Thank Me Later is like a 3.7 for me, NWTS a 3.6, and Take Care a 3.1 (though I may re-look at TC, since I like a few of its songs more than I originally rated them at, will prob get a bump up on a few tracks, which will bump it up a tad).

Listening to NWTS. Will be getting a bump up from a 3.57 to a 3.75. Bumped a couple of tracks (namely "Too Much", "Hold On, We're Going Home", and "Started from the Bottom") up a tad. It is still a 6/10 and average album for me (based on my system for that), but a 3.76 would mean it's a 7 and above average album, so it's close. Right there with Thank Me Later.

Danny Brown - Old</div> Side A (Old): 4.25/5 -Really good start. I love normal voice Danny Brown. The Return (ft. Freddie Gibbs): 4.5/5 -GANGSTA GIBBS. nuff said 25 Bucks (ft. Purity Ring): 4.75/5 -Really dope track, shows how Brown's slightly odd voice can be used effectively. The hook really works with the verses. Wonderbread: 4.25/5 -Full force crazy voice. Can barely understand what he is saying, yet I like it here. Both this and NWTS are by artists I don't like that much yet I like the opening to both. Hmmmm.... Gremlins: 4/5 Dope Fiend Rental (ft. Schoolboy Q): 3.5/5 Torture: 3.75/5 -Just a little slow and monotonous. Lonely: 4/5 Clean Up: 4.25/5 Red 2 Go: 4.5/5 Side B (Dope Song): 4.25/5 Dubstep (ft. Scrufizzer): 4.5/5 -The end is strange, but still pretty dope. Dip: 4/5 -"Don't let me into my zone"...dis Kanye reference. Smokin & Drinkin: 3.5/5 Break It (Go): 4/5 Handstand: 3.25/5 -Wtf yo. Way Up Here (ft. Ab-Soul): 3.5/5 Kush Coma (ft. A$AP Rocky & Zelooperz): 4/5 Float On (ft. Charli XCX): 4.5/5 77.25/95 -> 4.07/5 -Overall, a really good album. I am not a big Danny Brown guy at all and am generally annoyed by his voice, but here, he largely seems to rap normally and when he does, it is incredibly effective. It is so effective, in fact, that I kind've like it when he raps in his silly, crazy voice that he so frequently uses. I was quite impressed by this album as a whole and it is most definitely a very good project.

Later, Dylan. Later. I'm listening to JT's new album again to finalize the ratings and then I'll check out DC3.

Justin Timberlake - The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2</div> Gimme What I Don’t Know (I Want): 4.5/5 True Blood: 4/5 Cabaret (ft. Drake): 4.25/5 TKO: 4/5 Take Back the Night: 3/5 Murder (ft. Jay-Z): 3.75/5 Drink You Away: 4.25/5 You Got It On: 4/5 Amnesia: 4.75/5 Only When I Walk Away: 3.5/5 -He sounds like Kevin Rudolf on this track. His singing voice is essentially Rudolf's on "In the City"... Not a Bad Thing: 4.75/5 44.75/55 -> 4.07/5 -After Part I was easily one of my favorite albums of the year so far, this one was most certainly disappointing. Was it bad? Nah. Was it Part I? No. There's really no reason for these tracks to be released on a full length LP, would have made more sense to just make the first one longer and include like 3-5 of these tracks. Also, I didn't plan for it to have the same rating as Old. That shit just kind've happened. Also, I love Timberlake, so bias is present. Probably could subtract .2 and that's more accurate for most people.

Pusha T - My Name Is My Name</div> King Push: 4.75/5 -Beat bangs and Push rips it a new one. YUGH Numbers On The Board: 3.5/5 -WOAT beat, but Push kills it all the same. Sweet Serenade (ft. Chris Brown): 4.5/5 -I've said it before and I'll say it again; I hate Chris Brown, but the *****'s got talent. Hold On (ft. Rick Ross): 4.75/5 -Dis Kanye sample. Why is it that when Rick Ross features on GOOD songs, he drops the best verses of his career? This and "Devil in a New Dress" are Rozay at his best. Suicide (ft. Ab-Liva): 4.25/5 -The hook is so silky smooth. 40 Acres (ft. The-Dream): 4.75/5 No Regrets (ft. Jeezy & Kevin Cossum): 4.5/5 Let Me Love You (ft. Kelly Rowland): 4.25/5 Who I Am (ft. 2 Chainz & Big Sean): 4.5/5 -Dis beat. 2 Chainz and Big Sean always manage to not ruin a hot ass verse from Push. Nosetalgia (ft. Kendrick Lamar): 4.25/5 Pain (ft. Future): 4.75/5 -Track dropped LAST YEAR. Crazy stuff that it still wound up being on here. Still dope as hell too. S.N.I.T.C.H. (ft. Pharrell): 4/5 52.75/60 -> 4.4/5 -Pusha T delivers here big time. Throughout, the album is blessed with awesome beats and awesome verses dropped by both Pusha and the features. Not much to be disappointed about here as for an album we have waited for all year, it lives up to expectations and more. Banned Most Hated |
