CW TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE)
Both teams in our challenge cup series come in with a healthy set of talented young players. if you were to choose a player from either teams SHL roster or there prospect pool with a (start date of S45, S46, S47 or S48) to build your team around, who would it be and why? What qualities on or off the ice make them 'that guy' and how do you think they would shape the image of their franchise? (150+ words and *tag any player involved in this task)
As much as I rag on him, I have to go with my former junior buddy, Mr Monkey D. Luffy. He's shown hes very committed to the league, site, and his team. He's a monster of a TPE earner, and doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon in that regard, also, he's a centre. A top earning centreman is a great pick up for any team to have, and most would be lucky to get someone of this guys caliber. Dealing with him in discord is a great time too, he's always there for someone to talk to, and having him on your team means the locker room will never be empty. He can step in and be a natural leader on any team, and having him join up forces with @Tomen and @WannabeFinn I think will be the groundwork of a dangerous team for many seasons to come.

For most of us S48 is over and now its time to sit down with your GM's for a season end review! talk to your GM's about what youve accomplished, what you are strong at, what you need to improve on and what would you like your role to be moving into S49. Task must be 150 words or more. (*Tag your GM’s)
I recently sat down with the GM of the Calgary Dragons, Esa Anrikkannen. I asked what he thought of my past and future within the organization. "You're strong on Defense in the D zone, blocked shots and being physical, good puck mover, break out passes etc. You're in more of a shut down role at the moment but will be expanding your offense in the coming seasons. That's probably the biggest area for improvement, offense. You'll be in a similar role next season, pair 2 and PK. Then when the offense comes up, we'll get you on the powerplay."
Coming into the SHL as an offensive defenseman, I had a bit of a different role in mind, but I must say that I love the role I have now. When Calgary drafted me, they also drafted another offensive D in Chico Smeb, then proceeded to pair us together. As I had a bit better defensive stats, I was moved into a more defensive role and have embraced it.

CW TASK 05: (Written, up to 4 TPE)
Pick up to 4 challenge cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth '1' TPE. Each answer must be '50' words or more.
1. Put together a challenge cup fantasy team using the 2 teams in the finals as the player pool. This fantasy team must include at least 1 young player (S44 or higher) and in 50+ words discuss your choices.
RW - Lil' Manius
LW - Viktor Marius
C - Jason Visser
D - Gary Grease
D - Tatu Makela
G - Vivian Leblanc
This team is a legitimate fantasy contender. You have Visser and Marius who are constant top threats in fantasy. Grease and Makela who are no slouches either, Manius, who really came onto the fantasy scene in a big way this year. Then Leblanc, as really goalies are the least of my worries in fantasy and I needed to fill my young player spot.
2. This series boasts an interesting matchup at the blue line between star studded defenders! Which includes Troy McClure III, Gary Grease and Slip McScruff from Winnipeg.. & Buffalo's Tatu Makela, Connor Tanner and Charles Walker.. which group do you expect will outshine the other and why?
I think Buffalos core will outshine Winnipegs. Winnipeg has an outstanding offensive game, but I think the Stampede D core will be able to step up in a big way and shut them down. Both teams have plenty of fire power, but in the end I think it will come down to the defensive battle, and I think Buffalos is just a hair better then the Jets.
3. Winnipeg making it to the finals was an unexpected surprise. What were some of the main reasons why this franchise was able to persevere into the leagues most important series. (*tag anyone involved)
I think Winnipeg had a great season, and yes they did excel past many peoples expectations, I think there's 3 main players that really helped push Winnipeg over the edge. The play of Lil' Manius was stellar and showed what he will be capable of for seasons to come. The other 2 are part of the Jets old guard, in Jason Visser and Crossfit Jesus. Both looked like men possessed all season as they showed what geriatics are capable of.
4. Buffalo has made it to the finals in 2 of the last 3 seasons. Who or what has been a primary reason for the recent success of this franchise. (*tag anyone involved)
Buffalo has built up a strong core in Marius, Makela, Metzler and Walker and now looks to be bringing up a new core in Svensson, Sharp, Luffy, Selich and Robinson. They are a tough team to compete against and look to be quite a force for the next few seasons. All these players as well as the supporting cast is what has given Buffalo success the past few seasons.

For those in the SMJHL, your job is to fine tune your game to be ready for a call up to the SHL. Part of that fine tuning is having to decide what kind of player you want to be. That can be a tough decision to make as it impacts your entire career! What made you decide on the position you picked? why did you choose your specific player template and talk to us about the type of player in the SHL that you would like your game to resemble. (must be 150+ words)
Coming into the SHL I created as an offensive defensemen. I picked this as I wanted to have a bit more of a defensive role, but also contribute a bit on the scoresheet. I felt there was a bit of a need for D in my draft as it seemed it was pretty forward heavy. Coming into the SHL, I have found myself in more of a defensive role, which actually I am embracing as all I want is team success. Don't get me wrong, having personal success is great, but my one major goal is to get a Challenge Cup and I am willing to play any role on the team to help us towards that goal. My defensive partner, Chico Smeb has upped his offensive game considerably since he has moved up, so I feel like being more responsible defensively in a complimentary role to him is best for my game and the team at this point.
