I had just finished the best season of my career, and even in the grips of my first regression I thought I was going to have another great season offensively. I did not really come close to my career highs in stats unfortunately. Before the trade that sent me to Los Angeles, I think this was just part of New Orleans switching their tactics to being a little bit more defensive or something. Or maybe regression hit our "top" line hard? Either way our scoring was down across the board and it definitely impacted Slothface's point pace. After the trade, my point production definitely picked up even though I failed to finish where I was the season prior in the points department. Hopefully this is a good sign heading into next season as the Panthers will hopefully be leaning on me to provide a lot of offense on the top line. I still have lofty goals for this player even if he has been mediocre. Code: 183 Words 3. Code: 16. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer. Written/Graphic, 3 TPE (150 words min.) I would say that the SHL should keep it smart like the NHL and keep their bubble in Canada so that we don't get infected all the crazies in the States. That gives us Winnipeg, Hamilton, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto as options for the bubble. I actually never really noticed how many Canadian cities we had represented and thought this would be more restrictive. I am going to take in real life concerns as well, so I think we can eliminate Hamilton off the list because I can't imagine it has as much to bring to the table as the other cities. Toronto showed that it can host a real life bubble, but let's eliminate them just so we do not double it up. That means Edmonton is out too. It is down to Winnipeg and Calgary and we'll give them both the bubble so we can do the double game slots like the NHL. I have actually been to Winnipeg, and I'm not entirely sure what the players would do in the city. But hey they're in t he bubble so just play some ping pong or something. Code: 189 words 5. Code: 6. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) The Carolina Kraken are the best SMJHL team not to make the finals this season. Due to the funky formatting of the FHM playoffs they had to go up against the Vancouver Whalers early on in the playoff bracket. Despite the Whalers having an all time great regular season team, the Kraken gave them quite a scare. After winning early games in the series the Kraken were able to take the regular season champs all the way to a riveting game seven. Ultimately the Kraken could not prevail in the battle of the sea creatures, but they certainly gave Vancouver a run for their money. Thanks to steady earning a young Kraken team really became a strong squad. Code: 118 words 6. Code: 3. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) I will attempt to come up with a dumber format than FHM, which is actually saying a lot because FHM's format is absolute garbage. My way of deciding the playoff seeding would be to drop Pingy in a dimly lit room with 12 doors leading out of the room. Each door would represent a team in the top 12 overall that made the playoffs with their logos painted on each individual door. He wouldn't know what he was doing there, and we would drop a shark into the room (don't ask how the shark is surviving out of water) and when Pingy freaks out and runs away with his pinto beans, whichever door he goes out will count as awarding that team the top seed in the playoffs. Then we would wrangle Pingy, put him back in the room after locking the door he previously went out, and repeat the process. This would go on until he ran out 12 doors. Then the bracket would be your normal sort of thing. The dumbness comes from assigning the seeds. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Code: 186 words |
