Special Teams Keeps it Close

The Outlaws won this game, but not because of their special teams.  The Berserkers were able to capitalize on two of their four powerplay opportunities with goals from rookie defenseman Jukka Timonen and five year veteran winger Cody.  On the opposite side, the Outlaws just couldn’t get their own powerplay going.  Their flow was stopped multiple times by going offside and even icing the puck twice on the same powerplay.  Newfoundland G Steven Vassallo stopped all 3 shots that came his way while the team was a man down.  While the Berserkers did not have the greatest showing overall, the special teams managed to keep the game for almost the entire game.
