The Texas Renegades, having received a first round bye after winning their division in the S56 regular season, had a week off before their playoffs started against the Chicago Syndicate. During this time, the Renegades held their annual Halloween party, with all the Renegade players showing up in a variety of costumes. White Goodman dressed up as the Wolverine. There was a bit of controversy when both Patrick Niederreiter and Edward Williams both showed up dressed as Mike Wazowski and the two had a good-natured argument over who had the better costume. There were more than a few players who dressed up as stars from other sports, with Noah Brusky dressing up as Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers while Mikkel Asmus Sondegard was dressed up as Bo Bichette, the young slugger who plays for the Toronto Blue Jays. And apparently no one told Eric Hudson it was a Halloween party as he arrived without a costume but with a beer in hand.
