Brief Synopsis
</div>

Another close game between two of the best teams in the SMJHL comes down to the wire. Tons of shots and lots of goals presents an flipped version of the first meeting between these teams just a week ago. When goaltenders Maximilian Wehner and Georgette Pel dueled until the 8th shooter in the shootout. Vancouver goaltender Maximilian Wehner holds on for his team in a nailbiting 4-3 win.

The Halifax Raiders and Vancouver Whalers began the season as the favorites to meet in the S31 SMJHL Finals. Both teams have stacked rosters with SHL prospects just about ready to make the jump to the big time. Both teams are loaded with talent from front to back. Sporting veteran forwards on both teams, solid defensive units with future superstars and two of the best goaltenders in the SMJHL. A game of complete opposites from their meeting the week before leads us to believe that a Halifax/Vancouver final would be a thing of beauty.

The first period of the game proved be fairly exciting as both teams would put nearly 10 shots on the others goaltender. Challenging and pushing the other team to match aggressiveness. The Raiders struck first with a beautiful goal for forward Nicklas Flower, his 8th of the season, as he took the puck and danced around the Vancouver defense to beat Wehner. But not long after on the powerplay, physical forward Ieuan Llewellyn placed a perfect shot to beat Georgette Pel to keep the game level.

Second period hockey was even more exciting. The offensive game started ramping up for both teams. But Vancouver took it to another level. Peppering Pel with an impressive 17 shots in the period and putting two into the net. The first of which came on a 2nd power play and a monster shot from veteran defender Victor Lindstrom. Sandwiched between the two Vancouver goals was a beautiful shot from Isaac Kaiser which beat Wehner and leveled the game at two. The final goal of the period came on a blistering shot from offensive star defeseman Ludwig Koch Schroder. A beautiful pass from Steven Stamkos found Schroder at the point and he unleashed. Beating Pel and putting the Whalers up by one.

As we went into the 3rd period, the Halifax Raiders knew they had to do something to pull this game even again. Unfortunately for them they were not ready for the dazzling show that Steven Stamkos Jr. was about ready to put on in front of their defense. With an amazing outlet pass from Adam Kaiser (not to be confused with the Raiders Isaac Kaiser), he danced and pirouted around the Halifax defense. Making Georgette Pel lose his movements and he blasted it passed her and into the net. The Raiders weren't done but it was a little too late as Leif De Bruin, a rookie for the Raiders, scored for the first time this season on a brilliant shot. But despite the best effort of the Raiders, this game belonged to Vancouver.
