Task 1:
Following his second season in the SMJHL, Josh Driver returned to his small hometown in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Driver's hockey career, including his time in the NCAA in addition to his young SMJHL career, has been a source of major pride and excitement for the people of his hometown. An assembly was held at his former high school, where he came out and gave a speech in front of the current student body and a large number of community members. The school then played a video showing highlights of him as a high school player, highlights of his Lake Superior State University career, and highlights of his first two seasons with the Detroit Falcons. Following the video, Josh announced that he would be making a donation to the school to be used to purchase brand new jerseys and equipment for the hockey program. To end the event, it was reveled that the local arena that hosts the high school games would be renamed Josh Driver Arena. Josh ended the day by reconnecting with his former coaches, teachers, and others in the community before heading to the newly named Josh Driver Arena to participate in practice with the high school team. |
