Just got off the phone with Grabovski: "Of course I feel [expletive] sad, I played [expletive] five years here."
Grabovski had some pretty blistering remarks toward Leafs coach Randy Carlyle. Called him a "stupid coach" among other things.
A taste of Grabovski on Carlyle: "Don’t put me on a [expletive] third line and then [expletive] play [me] six minutes in a game."
Poor guy.
If that's true, he can stay away from Detroit. Don't want a guy who feels entitled to top 6 minutes or feels he is above the rest of the team who plays those bottom 6 minutes.

You take the role that your given and you play your ass off for the good of the team and usually, almost always, if you play well enough the coach will give you a bigger role. That's not something Grabovski did last season. At no point did he even put pressure on Carlyle.
He's not a bottom-6 guy. He's a top-6er with nasty hands, good playmaking skills and a good defensive game.

and Grabovski had 5pts, all coming in 3 games. Grabovski was playing pretty bad whereas Kessel was actually playing very well and getting quality scoring chances. Like I said above, Kessel is also a game changer, you don't demote a player like that definitely when they are playing well and just on a slump. Not being hypocritical at all.
Kessel wasn't really getting a whole lot of chances until he almost broke out of the slump actually. When you pay a guy 5.5M he should be a game changer....or at least have the chance to be one. But yes contradicting yourself entirely with the two.
Anyway, Grabo is gone and it was a smart move. /End
Mike Komisarek @mkomisarek now
Grabo is all heart and shows it every shift he plays. He's been an awesome teammate and some team will be very lucky to have him.
and lol @ grabo
"I play in the [expletive] Russian KHL, I make lots of [expletive] points and what's going to happen? He make me [expletive] play on the fourth line and he put me in the playoffs on the fourth line and third line again," Grabovski spewed. "Yeah, I don't score goals. I need to work more about that. I know that. But if you feel support from your coach [you'll find success]. I don't feel any support from this [expletive] idiot."

uh what? Kessel was getting a shit ton of chances... No I wasn't contradicting myself. One player was playing better, another was not. It's pretty simple to understand.
@Gibby You will want him. He is a great all around player. He is just frustrated.

Who the fuck cares. My point still stands. You get demoted, you'd better work your ass off to show that the coach was wrong and force his hand to put you back into the top 6. You shouldn't feel entitled to anything. Especially not a player of Grabovski's calibre.
Kadri just came in and was a beast. Grabo was bad. After awhile Kadri took Grabo's top six spot. Grabovski didnt play well enough to get back in the top six and get more minutes. That's all there is to it.

Something Carlyle said once he got here. No one is entitled to a spot on the team, you must earn it.

Some players really need confidence from their coach to play well and Grabovski has been one of those players since his Hamilton days.
