The Saturday night Kelowna news with Knoots
SMJHL 54th season has started with amazing start of Kelowna Knights! From first 7 regular season games they have won 5 of them and You know what is 5 too? The number of assists of Kelowna knights rookie – Chris Goodname. The hockey analysts think that behind his numbers are his mindset and personality. What hockey personality does he has? Mature – despite being one of youngest Knight he acts on ice as an elder. Isn’t afraid to handle the puck in responsible situations. He isn’t afraid to act like core player while he is on the ice. Also most of his decisions are smart wise especially middle and defensive zone. Offensively minded – even though he is DEFENCEman he likes to make fast tempo game as direction set going to opponent net! As Goodname has said in interview once – “Best defence is the offence. You can not score while You are stuck in Your own zone. And even though You are +2 or +4 on scoreboard why to bring down the heat? Keep scoring, keep pushing, never stop. I define it as lack of ambitions. Even when You are shorthanded You can shoot at opponent net. Make the goalie stop the play. Win the faceoff. Shoot quickly. Don’t let easy in own zone. Don’t give a opponent team the single chance!” Hunger – You might think that his offensive mind set is related to his belly. It might be. He is all the time eating. In training intermissions, going to arena, at arena, next to Zamboni. Even in the games when he is in the penalty box he takes his wives made lunch! ![]() |
