Even the Dar is a struggle to really determine who is the best "two-way" "defensive" forward. Adding one for a defenseman would be silly to me.

That makes sense to me. Even though we don't have many stats that can show who is the best defensive defenseman doesn't mean that we should just ignore them when it comes award time, we do the best we can with what we have.

They should be utilized when determining who deserves the Stevens. Diluting the award into two makes two awards with even less clout.

Yes but saying the best defenseman is too broad, I think splitting it into two best defensive and offensive would he clear it up. We could also keep the Stevens for just best all around.
