We're here with Shion Okamoto, one of the rookie defensemen for the Newfoundland Berserkers.

Reporter: Being new to the SMJHL, how has your experience been in the locker room?

Okamoto: It's a really welcoming and fun group of guys to be around. I'm just glad to be a part of the team and get things going out on the ice. It's been great getting to know everyone, you have to be really tight with those guys you're going out to battle with.

Reporter: How would you describe your leadership style?

Okamoto: Well right now as a rookie, I'm not looking to take an immediate stand in the locker room. I'm just looking to gel with the team for now. I want to let my play on the ice speak for itself, and gain respect from that. However, I've got lots to improve on in my rookie season to get to that point.
