1.
In an alternate reality, that is very much different from the one that is present right now, we would have a completely different playoff outcome. The panthers will emerge victorious against the dragons in a hard fought out game 7, the stampede will advance blowing out Toronto once again. In the west, Panthers will overcome Pride in 6 games as well as the blizzard beating the specters. In the east, we will have the stampede once again blowing out the steelhawks as they are no longer allowed to use their loophole. Syndicate will also advance over manhattan. Now heading into the semi's, the panthers will once again do the unthinkable and beat the blizzard in a hard fought out game 7 once again. In the east, the stampede will continue to blow out their opponents, this time being the syndicates. Then we arrive at the showdown of the challenge cup finals. A totally different finals from the one we have right now where the Panthers will face against the Stampede. A fight between a the agile panthers and the heavy loaded buffaloes. GM wastlund of the Panthers has gone to the finals many times but is keen on securing the challenge cup once and for all this season. On the other side, we have GM Wannabefinn, who has already seen the cup twice in his reign. THe Stampede clearly have the experience over the panthers when it comes to securing the cup and will take it at their pace. The games were tight with them alternating in wins between each team and we finally head to game 7. Phillip Winter posted an excellent game scoring 4 points and was hailed the playoff MVP. Afterall he did bring the panthers their first challenge cup in so long. 2. As we are moving to a different sim engine next season, it really is hard to predict what the heck is going to happen. Who knows, since everyone is new at this, Toronto may even have a chance with how fickle the sim engines are. But judging based on tpe, i would give the highest odds of winning the challenge cup to New England Wolfpack from the east and Calgary Dragons from the West. The lowest odds are obviously Toronto North Stars as they are sitting way at the bottom. As we are moving to FHM, it seems like you will need a whole lot of tpe to be on the top end of the league in terms of production and thus, this is why i based my predictions solely on tpe. If someone does however tries to find a loophole in FHM such as a overpowered tactic or something, this may very well change the odds. So for example it is not impossible for the Northstars to win the Cup. 3. As we are moving to FHM, i did a little analysis myself to see what type of player i wanted to create. Since I am a defenseman, i chose three defenseman, I can model my player after in terms of the points production. From the list i was provided, Brent Burns, Mark Giordanno and John Carlson had the highest production. Two of these three were two-way defenseman and thus i decided I should go for that archetype if I wanted to make an impact in the league. The person that intrigued me the most was Brent Burns. The man is a beast in real life and I like his two way game. So based on his player model, he had Passing, Puckhanding, stamina and balance as the highest attributes. As a result, if there is one attribute i would focus most on, it will definitely be puckhandling. It seems that this attribute affects the effectiveness of the player. A good puck moving defenseman can also position himself well and that is why i believe this should be focused on most. THis attribute may be like defense in SHL, which is important for the effectiveness of a player. While I focus on puckhandling, if there was a thing my player will be known for, it will be passing. As a result I will also max out his passing so i can dish out many assists to my teammates. I will focus on this because this well help overall team production. 4. During this offseason, Zlatan will head towards Winnipeg. Unlike last season, where he went back to his hometown in Sweden, Zlatan realizes he has a lot of work to do as he will be playing in the SHL for the first time, since being drafted by the Jets. Renowned for being one of the best prospects of his draft, Zlatan will be doing heavy training to prove his position in the organization. He understands that he will only get few minutes initially, but this will soon change as he continues to maintain his worth ethic. Ibra Jr., is the type of player that becomes better with difficult scenarios. Thus, this will be a great challenge and obstacle for him to overcome. Zlatan will be working more on his offensive game this time around as he wants to be more well rounded. He is already a beast in the defensive end, thus he is looking to dish out some assists to his teammates to improve team efficiency. Zlatan will also meet his new teammates in Winnipeg and get used to their organization. This is going to be one of the toughest offseasons for Zlatan but he is more than ready to face any challenges that may emerge. 5. If i had to pick one player from either the Rage or Pride that will win a regular season award in the future, it will definitely be Luka Thomason of Manhattan Rage. The dude is a complete monster and has all it takes to be a beast. The award that he will most likely win in the future is the Jef Dar trophy for best two-way player. He had 53 points this regular season and also amassed 143 hits. THe only player that i will see is arguably ahead of him is Philip Winter from the Panthers who had hell of a season. Luke Thomason also had 24 goals and 29 assists. As you can see, he isn't a one dimensional player as he is able to score and make assists. Luke is also a hardworker and has all the pedigree he needs to attain that award. He is also almost at 1900 TPE, which is phenomenal. 6. While global warming is a significant problem we are facing right now, I do not see how this can be a solution to reduce the carbon foot prints. The players and everyone associated with the team will still need to travel to the host country. This can be expensive for both times as it will result in flight fare. On top of that imagine the fans that want to watch their home teams. They will definitely travel, be it car or airplane. This requires fuel which is a source of pollution. Not only that but it will also cost a lot of money. Another disadvantage would be that fans will not truly be able to enjoy the game. The feeling of watching your team at your hometown is much better. |
