It's a little tough, but if you are patient and follow the walkthrough its not that bad. Plus it helps you learn the site and realize that a league like this requires effort.

Not really anything, I understand they might not be entertained but that gives them more time to create media, make money, meet everyone.

I think it's fine as is. The semi rigorous sign up process helps weed out inactives.
