With his on-ice ability allowing him to be such a threat on the wing right now, it's a no-brainer to pick him as a player to build my team around. Every good team in the SHL has an elite forward to help them really rise abover, and I think Sharp is the future for the Buffalo Stampede. Off ice, I think Sharp has been a tremendous precense around the league and is a good updater to have on the updating team. With a player like Sharp in your prospect pool / on your team, it makes it a lot easier to attract elite talent due to having a player with the sheer skill as Sharp. The future is super bright for him, and I think that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the league in the future. 155. @Nerio Code: CW TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE) Hey JR and Glyc, I wrote you, but you still ain't callin'. I think that my first season with the West Kendall Platoon has been a big success. I felt I took a big jump in my game, and with that being said, I definitely need to improve offensively to become a bigger threat to other teams. I feel I could do better, especially on the power play. Going forward, I think that my role should be the same - a top four defenceman who is offensively gifted. But I need to do better and slap some pucks home. My regular season was pretty good, but I was disappointed with my own performance in the playoffs. With that being said, the future for the West Kendall Platoon is bright, and I'm happy to be a part of it. All hail the Platoon. Forever. Congrats on building such a solid team boys. 150. @JR95 @Glyc Code: CW TASK 05: (Written, up to 4 TPE) Sharp - Visser - Jesus Makela - Grease Robinson I think this team would absolutely merk every team in the SHL. It really is the perfect lineup of players in my eyes. There's a young future star in Bobby Sharp, a HOF Lock in Jason Visser, and a retiring legend in Crossfit Jesus. The defensive core balances offence and defence with Makela and Grease respectively, and Cedric Robinson is a phenomenal goaltender who can carry his team on his back. 71. Code: 2. This series boasts an interesting matchup at the blue line between star studded defenders! Which includes Troy McClure III, Gary Grease and Slip McScruff from Winnipeg.. & Buffalo's Tatu Makela, Connor Tanner and Charles Walker.. which group do you expect will outshine the other and why? I think currently, the Buffalo Stampede blue line would outshine Winnipeg's, but 2 seasons from now, I think that the Jets will be boasting such a great defensive core it will make them such a hard team to beat. Especially with Connor Tanner being a 1 season acquisition definitely makes a case for Winnipeg's defensive core being elite here. Makela and Walker are no slouches either, but they're getting up there in age while the Jets have Slip McScruff coming in as a young buck. 85. Code: 3. Winnipeg making it to the finals was an unexpected surprise. What were some of the main reasons why this franchise was able to persevere into the leagues most important series. (*tag anyone involved) Winnipeg making it into the finals isn't super surprising for me. The western conference is a complete shit shoot, and with the Jets having as good of a top line that they have, it does make a lot of sense for them to be contending. Visser is easy a first ballot hall of fame player, and when you have him and Crossfit Jesus, who knows something about winning in the playoffs as well, it makes sense that they would be challenging for the Challenge Cup. @[crossfit jesus] @ToeDragon84 Code: 4. Buffalo has made it to the finals in 2 of the last 3 seasons. Who or what has been a primary reason for the recent success of this franchise. (*tag anyone involved) @WannabeFinn has been a great GM for the Stampede - albeit my dealings with him as GM have been not fantastic. With him at the helm, the Stampede have been a great team to watch for, and looking back at it, he was definitely the right choice of GM for that franchise, bringing it out of the abyss and bringing it to prominence. 62. Code: CW TASK 10: (Written, 3 TPE) I think that a Challenge Cup History report should be done on the dynasties of the SHL. Like the Calgary Dragons and the New England Wolfpacks of the S30s. How dominant their performances were and how the team was built. I think that those would be the most interesting reports that could be done (and maybe the future idea for an article or 2 of mine). With that being said, the indexes are down right now so I can't really pick any specific players or teams that were good, but I can tell you straight up that Esa and Eggy were 2 of the best GMs that this league has ever seen. I would love to write a series on "how it was built" with those teams in mind. I think the user reception of these articles would be good as well so it does make sense for me to maybe work on it and create something that everyone can enjoy. 161.
