SMJHL prospects to draft and stash:
Want to get a leg up on them good young players in the juniors? Hockey News looks at the prospects to target currently playing in the SMJHL. In this article, we'll take a quick look at some of the top new goalie draftees to the SHL, and forecast when you can expect to have them make an impact on your fantasy team. Up first is Whalers goalie, and WKP (champs) draft pick Kasperi Braulin @me . Braulin was selected in the first round, a feat rarely done for a goalie, last done in S42 by Geezus Kryyst. Braulin looks to take over the starting gig in Vancouver this season, as the previous #1 went inactive after a tampering controversy. This isn't to say Braulin is ill-prepared for the role, as he recently capped and is the highest earning netminder from his class (360 TPE). He projects to be a top goaltender in the J for two to three more seasons, and take over in the SHL for Beaujeaux Biscuit when the goaltending great decides to hang em up. Next is Biz Nasty @GrilledTwinkiez . Nasty was picked up by the Edmonton Blizzard this season, and projects to again backup Mike McKorsy in Halifax this season. Nasty is in a similar situation as Braulin, he just wasn't fortunate enough to have a starting gig suddenly open up. He looks to unseat Tommy Tuck as the #1 in Edmonton, and with Tuck about to enter regression, Nasty should be in a good spot to do so in 2-3 seasons. Finally in Alexander Thorstrom@Jesster . Thorstrom was drafted 2nd overall by the Raptors, and ended up starting the majority of the season for them. He'll start again, but with fellow S48 goalie Knox Booth hot on his heels TPE wise, he could share the duties with him. Thorstrom has to surpass S41 draftee Kata Vilde for the #1 spot in Calgary, so he could be waiting an extra few seasons compared to his S48 draftmates. (want to mention more but I'm already way over the minimum! Go S48 goalies go!) |
