Contract negotiations are not a problem for Collin Gibbles since he is the General Manager of the Minnesota Chiefs. He can simply offer whatever he would want for a contract as long as it follows the league guidelines. That being said Collin Gibbles already has the contract he wanted when he last negotiated with the previous team of GM's. His unprecedented 18 Season, 72 Million Dollar contract was a shock to most of the league when it was announced. Not only was the contract long enough to allow Gibbles to reach 1000 games played for the Chiefs, but he was able to secure 18 separate bonus conditions within the contract. Each condition would allow Gibbles to earn an additional 500K the following season with a possible total of 9 Million Dollars on the table. Gibbles has been able to secure 2/3 conditions since signing the contract but with recent changes in the league, he is not sure he will be able to play well enough to hit the goals set. While the league would allow him to renegotiate the contract as the GM of the team, he has stated that he plans to honor the deal he signed before he stepped down as team captain to assume his new role.
