Lethbridge is just starting to hit its stride as the season comes heads into its main phase. After some early struggles which had us at the bottom of the table by a significant margin, we are now right in the middle of the pack with only 3 points between us and 4th place. The main two things that kept us down in the first half of the season were our powerplay struggles and an abysmal home record. We are 3-8-1 in our own barn, and while our powerplay percentage has been held up to a respectable 18.28%, that is pretty much all through our second unit, the 1PP has been mostly held in check. The stats that give us optimism are our penalty kill percentage and the number of rookies we have on our team. Our PK is number 1 in the league stopping 85.26% of opposing powerplays from converting. The number of rookies on our team may seem like a disadvantage but for us, it signals room for growth. With 13 rookies on our roster, we have extraordinary room for growth as they rack up early TPE like training camp and Post Game Shows. We hope that our young team can hit its stride at the right time and make moves in the playoffs.
