Task 03: Selected in the S46 entry draft, Karlstraße has now completed 3 seasons in the juniors and is ready to take the next step. Coming off the best season of his young career he finished the year with 37 points, leading his team in defensive scoring. Through 3 seasons he's collected just shy of 100 points showing his strong offensive upside. He also led the league in powerplay points showing he's equally deadly on the man advantage, something that should help in his transition to the SHL. One area that may be concerning however is his defensive responsibility. Finishing his most recent season with a -25 rating, the worst in the league, he certainly has some room to improve. Fortunately for him he joins one of, is not the best, top 4 bluelines in the league with the Edmonton Blizzard. Names like McIntyre, Tuck, Kalju and the recently retired Tanner and Chiclets should be able to help him refine his game quite quickly.

Task 05:
2. History is certainly on Calgary's side. Steelhead and cookies have built some tremendously successful teams over the last 2 decades and have the hardware to prove it. I'd have to give the advantage to JR and Wongy this time around though as recent history strongly flavors them as shown by their 5 finals appearance in just 7 seasons (8? either way impressive stuff).
5. Honestly any team other than Calgary and I'd be in shock, but the Dragons are known for getting the most out of their lineup so I'm going to "downgrade" it to a major surprise. They have several big pieces, but the depth is definitely lacking when compared to their peers. They are certainly trending in the right direction and this playoff push bodes well for what is likely to come for the Calgary based squad.
7. They went out and acquired some big pieces to make a strong indication they are win now and the moves paid off. They entered as the top team and looked convincing in round 2. Buffalo was a tough matchup in round 3 and honestly could very well have won and it wouldn't have shocked anyone, but with them out of the way I think it's a far stretch from a shock to see them in the finals once again.
8. Both goalies have performed well to date, but you can't put anyone side by side with Beaujeaux right now. Sure it helps to have a star studded team in front of you, but what he has done through 2 rounds of games is nothing short of incredible. With 8 wins and a sparkling 0.94 save percentage he's damn near unstoppable and should make a very convincing case for most valuable player of the playoffs.

Task 09: Toss up between the New Orleans Specters and Buffalo Stampede here. Both made it all the way to game 7 of the Challenge Cup finals last season and followed up with strong performances again the S47 regular season. Entering the playoffs they each had a strong case to repeat as the conference winner and they both failed to make a repeat appearance in the finals. If I had to pick one though I guess it would have to be New Orleans. Whereas Buffalo would meet their demise to the eventual Challenge cup winner in round 3, the Specters failed to exit the second round after a heartbreaking loss to the Texas Renegades. No disrespect to the Renegades as they'd eventually go on to finish the playoffs with the top 4 scorers in the playoffs despite failing to make the finals, but I think most of us had New Orleans cruising back them on their way to another Challenge cup final appearance. Especially when you take in to the consideration the monster of a regular season they had.

Task 11: Of the two teams in the finals that made it all the way to the finals I believe Calgary surprised a lot of people. They have some tremendous top end talent like Mike Izzy, Otis B Driftwood and Maksimov as well as a few very promising young guns like Rainbow Dash and Chico Smeb, but the depth is definitely not as impressive as some of the other teams in the league, especially on the blue line. That being said I think Calgary would benefit greatly from scooping another teams defender. Two names that come to mind are Brady McIntyre from the Edmonton Blizzard, the team Calgary defeated in the conference quarter finals, and The Dude from the Texas Renegades, a team the Dragons defeated in the conference semi-finals. Both of these younger defenders have yet to hit regression and have had their names tossed around when in comes to seasonal awards. Top earners from the S39 and S38 class respectively, they would go a long way to helping solidify Calgary's blueline for this post season run and beyond. @caltroit_red_flames @Dude
