to focus on his explosiveness and less so his top end speed.
Grzegorz Brzeczyszczykiewicz always looks forward to opening night. It's the milestone that marks the beginning of a new season, a new shot at glory. At least, that's what it is for him: the moment to lock in. As such, the fans are usually in for a treat on opening night. Of course, sometimes it just doesn't work out, but there's never an opening night where Grzegorz isn't at least giving it his all. Sometimes, he's invited to a fan event after the opening game, at which he will stop and sign autographs despite being entirely soaked in sweat and perhaps not in the best of moods if the game went poorly. Sometimes, he isn't invited to this and it's the other stars up there instead; usually the team sends three to the fans and tries to pick the three who performed best that night. Fans are thus usually spared the worst of Grzegorz's moods after a really nasty loss.
I was excited to prove that Hockey is the toughest, most exciting, and truly the best athletes in the world. So when I was asked to join "The Greatest Show on Earth" I jumped at the opportunity. They pegged the best of the best against the best of the 4 major sports in North America, not sure how it is the Greatest on Earth but that is a story for another day."
The first few contests were simple, score a goal on a soccer net. No problem we all succeed.
Catch a football. Yep.
Catch a pop fly. Nailed it!
Score on an open net on a mat on the ice. We all did it.
Than we kicked it up to round two!
Header into the net with a defender. Well...the soccer and the football player did it. That defender jumped nearly as high I am tall! It was ridiculous!
Run the football passed a defender, flag football style. I got lucky as the last contestant and the defender was gassed. I was able to side step and get in. No one else got through.
Score a goal on a SHL goalie, in skates. It was Luke Fromm, and he did not have to do much against the baseball player, football player as they could barely move in skates. Some how the soccer player managed to get some speed but had no idea how to stick handle and his shot was not great. Somehow I couldn't score against the veteran backup to my embarrassment, but at least I could move.
To finish everything up we had to hit a baseball being pitched by a pro with a straight forward fast ball. Let me tell you there is nothing straight forward about a fast ball. 97 miles per hour 4 inch ball being thrown at you, in a blink of an eye it is already passed you.
Needless to say we (footballer, soccer and I) couldn't even hit the ball as it blew passed us in 3 quick strikes. The baseball player crushed it for 3 hits, 1 being a home run.
In the end, there was no winner crowned, although I still believe I was the best overall player, and we each went home licking our wounded pride.
My player, Louis Belanger, agree to go on The Greatest Show on Earth. he fairs well. The first competition is a soccer game and there are people from all around the globe. Rugby players are especially good at it, suprinsingly, but Louis fares well and even manages to score a goal. Next is a football game, 11v11. Louis does very well playing as a linebacker and crushing all his opponents. Since there are only 1 kicker per team, soccer players are stuck playing other positions and Louis uses this to his advantage. The third game is cricket. Louis has more difficulty with this competition as he doesn't understand the rule. After hitting the ''ball'' he runs to the base screaming HOME RUN, but it doesn't work out and his teammates are mad a it, especially the people who play cricket as a professional sport. It's not everyday you can play so many different sports and Louis has a bunch of fun.
I started writing this up and then I closed the window which is unfortunate. Home openings for a new season are always exciting! The Renegades continue to bring their best for their fans. They always look forward to hitting the ice for the first game of the season. The crowd is extra riled up and they set a benchmark for your performance for the season. The Renegades always look to deliver upon those expectations and will always try and do something special for attending fans. This season, the crowd has gone absolutely wild for Chris Valentine who won the League MVP and player voted MVP as well as the leading points and goal scorer awards. To show some fun and dedication to the fans, Valentine rode into the rink on a horse. The team wanted to ride in like true Renegades with Valentine leading the way. The opening line up could be seen on a cleared path leading to the rink rushing toward the arena. Once dismounted they signed autographs to anyone who had been outside aside the cleared area before they got ready for the night's game. When the opening lineup was announced on the PA the Renegades goal song "Renegades" by Styx was louder than ever as the crowd went absolutely nuts.
Robo Sven would never miss the opportunity to go to anything even RESEMBLING a talent show. He would spend ages downloading data on everything related to "The Greatest Show on Earth", including (but not limited to) who usually wins, what makes for the biggest crowd pleasers, and what kind of viral clips get circulated online after the show is aired. Of course he would excel at hockey, so he could skip a few steps there and not practice that too much. Instead, he would spend the next few weeks practicing football, soccer, badminton, darts, kart racing, and gymnastics. He finds a way to tie all of these together in a single act, sure to impress everyone in attendance. When he finally does his act everyone is impressed, however the act directly after his is a small child who can fart the alphabet on command so his act is quickly forgotten. Maybe he'll just stick to the SHL. (157 words)
