Both teams in our challenge cup series come in with a healthy set of talented young players. if you were to choose a player from either teams SHL roster or there prospect pool with a (start date of S45, S46, S47 or S48) to build your team around, who would it be and why? What qualities on or off the ice make them 'that guy' and how do you think they would shape the image of their franchise? (150+ words and *tag any player involved in this task)
If I were to pick a player, only one comes to mind. @hhh81 better known as Cass Darrow. We played together in Colorado, his entire tenure he exuded leadership. The player he most reminds me of is Erik Karlsson. The strength to lead a team anywhere. Cass is able to maintain a General role on the ice, tactically dictating play to suit the needs of the team at any given time. Off the ice, he is a positive role model and mentor to guys in the locker room both in Colorado and Buffalo. I know when I was drafted to Buffalo, I was and continue to be extremely excited to play along side someone who is going to help me be the player I want to be and bring out the best of me night in and night out. Cass is a sure fire hall of famer and someone I am incredibly lucky to call a good friend.

For most of us S48 is over and now its time to sit down with your GM's for a season end review! talk to your GM's about what youve accomplished, what you are strong at, what you need to improve on and what would you like your role to be moving into S49. Task must be 150 words or more. (*Tag your GM’s)
I think @WannabeFinnknows what I want and that is to be called up and play a game for Buffalo. He's making it happen so I've got no real worries. What have I accomplished? I wish I could say I've brought 3 or 4 four star cups to Colorado or I've won a prestigeous trophy. But I haven't. What I have done is form a formidable high scoring defensive pairing with Jules Watt and for most of the season was one of the top scoring Defensemen in the J. I helped to quarterback a potent power play and led in PP scoring the first half of the season. Where I need improvement is lowering Penalty Minutes. Early in the season I was the lowest on the team with 2 and ended the season in the mid 30s including one fight. So discipline is a necessity. Overall, I feel like I am ready to go finally and I am grateful for Finn for giving me the opportunity next season.

For those in the SMJHL, your job is to fine tune your game to be ready for a call up to the SHL. Part of that fine tuning is having to decide what kind of player you want to be. That can be a tough decision to make as it impacts your entire career! What made you decide on the position you picked? why did you choose your specific player template and talk to us about the type of player in the SHL that you would like your game to resemble. (must be 150+ words)
When I first joined the league, I thought about wanting to be the next Gretz or Lemieux but the truth is I like to hit people, even RL. So I started thinking of D, Chelios, Karlsson, Stevens, etc until I settled on Andrei Markov from Montreal. Someone who could hit and also score 30 points a season and thats the kind of player I zeroed in on. In the new NHL, post 05 lockout the need for huge bodied D men is gone and speed is king. In the SHL, there's no injuries and I've no idea how speed is worked out but puck handling and defense are a huge necessity for any two way defender. If there is an SHL player that I could fine tune into as well, Cass Darrow and Jules Watt are it. High scoring but essential defenders on the first line who can get down to block shots but are also pivotal 200 foot game players.
