Both teams in our challenge cup series come in with a healthy set of talented young players. if you were to choose a player from either teams SHL roster or there prospect pool with a (start date of S45, S46, S47 or S48) to build your team around, who would it be and why? What qualities on or off the ice make them 'that guy' and how do you think they would shape the image of their franchise? (150+ words and *tag any player involved in this task)

If I had to choose one young player from either side competing in the final to build my team around, I would choose Buffalo Stampede right winger and season 45 draftee Alexander Selich. Despite being a recent draftee, Selich has already accumulated 990 TPE and I will only get better from there. Since @”Tomen” is one of the Stampede GMs, you have to assume that Selich will stay loyal to the team for most of his career. Selich already has SHL experience and he proved that he can be a reliable player this season. He is also pretty versatile, because even if he is listed as a right winger, he spent most of his time this year playing center. Versatility is really a helpful thing for your franchise player to have. Finally, he seems to have hit another level in this year’s playoffs in which he has 14 points in 16 games and a +10 going into the final. I really believe he is on his way to become a franchise player.

For most of us S48 is over and now its time to sit down with your GM's for a season end review! talk to your GM's about what youve accomplished, what you are strong at, what you need to improve on and what would you like your role to be moving into S49. Task must be 150 words or more. (*Tag your GM’s)

S48 was a really good season for Anders Christiansen and by far is best since he joined the SHL. Anders ended up the season with an outstanding 20 goals and 62 points, good for the 2nd scorer in the league. However, Anders got traded from Toronto to New England during the season and he should be more acclimatized to his new environment going into next season. Going into next season, Christiansen is expected to still be the top line center in New England. The main objective should be to replicate the performance from S48 since he was one of the top players and it would be unfair to expect more from him since he will be hit by regression from the first time this off-season. In terms of improvements, Anders should work on his faceoff skills who was below 50% while he was with the Wolfpack. Another thing to improve would be to diminish the number of minor penalties taken by Christiansen.

F: Viktor Marius
F: Jason Visser
I chose Moreau, because he performs better since the beginning of the playoffs, Makela and Grease are the two best defenseman from each team. Wagstrom is there because he is the best young players from both teams. Marius was chosen for his high skills and Visser is there for his performance in the regular season.

2. This series boasts an interesting matchup at the blue line between star studded defenders! Which includes Troy McClure III, Gary Grease and Slip McScruff from Winnipeg.. & Buffalo's Tatu Makela, Connor Tanner and Charles Walker.. which group do you expect will outshine the other and why?

I think the Buffalo Stampede have the better group of defenseman, mainly because of the depth. I think the Stampede have the better number 1 defenseman in Makela compared to Grease, while Winnipeg has the better number 2 with Troy McClure III. After this, I think Buffalo come on top, because they have five defenseman with OV of 78 or more compared to 3 for the Jets.

3. Winnipeg making it to the finals was an unexpected surprise. What were some of the main reasons why this franchise was able to persevere into the leagues most important series.  (*tag anyone involved)

I think Winnipeg experience is one of the main reasons why they are in the finals against, they have great leaders and they help them get where they are now. Their second line has also been awesome in these playoffs. But mostly, I think they are in the finals because of how stellar their defense and goaltending has been these playoffs.

Buffalo has a team that is really well build with both high-end talent and depth at every position. Makela and Marius are the leader at their respective position and everyone seems to follow their path. I think the credit should mostly go to the general managers who have built this team with great drafting and good trades to fill the holes that were left.

5. Both franchises come into the series with a hot Cedric! Between Winnipegs Cedric Moreau and Buffallo's Cedric Robinson which emerging netminder has the advantage over the other in this series?

Going into the final, I think that Winnipeg Jets Cedric Moreau has the advantage over Cedric Robinson, because of his performance in the playoffs before the finals. Right now, Moreau has a major case for the playoffs MVP trophy. His save percentage of 0.937 vs 0.924 for Robinson and goal against average of 2.03 for Moreau vs 2.19 is why I pick the Jets goaltender.
