As a member of the New England Wolfpack, I'd say our current rival is the Hamilton Steelhawks. Sure, at this moment we've got quite a TPE deficit compared to their team, but we have a promising group of players on their way to becoming the core of a cup-contending team. The event that I think is freshest on our minds is the NEW cup run in the first season of the FHM era. NEW was the president's trophy winner and we were slated to face a team in the finals which honestly would've been a gimme for us, we just had to pass through Hamilton in the semi's first. However, after a hard-fought round, Hamilton ended up on top and went on to snatch a relatively easy win for the cup that season. We could say that we were only defeated by the eventual champions, but we still got nothing significant out of the run. This loss was also a catalyst for a majority of our season-dominating core requesting trades. This left a bad taste in NEW's mouth, and also a particularly sour taste in mine since so many great players put all their hopes into one season instead of the multiple-season window we had just entered into (during which we'd proven that we were a force to contend with). The trades netted us many 1sts to assist in the unexpected rebuild (note that several of them were from Hamilton themselves, who've continued to excel in the league with some of our former core players), but it was still quite an abrupt end to a promising window, which was ultimately caused, and profited from, by Hamilton.
