S54 PT #1 - A New Focus

After a good rookie campaign that ended in the Timber missing the playoffs last year, I stuck around in Maine to try and put in some serious work for this upcoming season. My game is centered around playing stalwart defense and it went well last year, but going into the off season I met with the coaches and they wanted me to spend the off season working on my physicality and offensive game. One of the major issues last season in Maine was a lack of a goal scorer. We were a defensive team and nearly every player had a pass first mentality which clearly doesn’t score a lot of goals. So this off season I spent a huge amount of time at the gym getting stronger to help with puck possession, doing shooting drills, and watching tape of high skill offensive players to learn what looks they use and how they react. I feel like all this has drastically improved my offensive upside going into next year and hopefully it will help the Timber get over the top and back into the playoffs.
