Here we breakdown the hard hitters and league tough guys to target on draft day.

Most of know the big movers and shakers in the SHL when it comes to throwing the body around and dropping the gloves. We know The Mike Izzys and Viktor Mariuses are going to be gobbled up very quickly for those precious hit numbers. I want to talk to you about a value pick. Let's say it is final round of your draft and you need somebody to rack up some hits and fights. Check out Nat Emerson. Emerson is one of the least flashy players in the SHL but you could get some good value out of him with your closing picks. In the preseason Emerson finished with with 84 hits, good for second best on the West Kendall Platoon. Now I know that isn't outstanding what boosts him up is the fact that he dropped the gloves 4 times in the preseason which puts him in the top ten for fights taken. He went 2-0-2 in his fights which throws him in the top five for fights won. Word around town is that Emerson has mentioned he wants to get more into the physical game he played in the SMJHL. Since joining the SHL his focus has been mostly on his skating and positioning but now that he is close to topping out in those aspects he is looking to bring that fierceness back. As long as he can get enough ice time I see him hitting 100 hits and getting into at least 5 fights this year.
